Member of Zcash team had a chat with Juhan Wu. I'm so furious right now. Posted: 30 May 2018 12:32 PM PDT https://forum.z.cash/t/so-i-had-a-videochat-with-jihan-wu/29379 I'm sorry for swearing, but I just can't express it in any other way. Basically, he tries to be a devil's advocate there. Stopped reading after the "We weren't mining XMR and we never stealth mined", what a load of bullshit. People are getting their ASICs with dust in them, yeah, certainly "never stealth mined". Monero had a huge jump in hashrate and 80% of mining hashare was "Unknown", i.e. not coming from any of the mining pools. BEFORE X3 APPERED IN THE BITMAIN SHOP! Immediately after the fork hashrate just crapped itself and dropped 6 times, then some GPU miners switched and it stabilized at 500-600 MH/s. So Jihan wants to convince us that somebody just got 800 MH/s on Monero (that's 400 000 Vega 64's (I don't think there was or even is so much Vegas given their shortage) or 1 000 000 RX 570/580s, THIS SHIT NEEDS A FUCKING QUARTER OF A NUCLEAR REACTOR TO FUNCTION!) and mined solo. Try harder, Jihan. And that Zcash guy just trusted him, the devil which does no good, scams people of their money with his noisy doorstoppers and makes every crypto a fucking centalized excel spread sheet just like Ripple, but very slow. He's lying in front of the court and court is like "Yeah, fuck the truth, fuck the proof, man, you're good". I'm so fucking furious and I'm not even mining Zcash. Let it burn and die, guys, cause Zcash Foundation doesn't care about who brings them $350K per day, us or BitMain. BitMain deserves every splinter of hate it recieves and even more. Posted: 30 May 2018 08:46 PM PDT Is this for real? It's like a revenge of the nerds comeback episode, if so. I can't find anything else about it on the Internet, which could either validate this as true (miners are very good at keeping secrets), or a miner version of fake news. Somebody must have tried this, right? Please share! https://www.crypto-coinz.net/bitmain-b3-miner-cracked-and-ported-for-nvidia-gpus-strike-back/ [link] [comments]

Economical configuration of rig for summer Posted: 31 May 2018 01:41 AM PDT Hello, I have a mining rig with GTX 1070 I have it in my house and now I have a problem with big temperature from it, because summer has started. Can you give me some tips for economic configuration? I dont want to stop the rig, but I want some settings for lower Hash and less heat from it. Dont give me specific configuration, just tips what settings should I reduce:) I tried to discover something on the internet, but there are just ''the best'' configurations:/ [link] [comments]

Minimum VLT hardware specification for RX580 Nitro/Pulse 8GB Posted: 31 May 2018 12:42 AM PDT Does anyone know where I can get the minimum vlt hardware specification for Sapphire RX580 cards, the 8GB versions Nitro+ and Pulse that are safe. I'm currently running some of those cards on 880 vlt and wonder if I would damage them by going lower but I don't seem to be able to find the hardware sepcification documents for those cards anywhere. If nobody knows it I'll ask AMD directly. EDIT: I had some great talks with the ethos community and the general consense is that you should never ever go below 840 vlt or you will damage the gpu cores. Safe values are 880 vlt and 860 vlt is still okay. This information is based on people who are at the top of gpu modding. [link] [comments]
Is no one happy with the market right now? Posted: 30 May 2018 03:48 PM PDT Regardless of how deep the market tanks it seems like more rigs are popping up on the market, people are folding, is anyone else thinking there is a silver lining to this and now is a pretty decent time to mine and hodl? I may be missing something here and I'm sure I'm gonna get slaughtered with negative comments. One thing I learned with trading crypto is it can be very beneficial to do what people aren't expecting or don't naturally wanna do, I made a habit of picking up coins that had a terrible day in the recent bull market and had a pretty rewarding time doing it, if they weren't shitcoins that is. I know my time was more rewarding that my friends chasing coins riding hype waves, atleast the ones that didn't get in early enough. It seems like everyone just likes to hate on new miners, which from a miner perspective is a probably a good way to go about it. I'm not saying people who picked up hardware at the ATH should be popping champagne right now, but prices seem to be calming down, lots of decently priced used rigs on the market. An ROI under a year seems pretty decent to me, even in crypto, if you're smart that could be much quicker too, makes more sense than buying an apartment to rent, or starting a side business if you have some money and the know how. Anyways, not saying anyone should rack up a ton of debt, or quit their day jobs or anything. Just seems like things aren't as dire as they are being portrayed. Feels like we're in a nice spot right now where mining promising, or stable projects will pay off for the patient when we reach the next bull run in this very repetitive (albiet unpredictable) market. Thank you though, through all the salt, this has been an extremely valuable source of information getting my bearings in this very exciting space. [link] [comments]

A simple little program to check windows uptime Posted: 30 May 2018 04:21 PM PDT As I run 12 rigs, i want to know the uptime of each rig. you can do this by opening the taskmanager and choose performance, or install this little (486 Kb) program called winlife. it uses almost no resources at all. (0% cpu and 1.8 MB Memory.) I have it on every desktop and it saves me time when i do my daily rig checkups. download at: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/WinLife.shtml [link] [comments]
Safety Cutoff for Mining rig in a grow tent. Posted: 30 May 2018 07:32 PM PDT Hello, I did some digging around looking at peoples grow tent setups and decided to build myself one. Got it all set up and have been running for almost a week now. I'm nervous about the inline fan either breaking or shutting off and the rig sitting in the tent with no ventilation just running and running. Curious what people do to safeguard the rig from overheating if the inline fan stops. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 May 2018 01:58 PM PDT So basically they stolen my first dd payment and almost doubled my bill.. To add insult to injury they also made up the gas payment and came to a conclusion to refund me £14 for gas -_- lmao.. I already checked twitter and found at least one more person who complain about wrong bill and balance gone now.. I really hope they are not scam as I don't want to spend time dealing with this BS... but that first dd payment at the start of supply was suspicious as hell... I will complain to the ombudsman level if I have to tho.. I expected more from them. Do any of you who use them have similar experience? here is the actual statement: https://imgur.com/gallery/zfp8QZj [link] [comments]
new to mining, can i mine with gtx 770 2gb ? Posted: 30 May 2018 03:45 PM PDT i have normal pc include core i5, normal motherboard and gpu gtx 770 2gb oc asus can some suggest how to mine with this rig? [link] [comments]
Cooling for the summer in a basement room Posted: 30 May 2018 01:49 PM PDT I did my research and before dropping loads of money on a grow tent, fans, ducting, etc, my friend suggested just putting a fan in my only basement window (blowing from the room to the outside). This is a much cheaper solution and the window is at the top of the wall. Just wondering what others are doing/thinking. [link] [comments]
