We (∆ Delta) are nominated for the 'Best Mobile UI' Webby Award. Feel free to show us & the crypto marketplace some love!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 08:01 AM PDT

    Hi there!

Nicolas from ∆ Delta here again. Long story short: we were pleasantly surprised today when we noticed we are nominated for a Webby award in the 'Best Mobile UI' category! 😇

Without wanting to sound arrogant, we're really proud to represent the cryptocurrency community in these worldwide awards and we believe it shows that this market is growing up with more & more (digital) products achieving a level of quality that is needed to be able to get more people taking note of what's happening in this space.

If you're a Delta user & loving what we do, we'd super appreciate it if you could vote for us via http://wbby.co/mob-ui ! :) Would also be amazing if non Delta users that just want to give a crypto product a little push, back us in this! 🙏🏼

We also have a Tweet that could use some traction if you want to help that way: https://twitter.com/get_delta/status/981484104624607232

Last but not least, we'd like to thank every Delta user and especially the Reddit community, who have been super nice to us & gave incredible feedback. We're still taking it to heart and we'll be back this month with releases for both mobile, tablet & desktop. 👀

    Thanks!

Why DApps Can Take Crypto to the Next Level?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 04:01 PM PDT

What's up guys? I wanted to take a sec to talk about how important the DApp developers are to the adoption of cryptocurrency. It wasn't too long ago that crypto was mostly regulated to the realm of the computer mastermind. I remember these days well and I am happy to see them fade into the past. While I whole-heartedly believe in full-scale crypto adoption, it is obvious to someone who has been in the crypto-game that DApps have been the single biggest factor leading to additional crypto-investors entering the marketplace.

    Decentralized Apps -DApps

The crypto community is constantly expanding and as new investors join the marketplace it is important to remember that most of these investors would have never considered crypto if they weren't able to store their crypto on their mobile wallets or if exchanges were still operated solely in the dark.

Mobile apps have been the missing link in the crypto community and as more DApps continue to hit the scene, investors are getting even more flexibility with their holdings. Now-a-days you can do almost anything with your crypto via a DApp. Investors can easily track the marketplace from portfolio DApps and many even utilize API technology to allow for a single DApp to control your entire portfolio.

    Crypto Daily Living

While crypto adoption has been on full steam ahead since last year, for many people there is still a bit of confusion surrounding how to spend those sweet Satoshis you earned without having to convert your crypto back into fiat currency. Investors have long awaited more use case scenarios for their crypto and it appears this year will be the year that they get their prayers answered.

    Next Generation DApps

This year has seen huge leaps in the crypto sector forward with developers taking industry standards such as the protocol used for ERC20 tokens and implementing them into the development of even more useful DApps. CoinSafe and Akaiito are perfect examples of next level DApps that have incredible disruptive technology.

In the past, the cryptocommunity was not so robust and therefor it was far more difficult to make a DApp that, say, would connect crypto landlords with crypto-tenants. Last year changed all of this and now there are enough investors in the cryptocommunity to develop effective community -based DApps.

    Akaiito

Akaiito is one of these 3rd generation DApps that has the potential to elevate crypto adoption to the next level. This unique platform allows crypto investors to spend their crypto on services, rent, and it even features a robust online marketplace full of crypto friendly vendors. This is a huge step forward for the cryptocommunity who is desperate for a way to start replacing fiat currency in their day-to-day transactions.

Imagine waking up and sending your landlord a couple Satoshis for your rent. The concept is already here and thanks to innovative developers such as the Akaiito team, you could very quickly see the day where you never reach for your wallet and instead your phone is the key to your financial interactions. While it could take a few months before DApps such as AKAIITO truly change the marketplace, there is definitely a demand for these types of mobile applications in the cryptocommunity.

    CoinSafe

CoinSafe is a free DApp that allows businesses to start offering BTC as one of their current products. The DApp is perfect for introducing people who are unfamiliar with cryptocurrencies to BTC. The developers of the platform made sure to make the DApp able to be run on almost any device with simplicity being their main goal. This DApp works like a portable BTC ATM but is significantly less expensive. You can even look up other vendors in your area.

