Thoughts on Bitcoin/alt coin divergence Posted: 05 Jun 2018 04:37 PM PDT It seems, from my limited vantage, that the market has "matured" to the point where there is real recognition of the real (potential) value of individual projects outside of the Bitcoin/Ethereum hegemony. I'm thinking of projects like NEO, and some of the others with wide-ranging institutional partnerships. I'm wondering, if the Bitcoin correction deepens and it drops to $5k or even $3k, as some think it will in the coming months, do you think the sentiment is positive enough, and widespread enough, around some alt coins for there finally to be a divergence between Bitcoin and the rest of the market? Particularly with the development of direct fiat onramps and USD pairings with coins other than BTC and ETH? Or will the entire market continue for the foreseeable future to be dragged/lifted hither and thither by the king? I know whatever anyone says is speculation. Just looking for some educated opinions. The central role of Masternodes, primenodes in project districts Posted: 05 Jun 2018 06:05 PM PDT If you're an ardent follower of Projects Districts, you've probably heard the term Masternode being thrown about the Projects whitepaper and its numerous social media channels. And if you're conversant with the crypto world you probably know what a Masternode is and its importance in a blockchain. However, for those new to the cryptocurrency scene and in extension Project Districts, the term might stir up a bit of confusion. For the sake of these individuals we will be addressing what a Masternode is, its uses in the Districts ecosystem, and how can users use them as a source of investment. Masternode 101 In very simple terms a masternode is a dedicated server (node) on a decentralized network (in this case the 3DCoin blockchain), that runs a copy of 3Dcoin's blockchain and performs specific functions in real time. Compared to normal nodes, 'Master' – nodes are typically more robust, possess advanced capabilities and require sizable resources to run. But that's just your typical masternode, the 3DCoin masternode is this and more, and amongst other things, it has the capabilities to: >3D World client synchronization As was noted earlier, running a masternode capable of performing these functions can be resource intensive. Which is why the 3DCoin masternode feature comes with a rewards system that offers incentives redeemable as a percentage of every transaction facilitated by a masternode. By hosting a 3Dcoin masternode, users are contributing their quota to the propagation of the 3DCoin blockchain and in so doing setting up a mechanism for earning passive income. It's a win-win situation for investors and the Project Districts ecosystem. Masternodes are essential to the smooth operation of the Districts Ecosystem You can think of masternodes as 'superintendents' of the 3Dcoin blockchain. Superintendents in the sense that their advanced capabilities allow them to orchestrate and fast-track otherwise tedious and time-consuming transactions (transaction, in this case, encompasses all processes run on the 3dcoin blockchain). More masternodes translates to a robust, faster and more efficient 3DCoin blockchain. Which in turn fosters smoother operations in the Districts 3D world. Currently, all running masternodes are involved in the mining of 3DCoin. When the specified maximum supply of circulating 3Dcoin is reached, users can then upgrade their masternodes to a Districts Prime/Pulse node. A Districts Prime or Pulse node is a multichain node tasked with storing all the blockchains created in the 3DCoin blockchain architecture. While conventional nodes (masternodes inclusive) run a copy of the blockchain, Prime-nodes take it one-step further and store every blockchain created in the Districts ecosystem. Their overseeing role in the architecture of the 3DCoin blockchain sets them up to undertake other advanced functionalities. Pulse-nodes are responsible for Project Districts p2p synchronization. They integrate individual factions (i.e., users) of the 3DCoin blockchain and position them to function in synergy and as a composite whole. Furthermore, they foster instant hosting of decentralized applications (3D dapps). What's in it for users who set up a prime/pulse node? Quite a lot actually. Aside from contributing to the overall districts architecture and in so doing taking the project one step closer to reaching its goals, Prime-nodes offer incentives to their administrators in the form of; Tokens and Primenodes The 3DCoin and in extension the districts ecosystem comes preconfigured with a token feature (as you might have already known). However, unlike conventional tokens, tokens on the 3DCoin blockchain will be hosted on a special blockchain subsisting in a Primenode (remember that aside from its peculiar functionalities a Primenode can also undertake masternode-like features). This leverages them (the tokens) to receive preferential treatment ahead of regular transactions while granting them an extra layer of security. Tokens are by default structured to convey critical details about transactions; our goal is to make them as Impervious as can be to hacks and intrusion. Overall, Projects Districts is steadily advancing on its march to develop the first truly scalable and decentralized virtual and augmented reality ecosystem. As always, in collaboration with the community, the dev team is committed to keeping the 3DCoin parent architecture very much up to date in line with current technological trends, hence the recent rounds of updates and feature upgrades. Our goal is to lead the frontiers of innovation in the VR/AR tech sphere and backed by our ever-vibrant community we are more than capable of going the long mile. [link] [comments] | ||
