GPU Mining Only R9 290's Crash in Rig (Hanging in OpenCL call)

Only R9 290's Crash in Rig (Hanging in OpenCL call)

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 06:06 AM PDT

I have 4x R9 290's along with a Vega in my rig and I am running two 1200w HP Server Power Supplies to give them power (HP DPS-1200FB). I have reinstalled windows, checked my risers and verified they all work. Each GPU is connected directly to a PCI Express slot. I made sure that ULPS is disabled in registy.

I made sure that none of the GPUs are in crossfire mode. I have even tried installing one GPU at a time to no avail. The crash happens whatever algorithm I'm mining with

I removed one R9 290 that was always getting the OpenCL watchdog error, and then once I only had three R9 290's in the system, the same exact thing started happening to another R9 290 (The issue only occurs with one GPU at a time).

I have tested all of the GPUs in a separate system one at a time and they work perfectly fine and were each stable for a week and a half. At this point I don't know what to fix considering this is a fresh install, and a fresh install of drivers. I am using the 18.3.3 Drivers since I have a Vega 64 in my rig, but that shouldn't be causing the problem. I have 32GB of Virtual Memory, along with 16GB of physical ram. I need a troubleshooting god at this point

Undervolting control won't unlock in afterburner

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 06:56 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I have tried to undervolt and it will not let me use the functionality to do so in MSI afterburner. I have checked the unlock control box and rebooted the program with no success. Any work around? Sapphire trixx works but I can only get one card to undervolt. That GUI is insanely annoying to use.

    Thanks

Anyone else trying to sell off?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 02:56 PM PDT

Yep, I bought the peak. Now my 1080 Ti's are making (maybe) 25 cents per day after my power costs. Payoff period is now basically infinity.

Yes it has been fun to learn all of this stuff, and I will hopefully always keep it as a hobby... but how are you guys dealing with these low profit margins? I keep thinking of putting some gear up on eBay to reduce the size of my farm, but seller fees are crushing.

Samsung 1070 doesn't want to be OCd?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 03:53 AM PDT

I picked up an EVGA GTX 1070 SC on eBay last week. When I got it everything seemed ok. Ran gpuid on it and what do you know, it has Samsung memory in it. yay! So I'm thinking I won't have an issues with overckocking at all. All of my other 1070s are hynix and I can push 31Mh/s with 70% power easy. For some reason this Samsung card won't OC for shit though. I can bump it up slow and get to about 30 but if I have to reset miner for whatever reason, It crashes. I have to set the OC to at least half of the others to keep it stable. Which brings it down to 28.5Mh/s. What gives? I do believe this card is a refurbished model. Outside of this issue everything seems ok. Am I missing something?

Claymore reported hashrate lower than average hashrate by 5.1%, Why?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 09:41 PM PDT

    Hi,

I'm mining ethereum with claymore 11.5 on ethermine (with AMD RX 570 4 GB cards), total reported hashrate (reported by claymore) shown on ethermine is 1890 mh/s, but ethermine average hashrate is 1794 mh/s (about 5.1% lower than reported). I would expect the average to be ~1% lower than reported hashrate due to Claymore's developer fee, but that's not the case. To top it off, ethermine is also showing 5% stale share rate, is this all normal? If not, how do I debug/fix it?

    Bat Mining WTC

    Posted: 01 Apr 2018 05:51 PM PDT

I'm BAT mining WTC. All my drivers are showing in device manager. However, when I open the mining software my gpus twitch but do not spin. I know right now that you can only use one GPU for WTC. So I've experimented with unhooking the other 5 to no success. any advice?