    What Will the Future Hold?

The future looks bright for the cryptomarket and the introduction of the Lighting Network to Bitcoin's blockchain will help to forward development even further. Developers have already begun creating LApps that utilize the Lighting Network's unique protocol to reduce BTC transaction fees to nearly nothing.

What do you think guys? Is the key to adoption in the palm of our hands? Or will there be other more influential factors coming into play here this year? Let me know in the comments below.

ever wonder who actually falls for these twitter scams?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:50 PM PDT

When scrolling through a bitcointalk page about the recent Verge attack linked in a post on the front page, I found this gem:

Sorry to mess up this thread and topic a bit, but after i do not get for hours an answer on twitter, neither does the email function on the Verge homepage work, nor does someone respond on the Verge Bitcoin thread i have to try my luck here.

I visited some hours ago the official Verge Twitter profil to read the news about the hash hack. While reading the tweed i noticed several messages offering a compensation for the attack by Verge. Send x Eth and you get some bonus back. Sounded legit to me as it was affilated to the hash attack and i suffered from it as well having had some hours only orphaned blocks on all my baikals, hence i fall victim to this damn scam on the official twitter page.

Now, while i have myself for sure some vault for this i'am seriously angry about how on the official verge twitter page 100s of scams and fake messages that say they got the ETH back are tolerated and nobody cares about it?!?! How is this possible. After i realized i got scammed i even made a post in this tweet that its a scam and to remove it asap, nothing happened and people still fall after that scam. Only on that scam by now 12+ Eth have been transfered the last hours.

Damn, i'am not a twitter guy and very rarely use it, but from an official Verge twitter profil i personal await its clean and at very least if this for some reason is not possible that there are warning messages about these scams!!!! But no, nothing, the whole official Verge Twitter profil is FULL of scams that are tolerated and people like me, fall victims to it. Fine, i lost some 1.8 ETH, but hourly these scams seems to collect a huge amount of ETH that way and nobody there at Verge cares?

So, there we have it. The people investing in wasting their money on Verge also happen to be the people falling for these twitter scams. what a coincidence.

Can Satoshi Nakamoto be awarded Nobel Prize sometime in future?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 12:38 AM PDT

I feel like he has actually ascended above that level to a massive extent. The magnitude of this will only be seen in the coming decades, especially since the overlap in knowledge between Nobel Prize committee economists and computer scientists is probably limited.

Haha. I am filling this because i suck and you suck too. Don't read this just continue and comment below. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

After the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook and Google Ban against Cryptocurrency & ICO ads seems like a complete bullshit. They are playing god and we finally have the power to stop it

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 03:09 PM PDT

I'm aware of the fact that many ICO's were just trying to scam people, but there are so many scam ads on Facebook and Google so I really think they are hypocrites. I see so many ads like:

    https://imgur.com/a/2vFkn

So why they decided to ban ads related to ICO's?

After Facebook Cambridge Analytica scandal I'm pretty sure they are afraid of decentralizing the data ads & privacy industry.Having so much information about us makes it possible for them to create super-targeted ads, which worth more for their clients.

Many big companies are using my data and I don't really care about it, to be honest. But when the largest companies in the world can just decide that anything that related to cryptocurrency, blockchain & ICO is a scam it feels like they don't deserve to have this kind of power.

So who has my data and what they are doing with it?

    https://medium.com/@liberdy/who-has-my-data-and-what-are-they-doing-with-it-2cd18a1a7a9e

Facebook & Google, You can ban our industry, but if you are doing so, ban also the online dating, make money from home, gambling ads.

Breaking News: Hacked Japanese Exchange Coincheck Accepts Takeover Bid

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 12:03 AM PDT

After being attacked by the ASIC past few days. Sumokoin has successfully forked to the new Cryptonight-Heavy Algo.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:09 PM PDT

Edit:the new algo is ASIC resistant.

a little run down of what happened last few weeks.

