Posted: 06 May 2018 04:27 AM PDT Just looking at events and also seeing the market, and noticing certain things, let's understand that this month is going to be HUGE. First of all, let's acknowledge that we've been in a hovering motion around the 87-91 cent range. Its been like this for a week or so. Whilst this has happened, other coins have risen abit more than Xrp, such as some concerns of the growing BCH. Looking into why that is, probably people making their bets with the hearing on the 8th. Apparently the SEC will finally make their decision on Ripple XRP and ETH being a security or not. Most of the community fighting to say it isnt, which im in agreement with. And so I feel many will drop the price because of the uncertainty -- understandable -- but stupid. As a result, BCH may top Ripple temporarily based off some other charts ive seen showing BCH increased MC. (Though im sure BCH has no real world use -- plz let me know if that's false) Not that it matters, but BearableGuy also mentions that the SEC decision should be big, especially if in our favor-- love him or hate him -- his inside info is accurate. Lastly, probably the biggest thing. Think about it like this. -Consensus -Cobalt -SEC decision -SBI xVia xRapid uses // Launch -Coinbase? I include Coinbase because the timing is perfect actually. Imagine. Coinbase knowing or having spoke to Ripple partners, knowing the legalities to get things in place. Waiting til the SEC decision. Making use of the time to get employees. The most profitable time before any major developments (all above) Honestly. I think this month is it. Binance possibly doing USDT to help leverage its knowledge of this as well. Its just all too perfect. And I hope it pays off. Moon Lambo? Jk. But let's pray this is what we've held for! Cheers! [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2018 09:40 AM PDT Alright look. I hold a decent little bit of XRP, it is 100% of my portfolio. I love this asset and I love Ripple. BUT, we don't know if the SEC is going to make any ruling on XRP tomorrow. That is not at all what has been said about the events that will transpire tomorrow. Also, I can see either outcome benefiting Ripple and XRP. If XRP and ETH are ruled not securities, they will be able to remain on all their exchanges while the majority of other coins will be ruled as securities and disappear off the exchanges until the exchanges with adequate budgets can get their licensing to sell securities. In that gap of time, XRP will see a large price increase. If it IS ruled a security, we will see it drop off exchanges for a while, temporarily hurting XRP, but when large regulated exchanges go live like NASDAQ, it will be a cattle call for large financial institutions to start investing in XRP. The thing I worry about in that situation is that the price of XRP will have diminished enough and its presence will be low enough that its liquidity would not be where it needs to be for FIs to use it. Anyway, there seems to be a lot of hub-bub around here with very little inspection. I just wanted to throw this out there. This post isn't as detailed as it needs a to be to back up what I am saying, but I dont have much time to talk today, but I would love to see this discussed. Am I right, am I wrong, do we know, do we not know? What is our understanding on this situation? [link] [comments]
Silicon Valley on HBO just talked about the SEC and crypto. Posted: 06 May 2018 07:48 PM PDT The exchange that stood out to me was: SPOILERS BELOW!!! FYI, in this episode, Richard's company is preparing to do an ICO. "Richard: Who do I hire? Someone that understands securities, right? Monica: Not necessarily, your coin doesn't have to be a security, you could do a utility token instead since you provide an actual unit of compute. Although you have to convince the SEC....You might not even need to bother with a moving outer-facing strategy when you launch, but you will need to keep a close eye on statements from the federal government, South Korea and China. So whoever you do hire, should definitely know how to do all that." It seems general knowledge of crypto regulations is creeping into mainstream culture. Also, the show's writers seem confident that securities and utility coins will be deemed two separate entities. Thoughts? ***I think I understood the dialogue correctly, but she mumbles "compute" it is almost like they dubbed it over. Also, "moving outward-facing strategy" might not be right? XVia From Ripple (XRP): A Bridge Between RippleNet And ERPs (SAP And Oracle) Posted: 06 May 2018 09:20 AM PDT XVia From Ripple (XRP): A Bridge Between RippleNet And ERPs (SAP And Oracle)
What is xVia? xVia as defined by Ripple.com, is for corporates, payment providers and banks who want to send payments across various networks using a standard interface. xVia's simple API requires no software installation and enables users to seamlessly send payments globally with transparency into the payment status and with rich information, like invoices, attached.
