I'm the C.M.O for $PAC - sorry about the whole CMC error!

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 04:11 PM PST

Hi Ripple community I'm the C.M.O for $PAC proof /u/veternus check my post history.

As some of you might be aware $PAC artificially knocked Ripple off it's spot on CMC for a little while due to a bug with the circulating supply.

I actually hold ripple myself and am a big supporter of what Ripple aims to achieve so It was quite funny watching the mass hysteria when that happened. We appreciate the free press though, our coin has never gotten that much attention before.

It was nice to be amongst one of the big boys for a breif shining moment.

As you were ripple, as you were.

You can watch the talk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkrtA_bckGs

Appearantly, they are using xCurrent on money transfers between Germany and Turkey and planning on expanding that.

However, what I got from the talks was, regulators are the ones preventing the switch to cryptocurrencies (xRapid).

    XRP breaking free from Bitcoin?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 07:57 AM PST

The market seems bullish again to me, irregular but growing for the last 10 hrs, and XRP up from $0.80 USD to $0.84 in just the last hour. I noticed, however, that even though Bitcoin has changed by -7.9% the last 24 hrs, XRP has changed -2.1% - what does this mean? Can it be that the forseen Bitcoin Judgment Day is here and Ripple XRP is breaking free from Bitcoin? See the crypto asset list here: https://coinmarketcap.com/

Are we witnessing the dethroning of BTC?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 03:51 AM PST

I know that almost everyone is keeping a close eye to the dip. Probably there are people who are thinking of selling their coins because of it. I am not an expert but I want to share my point of view just to check if you guys think the same of differently.

Everyday I am reading articles about different coins that are better than BTC. So why is BTC on the top of the cryptocurrencies and why is everything so tied to it? Obviously BTC provides most of the liquidity in the altcoin market but this is about to change as more and more better options appear.

    Dethroning the BTC

This is about to happen. Soon BTC will not be the face of the cryptocurrency realm. I think so because it has almost no edge apart from its big price, which is good for the liquidity of the market, and that it is the most famous and integrated cryptocurrency. I imagine that there will be a BTC crash followed by all coins, like always. The difference is going to be that this time some altcoins will not follow it all the way down, they will correct the dip while BTC is still falling.

Do you think the same? Do you think we should be cautious at this stage, or do you think that we are far from "dethroning" BTC? Any other thoughts?

Why do people hate on Ripple? Help me understand.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 07:45 AM PST

Ripple has a vision, and a rock solid team who expands by the day. Pumping out partnership after partnership, meeting up at events like Goldman sachs, press conferances, actively spreading the word about their vision. More and more people are becoming aware of what ripple and XRP is and what they are trying to accomplish. Fair enough, people hate on ripple today because it is a centralized token who are going to be used by banks, which strives against everything crypto was made for in the first place. It is centralized because all the transaction nodes are currently owned by the Ripple company. However, they are planning to change that, by spreading the nodes across different big financial institutions all around the world, hence making it desentralized, and in my opinion, more decentralized than btc and ethereum. Considering 20% of the bitcoin in circulation is owned by 100 adresses, they could crash btc at any time they want, as soon as they're done manipulating the price and figured they have made enough money. There's also the unbalanced hashrate issue, and more than 50% of the total btc network hashrate is spread throughout only 4 pools, which could also be a security vulnurability. In my opinion, btc's real value around $1000, rest is speculation. Hence money invested into crypto is WAAAY lower than the current market cap, and you could only imagine what would happen to the price if these big players decides to dump their btc, and FUD on top of that. I like that Ripple becomes more independant from BTC by creating more liquidity from FIAT to XRP pairs, and I hope they focus a lot on this which Brad already stated in many interviews that they will.

That said, purely seen from an investment standpoint, I truly don't understand why people hate on XRP. It has already proven cabable of crushing every single other cryptocurrency in terms of % gain through 2017, and I believe in 2018 history can repeat itself. Isn't that what most people are here for? Maybe 10% who's invested into crypto actually genuinely cares about the ideology that you should have control over your own assets and no banks should hold it, and banks need to dissapear etc.. In reality, the definite majority of people are fine with banks holding their assets. They don't care enough to go through all this bullshit with being responsible for their own cash, handling private keys, key phrases and so on.. They just want it simple, and that's why I don't think BTC will be mass adopted and take over the global money system.. Another reason is that btc in its current state, is outdated tech, and no one can deny that. Once the lightning network expands that might change, but as of now it's not usable by the businesses. Why should we wait for btc to solve all its problems (high transaction fees, high transaction times, unpractical satoshi system, "buy 1 icecream for 15483 satoshis!"), when there's already countless of alts solving all those problems?

I might be out of my league here and there might be something I'm missing out on, but these are my current views on things and I'd love to hear your thoughts as well and discuss this. Cheers lads!

Cryptocurrency market liquidity. We need XRP.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2018 09:02 AM PST

We all know how great XRP is in terms of providing liquidity with great speed and low transaction fees. In this current climate Bitcoin is dragging the entire market down due to its inefficiencies and due to the new light that MtGox still holds thousands of Bitcoins and is dumping on the whole market. The issue is that the market relies on Bitcoin as a market leader and a primary means of liquidity via coinbase which in itself is a monopoly. To fix this market we need XRP to be listed on Coinbase, we need XRP to be the market leader and be used as a means of liquidty for all cryptocurrencies on the exchanges. If this can happen then the whole market can continue to progress.