    1. Sumo is forking to its own algo, the reason for making an own algo and not following XMR can be found here.the algo works and is also beign used by other CN coins such as IBPC,Haven,STELLITE etc.
    2. ASIC were relentless in attacking Sumo. at the peak Sumo($3Mn) had a hashrate of 210MH/s, for reference XMR($3B)-1GH/s and ETN($130Mn)-220MH/s.
    3. other coins however were not successful in fending off the attacks. ASIC attacked karbo and mined 600 blocks in 20 Minutes by messing with time stamps. ASIC were also successful in attacking ETN, they disabled their mempool and it reached 27MB.
    4. the new algo doesn't require constant changes every six months and gives an option for CN who don't want to hardfork continuously. it also reduces the cpu contribution in favor of deterring botnets and strengthening the core miners who use GPU.

Cryptocurrency has changed my life for the positive, but I have one big issue with crypto which I believe is going to hold it back: you.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 12:05 PM PDT

Hear me out. I'm not here to talk shit on cryptocurrency. It has given me a new purpose. It's been fun to invest; it's been fun to sit tight on this wild ride. I believe that it's going to take over the world one day, but you people make me fucking despise the culture, and I firmly believe that mass adoption can only happen and benefit us/the world if we could only let go of what makes crypto so unique: its users.

When I was first getting into crypto, I purchased a (very) small amount of Ethereum which, after a little research, traded it for Steller Lumens. I was excited, I was proud, and I wanted to talk about it with my friends. Naturally, even though they were excited for me, they were still secretive and didn't really open up about some of the basics of what exactly I was doing. Crypto is complicated, and unless you get WAY too involved with how the actual technology works, you're sort of shooting in the dark. After purchasing a book and reading up about it, I have a much deeper understanding, but it is still a very complicated technology.

The truth is, Cryptocurrencies and the ideas that they represent aren't accessible to the masses. WHY should grandpa joe put money into this technology? Cash is safer, and for some reason, when he asks a simple question like "what's a good currency to look into?" he gets hit with WAVES of 20-somethings who know fucking EVERYTHING there is to know about how investments and the economy works, reprimanding him for not DYORing, as if he knows what that means.

When people look at Crypto from the outside, it just looks like we're celebrating "stocks for millenials", especially when we run our mouths about lambos, HODLing, FUD, mooning, shilling, and people don't understand that these coins are backed by companies who are building a PRODUCT and a means of purchasing goods and services. Who would want to be a part of a new trend that just seems like a bunch of cringey children patting each other's dicks because we know some stupid inside lingo?

On top of all of these goofy inside jokes that investors have, we tend to form cliques based on what we hold. "WTF are you doing holding XVG? BITCONNEEEEEEEEEECT!" "OMG!😭Can't believe I won ! Thank you Walton team ! ❤️ keep doing the great work. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🚀🚀🚀" Now it appears as if, instead of taking our own ideas seriously, we're more focused on putting each other down for our mistakes. How is that supposed to make this groundbreaking technology seem accessible to outsiders? We look like children, honestly. I haven't even mentioned how little we talk about how hard it is to ACTUALLY manipulate this technology, even though somehow private keys SEEM so easy to decode (which they aren't). People don't want to be afraid of cyber-attacks. They hear about 51% attacks and Ponzi schemes, as well as simply losing private keys and not being able to access their own money. People don't want to see the Suicide Prevention Hotline appear every time things drop. Are these crypto assholes killing themselves because they're bad with money? This fear comes from a lack of understanding.

ALL OF THIS CAN BE QUELLED BY EDUCATION AND CREATING A NEW, ACCEPTING CULTURE. Education, friendliness, enjoyment, excitement. Don't exclude people because they don't already know. We need to make the idea of crypto SIMPLE for people and give them the same excitement that crypto gave to us when we first started. We need to explain that THIS IS NOT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME. I think we need to remind ourselves that this is not a get rich quick scheme honestly. We can do this, but we have to change our attitudes and stop being so damn secretive, treating this gift of a technology as adults SHOULD treat this technology.

TL;DR you're all cringey assholes to each other and its scaring mass adoption away. Be nicer, be patient and educate newcomers. Crypto is not a get-rich-quick scheme, so stop treating it like it is.
