Investigate This: New York AG Schneiderman resigns amidst allegations of physical abuse. Posted: 07 May 2018 09:39 PM PDT In the scheme of Bitcoin trading, this removes one more potential spectre that skeptics might use to rationalize their short thesis. A small, but noteworthy obstacle. Schneiderman previously made a play against cryptocurrency exchanges. [link] [comments] |
The simple backtest for rebalancing a crypto portfolio Posted: 07 May 2018 06:45 PM PDT TL;DR We created a simple backtest tool which you can use to examine periodic rebalancing https://hackernoon.com/the-simple-backtest-for-rebalancing-a-portfolio-3289bc8ee618 Summary The purpose of the backtool test is to have the easiest way to test various portfolios. The tool will automatically allocate an equal amount in each crypto. This is for simplicity. Then, simply select a rebalance period to see the performance difference over our given time period. Time Period The time period is from March 24, 2017 to March 23, 2018. This will hopefully be updated to current shortly. Asset Selection We currently support a cross section of Bittrex and Poloniex coins. The reason was because we were planning a feature where this was required, however, it is no longer relevant. We will be updating the assets shortly. Shrimpy Shrimpy does not automatically force you to have equal asset allocations. You can select any percentages with any combination of coins. The application also supports all of the coins which are available on each exchange, so it is not limited to the list provided on this tool. Please let me know if you have any questions! WARNING: DO NOT USE BTCTRADE.IM ANYMORE. Posted: 08 May 2018 05:46 AM PDT Yesterday there was an arbitrage opportunity on BTCTRADE. DOGE was selling at a 10% lower price than all other exchanges, so I sent some BTC there, and when I came to withdraw DOGE, it would just be on "waiting" status. I saw that I was out of their "working hours" of 9 to 24 Hong Kong time, so I waited. When they came back online, their support (NATE) told me that there was "Internet Conjestion" for Doge Withdrawals. Ignoring the typo, I said there was no such thing, and also that the doge pending tx on the blockchain were like 25 transactions. Support did not give me an explanation of what was happening, and there were other people complaining about doge and also about BCH. What was a 6% arbitrage opportunity turned into a 11% loss, because I knew that their BTC withdrawals worked, so I sold it all back into DOGE to withdraw my BTC. DO NOT USE THIS EXCHANGE. I have used it a lot, but I do not recommend it anymore. Support is just hopeless, and this DOGE business looks to me like they are manipulating stuff. They are selling fake DOGE that they don't have. I don't know their end game, if its just to profit from fees, to force users to trade it back and lose a lot. I don't really know, but I am not willing to lose any more money. If anyone here knows their CEO or whatever, feel free to mention him so he can give us an explanation of what is going on. Cheers. I built a small app to track my portfolio as easily as possible. I'm sharing it with you guys. Posted: 07 May 2018 02:05 PM PDT link: https://coins.rodeo The idea was to be able to check my portfolio instantly, from desktop and mobile. No unnecessary data, no fuzzy interface — everything should be efficient and smooth. I hope you will like it. Of course, feedback is very much appreciated, thanks guys :) [link] [comments] |

Bitcoin and Monetary/Fiscal Policy Posted: 08 May 2018 08:51 AM PDT I see few, if any, articles and posts on the impact of USD monetary and fiscal policy, on Bitcoin. Ultimately, I believe the value of bitcoin will be related to the number of USD in circulation. Currently, the federal reserve is both raising interest rates AND reducing its balance sheet, which effectively reduces the USD in circulation domestically. Conversely, the US government is issuing debt at a pace of $1 trillion + per year, which is being used to accommodate the demand for safe assets world wide. Much of the US debt issuance goes into the shadow banking system (eurodollars), which can then be leveraged to essentially print even MORE money independent of domestic banking reserve requirements. So how do these factors impact bitcoin in the medium term (1 - 3 years)? In the long term, I am of the opinion that the structural fiscal imbalance of the US government, and unwilllingness to cut entitlement spending, will eventually cause the federal reserve bank to monetize massive amounts of US debt, creating inflation, resulting in substantial bitcoin price appreciation. I am curious if anyone has seen quantitative analysis of these factors. If so, I'd love to see it. (I should point out that my focus on the BTC/USD exchange rate is due to the USD status as the reserve currency of the world, and thus, this exchange rate, and USD policy, will have the largest impact on BTC valuation). Posted: 07 May 2018 06:29 PM PDT I want to make sure that I'm using the right website and email for Circle OTC and not being phished. It seemed strange that circles.com's OTC is circletrade.com and not something like circle.com/otc [link] [comments] |
Anyone interested in marketing and monetizing a Crypto Tracker Platform? Posted: 08 May 2018 03:37 AM PDT Hi there! Our company has developed a full cryptocurrency portfolio tracker (https://virtus.io) with features that are comparable (or better) to the top apps out there (Delta, Blockfolio, etc). We put quite a few resources into making it fast and easy to use. We fully believe we have a winner here, however, our company has another focus (different market segment) and, most importantly, we lack any experience of digital marketing, especially for B2C products. Having said all that, we are looking for individuals and/or companies that are interested in taking this to the market and invest on branding, marketing, business model, etc. We handle the tech and you would do the rest. We are not philanthropists, that is, we would like to get some return out of this, however, considering all the work missing, we are open for any suggestions. If you are interested please send us an email at info.virtus.io@gmail.com, join our telegram https://telegram.me/virtusio or PM me Cheers [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2018 02:39 PM PDT Someone with information how could I find total volume of CBOE futures? I would really like to know the total volume of contracts regarding the day 16th of May.
The homepage shows just 24h volume. See: https://ibb.co/bV2sJn Also, you can find a total 24h volume for the particular day, here: https://markets.cboe.com/us/futures/market_statistics/daily/
But, what about total volume? Are there somewhere these data? [link] [comments] |
