This is why there are so many trolls. The powers-that-be are using the age-old “Divide and Conquer” strategy. Must-read article on the problem and how we should solve it.

I’ve never encountered such a hateful/jealous group like BTC maximalists. They will do anything to disparage others or any project that competes w/ BTC. They are misogynistic, ridicule people who help others, they troll constantly & have THE most toxic community in all of crypto.

    Huge Bitcoin Cash adoption idea

    Posted: 02 Jun 2018 12:19 PM PDT

Step 1: Create an "Adult" section of Memo.cash. (If this is too controversial, create a fork of Memo and name it Boobs.Cash or something.)

Step 2: Create a bounty system similar to the one used by BCHpizza.org that incentivizes adult-content creators on reddit, pornhub, snapchat, instagram, etc to create an account with Memo. The creator can claim the bounty when she (or he) has verified their Memo account with their other social media. What is a bounty? More info on how the bounty works here.

The idea is that: As a community we can fund bounties for our favorite porn stars, they become the initial content creators who use decentralized social media, their followers will check their Memo pages out and some will stay simply because of the appeal of Bitcoin Cash combined with a decentralized platform.

This is low hanging fruit, my friends. We have the technology, we just need to make use of it. And how often does the porn industry shape or influence technological innovations? Bitcoin Cash could gain its first huge adoption rush from the adult-content industry if it's done correctly.

I finally got to use my Bitcoin to buy a coffee!

    Posted: 02 Jun 2018 02:04 PM PDT

for years I have been waiting to use my Bitcoin to buy a coffee from my local coffee shop as I always felt that was how Bitcoin was supposed to be used, for every day items

I have been a Coinbase user for years, so I found the Shift card was able to link to my Bitcoin Cash wallet, so I ordered one a couple weeks ago

I got my card in the mail today, activated it over the phone in a couple minutes (only had to enter 8 digits total to activate, so awesome)

My wife and I headed straight for Dunkin Donuts for some ice coffee; transaction went through without a hitch. I received a text message about the transaction from Shift before I left the parking lot. checked my Coinbase and transaction taken from my Bitcoin Cash wallet

I am beyond thrilled. I wish I could have used my Bitcoin directly but this is close enough for now. I have been using my Amex for every day items due to cash back but will be using my Shift card from now on for all my every day purchases (which tend to be coffee)

On a side note Shift kinda missed an opportunity here by having a beautifully designed simple card, but wish it has the Bitcoin Cash logo on it (or was customizable)

My greatest thanks to Shift, Coinbase and USAA that have all been seamless and awesome when dealing with Bitcoin and it's integration into current financial systems

Liquid - Strong Federation and Side Chains

    Posted: 02 Jun 2018 10:41 PM PDT

Exchanges are starting to adopt Liquid, a side chain created by Blockstream to help increase inter-exchange liquidity (providing fee-less near-instant crypto transfers between exchanges), which will subsequently help reduce the main network's congestion (on Bitcoin Core).: https://blockstream.com/strong-federations.pdf

What are the top criticisms of such a scheme? The watchmen seem to hold a lot of power; if the watchmen's keys are lost, there will be a subsequent loss in Bitcoin Core, Furthermore, the blocksigners can (at a majority of k/n) censor transactions very easily. Rather than these blocksigners being anonymous globally distributed miners, they are a group of exchanges that must follow KYC and AML standards. That means they have an obligation to censor transactions on the side chain they find suspicious.

Has anyone done a deep-dive analysis into Liquid and can provide us with a summary of the pros/cons for us less-technical individuals? Thanks

Exchanges are not obligated to call BTC Bitcoin.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2018 04:40 PM PDT

It was exchanges that chose to mistakenly name the broken fork based on propaganda and not fundamentals. There are no rules prohibiting them from correcting that error.

HandCash app/wallet is Fabulous! Have you tried it yet?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2018 01:57 PM PDT

Just limited use so far, but my first impressions:

    • Handles WOW-Awesome feature!
    • Simple/Easy interface (yet still has options within)
    • tx fee defaults/set to the current min. of just 1-sat/byte
    • Edit: Had to delete my earlier praise for display working when phone (Android) settings set to large/largest. HandCash doesnt display all screens properly unless in default size (un-useable currently when set above default size). I msg'd Alex/HandCash to put on the to-do list for a future update to correct...

    Info: HandCash

    Android Playstore

    iOS not avail just yet...

NOTE: Is still Beta, so proceed accordingly!
