US based exchange Coinstocks.io with FIAT Gateway and Ripple based pairing. UPDATE after post 2 months ago.

    Posted: 29 Apr 2018 12:55 PM PDT

    2 months ago I read this post here on /r/Ripple : https://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/comments/7vns4z/new_exchange_with_fiat_pairing_looking_for_beta/

I liked the idea and followed their progress. At this moment their exchange is fully operational and tested by 25k users. If you click on 'take a tour' you can test the exchange yourself.

The first post here 2 months ago provided a lot of feedback and the developers tried to implement a lot of new features. If you have new feedback about the exchange, feel free to comment here!

    Protocol Question

    Posted: 29 Apr 2018 07:38 PM PDT

In Bitcoin, as new blocks are appended to the ledger, subsequent blocks become more secure due to the enormous amount of work that would be required to re-mine the chain and convince the network of its authenticity. From what I have researched, there isn't an inherent quality that exists like this in the XRP protocol due to the account configuration the protocol chose to adopt ( compared to the UTXO-tracking model of Bitcoin). Essentially, if the XRP validation process is compromised, even temporarily, the entire history of the ledger can be re-written.

Can someone confirm whether this is correct, or if there is a flaw somewhere in my logic? I'm fairly new to studying the RCPA so it's highly likely I made a mistake along the way. If it is correct, could someone detail exactly how old sequences could be re-written? I could have sworn I read that from David Schwartz in a forum somewhere...

    Advice for a new(ish) trader

    Posted: 29 Apr 2018 07:49 AM PDT

I got in to ripple about 5 months ago (around the time Bitcoin went to $20k) and at the time thought I'd treat my coins as an investment. I bought at around the $0.85 mark just before they hit $3 and to my mistake decided to hold them.

A couple of weeks back I decided to get back into crypto and as XRP is the one I understood the most, decided to focus my efforts on that.

I've been trading for the last few weeks, buying on the low and selling on the high, even though the difference between highs and lows has been a few cents.

I'm now in the situation where I bought at around $.93 4 or 5 days back, now the current price is around .85 give or take a couple of cents.

My main goal is to increase the amount of XRP I hold. I'd like to be in this for the long run.

Do I cut my losses and sell at the current high, with the intention of trading on the highs and lows again, or do I hold for it to go above what I originally paid?

Although I'd lose about £0.07 per XRP, I could make that back up in a couple of trades.

    What would others do?

Would you still hold XRP if it becomes a one world currency?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2018 05:12 PM PDT

I heard rumors claiming that the dollar will fall, and for XRP to be +589, it would have to be used world wide. Assuming it is adopted all over the world, would you support its use or abstain from using it?

From another perspective, is it even possible for XRP to be the prophetiezed one world currency?

Toast Wallet Access/Import failed - what did I miss?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2018 05:19 AM PDT

Opened Toast Wallet, clicked "restore an existing account" and pasted my secret key from my Ripple Desktop Wallet. Not working. Why?

Btw I think I forgot to write down my Backup-Phrase, can I see it in Ripple Desktop Wallet or can I reveal it with my secret key somewhere else?

Any platform that takes into account ALL (atleast top 80-90%) exchanges across the world?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 10:47 PM PDT

    Ripple's Q1 2018 report states the following:

On January 8, Coinmarketcap.com unexpectedly removed South Korean digital asset exchanges from all of its index prices. The decision seemed to be motivated by increasing premiums, sometimes as high as 40 percent on the Korean exchanges, which were dislocating prices on the site. The change artificially erased $100 billion in market value, which resulted in significant market turbulence. While it impacted all digital asset prices, XRP's relatively high share of volume from the South Korean market meant its displayed price dropped disproportionately versus other top digital assets. XRP fell 19.1 percent versus an average of 7.2 percent for the other top five digital assets by market capitalization on Coinmarketcap.com's index price.

I want to see the real price even if it includes 40% premium from Korean exchanges. Can someone over here provide me a URL?