What is RippleNet? RippleNet is a decentralized global network of banks and payment providers using Ripple's distributed financial technology, which provides real-time messaging, clearing and settlement of financial transactions.
What is an ERP? Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is business process management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate many back office functions related to technology, services and human resources.
Popular examples of ERP software include SAP and Oracle ERP Cloud solutions.
Connecting the dots…
xVia, being API based, can be used to connect these ERP software solutions to RippleNet as explained by Marcus Treacher in this youtube clip. xVia can be embedded into the ERPs or any app developed by software providers or banks. The day to day activities can then driven through xVia's API connection and over into RippleNet allowing for a seamless software payments solution at one go.
An API in computer programming is defined as a set of clearly defined methods of communication between various software components.
In a nutshell, companies and organizations who have ERP software solutions, can be connected to RippleNet via xVia. This then allows for the organizations to gain access to the network of banks and payment providers provided by RippleNet. After which, there is fricitonless payment settlements through a standardized set of rules (on RippleNet) for the sending of real-time, secure and traceable payments around the world. Today will be a milestone - Be pragmatic with your portfolio. Posted: 06 May 2018 09:48 PM PDT No one is suggesting a pump and dump, far from it, but with potentially choppy waters ahead it's a good time to batten down the hatches for the day. Those with large hodlings will have probably already made arrangements, those with smaller hodlings might want to do the same. There are plenty of arguments either way over the last 72 hours, both sides with equal vigour, it's a prime example of hedging your bets on an announcement which will go one way or another. The same stuff has happened with potential coinbase announcements. It's not our enthusiasm which decides these things, it's out of our control. Irrespective of your expectations on the outcome, it's important to look at the potential ramifications of the argument either way, and secure your position as best you can should the situation go in either direction, rather than placing hope and portfolio in one side of the argument winning. You might as well be putting your private key in a lottery if you lean toward one side more than the other. I personally believe that XRP won't be considered a security, there are too many hallmarks of existing securities which don't apply to XRP to fit in to that basket, but I'm not willing to bet my portfolio on my own opinion as I'm not the persons about to declare a position. There's no FUD in this post, but there is as much common sense as I can give without swaying anyone into one side or the other, and you should make your own decisions too. Crypto is undoubtedly going to go through this shit many times along the way to mass adoption. It's your call. [link] [comments]

How will xPool influence XRP price ? Posted: 06 May 2018 04:31 AM PDT Do you think when xPool becomes live, XRP will still be evaluated through exchanges (offer/demand) or will be evaluated (other paradigm ?) via xPool liquidity sources ? If the worth of XRP is tied to its usage through liquidity sources (aka xPools) why couldn't it reach hundreds/thousands of $ per XRP ? (If FI, banks and other corporates need it). CMC valuation is a nonsense imho (I don't want to debate this here plz) I don't believe it will be considered as a crypto as soon as SBI becomes live and offers the first huge liquidity source for Asia partners (and worldwide later) What's your opinion ? Posted: 06 May 2018 08:14 AM PDT What is the most secure way of selling a portion of xrp from my paper wallet for gbp to my bank account? I plan to go through otc services in the future but for now I want to take some profit and sell a very small portion. From doing my own research, it seems the best way would be to.
I recently created an account with lbx as they offer xrp to gbp and fairly easy withdrawals to bank account, however they said that they don't recommend sweeping funds from paper wallet to their exchange wallet.. Is this the best way to sell a portion of my xrp securely? All help would be appreciated. Especially from members who have had experience doing this. Thanks everyone [link] [comments]
From May 6-7 Ripple (XRP) has decreased more than 4.25% Posted: 06 May 2018 07:37 PM PDT bIg NeWs! If not then I guess you do not have any significant XRP holdings ;) Inspired by: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/comments/8hf9kx/from_may_56_ripple_xrp_has_increased_more_than_024/ Sorry, I couldn't resist. Posted: 05 May 2018 11:05 PM PDT Title. Essentially I don't want to be in a place where I lose my XRP in the future but I don't have my recovery phrase anymore. I was thinking I'll just make a whole new wallet, safely secure my new recovery phrase, then transfer the funds from the old wallet to the new one. Good or bad idea? [link] [comments]
