    Ravencoin - Benchmarks?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 04:11 AM PDT

As the title suggests, has anyone benchmarked cards on Ravencoin? I know it's a profit switching coin so ymmv.

I have one rig with ASUS Twin 1060 6GB in it, reporting ~8765kH/S for the card

    Another reporting ~7295kH/s for a 1060 6GB

I also have a pair of 1050Ti's doing ~4924kH/S and ~4886kH/S (Same OC settings, Silicon lottery!)

    The 2nd rig is getting me around 14MH/s with 1x 1060 and 2x 1050 Ti's.

The 1st rig is getting me around 79911 kH/s (Different to the individual card stats).

This is my first venture away from Nicehash for GPU mining. This is also my first venture away from conventional single algorithm mining (ok, so the coin does algo switching). On my dedicated servers and some of the virtual machines I use for my private hosting I run Monero mining with a very low niceness to ensure that performance of the systems is not affected.

Who else is mining raven at the minute? I'm using the nevermore miner as it looks the "enemy" miner was pulled from github.

Amoveo Mining. Most profitable unknown crypto?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 06:46 AM PDT

Amoveo is a new and upcoming Cryptocurrency with great oracle technology. It's currently not available on any exchanges and has to be mined or bought OTC. Current total network hashrate is only ~4.5TH/s.

    http://amoveo.noncense.tech

Noncense chose Amoveo as its first Cryptocurrency and we're celebrating by having a raffle.

Mine a total of 0.5 VEO before April 10th and be included in the drawing for 1 VEO

    More information: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amoveo/comments/86vt5w/introducing_a_new_amoveo_pool/

Our payout threshold is 0.2 VEO.

Any GPU's to look FWD to ?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:59 AM PDT

I'm looking to get into AION mining when the mainnet will be launched.

At first I want to mine with 1 card in my "crypto rig". I was planning on waiting for the next cards, but it seems that the Vega 20 will be a workstation card.

So is the most recent card I can use the VEGA 56/64 ?

My best bet would probably be a 1070ti, but I have a problem with paying a premium for such an "old" card.

Or maybe I can get a second 980 for my main rig, and mine at night (but would prefer using the crypto rig)

    Your thoughts ? :)

Blower gpus in a grow tent?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2018 02:44 AM PDT

Sorry may be dumb but I've seen lots of pictures/posts of people mining in grow tents I can see it working for normal gpus but would blowers style gpus work or would too much heat sit on one site or would you need more exhaust?

Hash Auger 1.6 NVIDIA GPU/CPU Miner Manager Has Been Released

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 10:16 PM PDT

Hash Auger has been updated to version 1.6 and includes the following new features:

1.) Temporarily suspend mining on individual devices when the estimated earnings fall below the minimum value set by the user for each device and then automatically resume mining on those devices when prices improve. This is managed per device, so less profitable devices can be suspended while more profitable devices keep mining.

2.) The minimum percentage increase in prices required before the software will switch to a different algorithm/coin is now user-adjustable.

3.) Users can now define custom algorithm intensity levels for any miner that support this feature (currently Klaust, Nevermore-Raven, Tpruvot). Changing intensity levels from the miner's default can improve stability and/or increase performance depending on the miner, algorithm and device. Users can combine this new feature with device and algorithm specific over-clock profiles to finely tune their GPUs while still enjoying the benefits of automatic algorithm-switching.

4.) Included XMRig (CPU and GPU) miner just in case Cryptonight mining profitability improves after the upcoming fork.

5.) Added the option to subtract auto-exchange fees from MiningPoolHub price estimates.

6.) Upgraded Tpruvot to the latest release: now supports x12 (GalaxyCoin) and x16s algorithms.

7.) Fixed a display issue where the currency value of manually selected coins was not being calculated correctly for certain coins on some pools.

8.) Fixed a few issues specific to CPU benchmarking.

