Looks like JP Morgan's top blockchain executive left for her own startup... as a Ripple supporter I especially like the part saying "The FT reported that rival banks could have been reluctant to use Quorum because it was so closely associated with J. P. Morgan."...

Thanks to the community, we are now accepting XRP! :) Viva la revolution etc etc.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 09:44 AM PDT

    Hey folks, .

We launched a little crypto boutique this weekend (worst timing ever smh), BUT... I'm really happy to announce that as of today we're accepting Ripple as payment! :) It's only a temporary solution (part manual) but it works perfectly and will serve us well until we go fully automatic.

Thanks to those who requested it, or provided other feedback - it's very much appreciated and really useful in these, our infant stages.

And yes, there ARE some ripple designs in the pipeline. We're currently liasing with some of the team to see if we can make something happen :)

Enjoy the rest of Easter Monday!

    Fizz

PS: we're over at HODL.boutique if you want to have a gander. Sorry if this little PS is frowned upon, but launching in a bear market sucks (and you'll only see the link if you made it this far). Cheers! :)

PPS: Cheeky update since this hasn't been down-voted to oblivion (yet - give it time). We're doing free personalisation for non-fiat payments all of this week, So instead of the logo on the inside neck saying 'HODL', it'll say 'Tim' or 'Bob' or 'Pedro' or whatever. Pretty cool imo (but I would say that).

WU releases their new 24/7 product on WU.com in Jamaica, Caribbean, and Netherlands this month. Netherland ads started 2 days ago. Coincidentally the Netherlands central bank releases a positive statement on ripple 2 days ago. Seems like this new service is definitely using ripple(xrapid).

    About Toast wallet for ripple.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 09:43 AM PDT

I recently started using Toast wallet for ripple on my iphone. I've a few doubts that I couldn't clarify even after going through their FAQ page.

    1. Are the ripple coins physically stored on my iPhone?
    2. If yes, should I make a backup every time I add more ripple coins to the wallet so that the backup stays updated?
    3. And if the answer to Q1 is no, then what happens if toast wallet server gets hacked or they decide to no longer support the iOS app? Will all my coins disappear?
    4. If for some reason I can't get the Toast wallet app to work, can I use the backup in some other wallet to get back my coins?

Sorry if the questions are silly. I'm a total noob to offline wallets.

how do prices level out between fiat pairs?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 02:39 PM PDT

simple question, but how do the prices level out between pairs? i've noticed there's often several cents difference between pairs, including btc even after currency conversion.

when the price is low like this, that results in variations over several percent and can make a big difference when swapped between

Take a moment to compare Amazon and Ripple.

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 10:36 PM PDT

Amazon started off as just a book seller(you know those things that not a lot of people read and were often frowned upon by the current youth generation at the time). Jeff saw an opportunity and took it.While all of these other websites started to struggle, he started to sell everything that the competition did and more. Until they took over the market.

Now, Ripple started marketing itself to Banks and other payment providers. A market that typically wasn't liked in the crypto community. Ripple has just started to expand out of that. When Bitcoin is struggling to be the 'Fuck you banks' coin and Ethereum is seeing scaling issues. Litecoin can't overcome the tie to Bitcoin and issues they've seen. Ripple is attacking those use cases. Why have hundred crypto currencies, when one can do them all?

    Ripple (XRP) Partners With Hyperledger

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 03:30 AM PDT

Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. On March 28th, Hyperledger announced that 14 new organizations had joined the project, and amongst them, was Ripple (XRP). This brings the Hyperledger community to one that has 231 organizations in more than 25 countries from all over the world.

Ripple's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Stefan Thomas, was emphatic about the partnership and was quoted as saying: "Through our partnership with Hyperledger, developers worldwide will be able to access Interledger Protocol (ILP) in Java for enterprise use. The Hyperledger Quilt project connects Hyperledger blockchains with other ILP-capable payment systems such as XRP Ledger, Ethereum, Bitcoin (Lightning), Litecoin, Mojaloop and RippleNet, helping us to deliver on our vision for an Internet of Value – where money moves as information does today."
