    Current dip

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 03:03 PM PDT

I'm currently running out of good sources to read or reassure me that this dip will turn around, been in XRP from around September last year, got greedy in December and didn't cash, Im 💯 sure we will get back to winning ways but until we disconnect from bitcoin could we go back to The teens? If anybody has any valuable promising info it would be much appreciated.

Thank you Ripple for helping make my dreams come true!

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 06:07 AM PDT

I have always loved programming and never wanted to really work a 9-5. I hated every second of it. I wanted to free lance so that I could work when and where I wanted too. Then I heard about crypto currency. I fell in love with it right away. I lurked/ lurk on all the crypto subreddits daily. I was a super early investor in ripple and many other cryptos. When the big price jump cam in December I cashed out a good chunk so that i can pay off most of my debts and follow my dream (I still have a lot of ripples to cash out). I really believe in the technology and plan on being a long term holder. Side rant from a business perspective before i left the corporate world ripple is one of the most talked about cryptos. Business love it, because it does have a team behind and a bit centralized (thought I would let you guys know). So with that done I set forth to become a free lancer and leave the stress of the 9-5. My first project that I did for myself just is a crypto currency price tracker: can be found here I have more to add to this and I will over time. Also guys HODL I think ripple has what it takes to really increase in value. :) Hope you guys have a good one.

TDLR; Thanks to ripple, I was able to have enough money to quit by day to day job and become a free lancer.

How to easily increase the XRP Price (GENIUS)

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 06:11 AM PDT

xRapid -- mechanics can be seen in this diagram

To increase the price, simply configure the liquidity provider interface from XRAPID differently for each leg:

    • Fiat-XRP leg to go via price forming exchanges (bitfinex/bittrex etc)
    • XRP-fiat leg to go via OTC pools which will not impact the price

And that way, the price will increase in a controlled manner which will be good for XRP and the cryptocurrency sector as a whole.

For example, transferring 10M USD to MXN --- involves a step to buy 10M USD of XRP --- configure this to route to Bitfinex - the price will rise by 27 cents (from looking at the current visible sell order book).

The subsequent conversion back to the destination currency - 10M worth of XRP to MXN --- configure this to be done on a non-price forming OTC pool. This way the price of XRP will not decrease -- i.e. not a net flat price impact.

    Woohah!

I'm sure that Ripple know that this is possible -- and hence Ripple can essentially raise the XRP price to whatever they want... it's in their interests to raise the price gradually over time - to prove to banks that the price is stable. So I think that post April 17th when Western Union go live, that's exactly what we will see --- a gradual increase back to the ATH -- then eventual stabilising at $10.

    Current Interesting Facts:

    • Ripple is 84 days since its all ATH: 1st Jan 2018
    • Ripple is now 86% less in value than its ATH of $3.84 To $0.5395

EDIT - Have submitted another thread with a diagram to help explain better

EDIT - Added ESCROW as an alternative to OTC for 2nd leg XRP liquidity

A brave new world. Open Banking in the EU and the threat of Digitisation.

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 01:04 PM PDT

I had a long write up for this discussing the pressure to evolve and how every generation builds upon the previous however I decided to keep it short as I don't want to bore anyone with my ramblings.

I will keep it short. Since the previous market crash, banks have been held very tightly by the grip of regulations through bodies such as the Financial Stability Board and global cooperation in the form of the G20 and regional ones such as the EU.

As the grip is now loosening and regulators are forcing banks to open up to increase competition through directives such as the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2) which for the first time will finally force banks to share their customer data. There will no longer be a monopoly held by banks on their customer information.

Another aspect is the threat of digitisation. Money and Banking in general has not evolved to meet the ever changing connected world. As doors are now being opened for digital financial institutions, companies and service providers can now offer banking services and compete with institutional banks. How will this work? Think of an organisation like Amazon (this is just an example) which offers and sells almost anything under the sky with a massive customer base spanning all corners of the world and still growing.

Amazon's customers still bank with old age institutions that have barely evolved and so does Amazon itself. Now imagine Amazon offers banking services to better meet its customers' needs. A debit/credit card with cash back or discount incentive when shopping on Amazon and also having your salary paid into your Amazon bank account. An eco-system thriving from end to end on Amazon offering incredible growth for the company.

Traditional banks are under extreme pressure to evolve due to the threat of digitisation. They are not taking blockchain lightly because digitisation is set to wipe out billions of dollars in profits across the world away from banks. This is not a matter of "IF" they adopt blockchain, it is a matter of when and the clock is ticking. Those banks that refuse to evolve will become extinct. The Stone Age did not disappear because the world ran out of stones.

    Where to store ripple

    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 07:45 PM PDT

Im trying to figure out the safest but simplest solution possible to store my xrp? dont have much, but still think its worth the safety.

From what i've researched and seen, people are saying a paper wallet and putting it on gatehub, and others are saying some sort of cold storage wallet like trezor etc.

Sorry to be one of "those" guys, but what would you guys recommend to store it on to be completely safe?