Other recent enhancements to Hash Auger include: * Benchmark revisions are now based on the miner's accepted hash rate instead of the average rate for even greater accuracy. *Custom over-clock profiles (GPU Clock, Memory Clock, Power Limit, Temp Limit and Fan Speed) that can be defined per algorithm/device and are automatically loaded as the software switches coins. * Supports 12 pools (AHashPool, AltTank, BlazePool, BlockMasters, BSoD, HashRefinery, MiningPoolHub, MiningPanda.Site, NiceHash, Yiimp.eu, Zergpool, Zpool) * Added a CPU Type drop-down list so that users can select the most suitable CPU Miner for their hardware. * Displays the output of most mining windows in an embedded tab so that the information is still accessible, but doesn't clutter your desktop. * Continued refinements to the handling and restarting of failed miners. * Option to ignore the MiningPoolHub auto-switch ports that are usually less profitable for GPU miners with only a few cards. * Usability enhancements such as the ability to stop/start individual devices and assign custom names to devices.

MSI AFTERBURNER not working with over 3 cards... New MOBO and lower hashrates?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 09:15 PM PDT

Any help would be appreciated, THANKS!

MSI afterburner not working on anything over 3 GPU... Anyone else have this problem? Works fine, then unplug in the 3th GPU and it reads all zero with the sliders greyed out...

    New z270p-d3 MOBO, g4400, 850w power supply X2, 4gb ram....

I just replaced the MOBO/CPU and added 1 card... Also the hashrates are lower, and GPU won't OC as good as with my old set up.. I was able to OC the 3 cards and get higher tital hashrates than with 4 cards in the new MOBO. The old one was out of an old computer my son had with an AMD processor from around 2012.. ( yes it's a small rig, it is my 14yr old sons project with me )

    Thanks for any help

GPU Mining is Dead! At least for now...here's an exit and reentry strategy.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2018 10:01 PM PDT

Get out while you can. I say this as a fellow miner who had 35 cards running last week. Don't be stubborn, cut your loses...here's the math:

Example: You have 10 1080ti's running Initial Investment: $11,000 ($1000/each +1000 for the rig) Sold today: $8000 Loss: $3000 - whatever you made so far Invest in crypto today: $8000 If it goes to $10,000 in 6 months: You're worth $12000. Net profit: $12,000 - initial investment of $11,000 = $1000

If you mine: Current earnings per day: $15 - $5 electricity = $10 Difficulty increase at only .5% daily which is minimal cuts earnings in half about every 140 days, which is generous. Earnings is 140 days: $7.50 - $5 electricity = $2.50 Earnings in 6 months: $0!!! Best case scenario you average $5/day over the next 180. Net Gain at today's prices: $900 Net Gain at $10,000 BTC: $1250 Value of your rig in 6 months after new cards have been released: $5000 Net Value: $5000 +$1250 = $6250 Net Profit: $6250 - 11000 initial investment = -$4750

Difference between mining and investing with bitcoin at $10,000 in 6 months: $5750

You can't argue with math folks. It's your money and your choice, but there is no scenario right now that shows mining is more profitable than investing the capital already spent on mining assets.

I started selling last week and the market is already getting flooded with cards and driving prices lower. In a couple of weeks you'll all have made the same painful conclusion as is laid out in simple math here. Stubbornness will cost you money and frustration. As a fellow miner I hope you make the decision that works best for you.

BOTTOM LINE: There is no scenario, because of increasing difficulty, where continuing to mine makes more than buying crypto at this point.

If you are stuck on mining I see one scenario that may allow you to mine profitably in the future. Don't sell the rig, just the cards. That's what I did. When the new cards come out, hopefully many have left mining, at least temporarily, and difficulty will decrease. With cards that are twice as powerful and a rig that is ready to go, you can jump on the bandwagon again on release, mine like hell until difficulty goes up, and sell your cards again to the late entrants for an inflated price.

    Good luck!
