Binance To Add "USD To Crypto" Trading Pairs

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 03:18 PM PDT

Let's stop sourcing OracleTimes and RippleNews (aka How to Spot Crypto Fake News)

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 10:16 AM PDT

So the title basically sums it up but here's my reasoning:

Hype is a terrible thing, especially in an insular, bleeding-edge market still shy of its first major large investor run in. And all it does is give more weight to speculation that can then be struck down and negatively affect not only the price but the optics of the asset.

We've seen this happen many times and it frankly shocks me that we haven't learned the following:

    1) If an article makes a claim of partnership or new deals, it had better have a NAMED or FIRST HAND (document, audio recording, photo evidence, video evidence) source. Otherwise, consider it bullshit and irrelevant to either the price/asset.

    2) Ok cool so they have a source of information, is that source valid? Is there a way to check the reputation and legitimacy of this source? (post history, affiliations, legal filings, business dealings, donors, etc)

    3) And even after all that, simply because things can be edited with freightening ability nowadays in all forms of media, you have to ask yourself for final confirmation:

"Is this true because I want it to be? Or is this true because it makes sense and has reason to happen given the evidence?"

Of course we're pro Ripple and/or pro XRP so we have our clear biases, which is exactly why that question needs to be asked, and then you sorta have to ask that of the site, and really check the site's biases and their history of reporting.

I've seen these rumour posts blow up all over Reddit, Twitter, and even in some XRPChat threads and it's not at all a good thing. And a lot of the time, it comes from either OracleTimes or RippleNews (I dare you, read any recent article claiming a big scoop from them, run it through the above criteria and see how you feel)

    TL;DR

In the face of crypto news and rumors, ask yourself:

    1) What's the goddamn source?

    2) Is that source even remotely credible?

    3) Does this "fact" make sense or am I/the website just too biased?

    And furthermore,

OracleTimes and RippleNews are fake news 9 times out of 10.

XRP adoption in Japan: Service that allows you to purchase real estate using Ripple XRP

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 03:02 PM PDT

The G20 signalled the starting pistol. Let the rat race begin.

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 09:18 AM PDT

Since the G20 financial summit tension has subsided. One can simply sit back and revel at the momentum and acceptance that is reverberating across the world. The blockchain and crypto-verse (sorry) is no longer a game of company partnerships and what use case a blockchain offers, it has become a rat race of nations across all corners of the world proclaiming they want to be the first to pioneer blockchain and digital assets.

A major study conducted by Mastercard & The Fletcher school at Tufts University concluded that the UK, Japan, UAE, Singapore, Lithuania and Hong Kong have some of the best established digital economies in the world. Other break out countries such as China and India are moving and evolving at a fast pace and may join the top spots within the next 5-10 years.

This comes to no surprise that the top countries mentioned are now coming out of the shadows to adopt blockchain tech and entice companies. Everyone wants a piece of the pie including underdogs:

The UK has announced a blockchain task force to lay the foundation and framework in creating a sandbox for blockchain companies to flourish. The carrot dangling at the end of the stick. http://uk.businessinsider.com/uk-chancellor-treasury-cryptocurrency-task-force-2018-3

The small island nation of Malta is a haven for gambling businesses contributing to a whooping 12% of its GDP (https://www.ccmalta.com/news/malta-blockchain?lang=hu-HU). Its no wonder they have moved quickly (with the help of its Central Bank) to start implementing legal framework encouraging crypto businesses to set up base on the island. One of the first to capitalise on this is one of the biggest exchange Binance https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-23/the-world-s-biggest-cryptocurrency-exchange-is-moving-to-malta

Singapore never shied away from revealing their interest in Blockchain tech from hosting conferences such as Money 20/20 where our beloved adopted father Brad Garlinghouse attended. Little did we know that behind the shadows of Money 20/20, Singapore and Lithuania were coming to terms with a collaborative deal opening doors for sharing fintech innovation https://www.finextra.com/pressarticle/73055/singapore-and-lithuania-agree-fintech-collaboration-deal

I can go on and on about the UAE, Hong Kong and even Venezuala but I will leave you with one country that may shed some light to all this and that would be Japan. It has recently been revealed that Japan hosted a roundtable meeting behind closed doors inviting regulators and central banks from several nations including UK, Hong Kong, France, UAE, Singapore, Canada and Australia. https://www.ccn.com/japan-quietly-hosted-a-blockchain-roundtable-for-central-banks-regulators/

So what exactly does this all mean? As more and more countries compete to capitalise on the blockchain and the new digital economy, this can only speed up innovation and acceptance of crypto-assets. This new digital economy will need a superfast highway to transfer value. If only there was a company that has shown potential with not only its products but leadership and eagerness to work with the system......

The Coinbase infatuation has to stop

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 02:43 PM PDT

Coinbase adding XRP in January would have been possibly great news, driving adoption. Coinbase still holds great relevancy in the crypto space and are driving adoption with new novel concepts such as the Index fund.

But Chasing for a Coinbase addition is harmful to the community in many ways. It makes the community toxic and brings the wrong type of individuals aboard. The ones who are here to make a quick buck and will bring about negativity after the slightest dip or FUD.

We should rather in the meantime be patient and drive healthy adoption because whether Coinbase happens or not - XRP, in my humble opinion will succeed.

The other problem with the Coinbase infatuation is that is has caused a short-sightedness amongst many, a defocus on the long-term picture. In a way a mentality where Coinbase MUST happen, let me tell you Coinbase although an easy-accessible platform for new crypto users is not necessary for a quality project such as XRP to succeed globally.Remember this is the project with the most real-life applicability as of now.

Let us move forward and pay attention to issues that require real discussing and addressing.

    Binance Ripple Withdrawal = Fast

I love how fast Ripple is. To withdrawal from Binance to my wallet takes 1m 18s. I bet 1m17s is just Binance processing.
Why anyone uses bitcoin for purchases makes zero sense. Bitcoin takes forever.

Truly Ripple is ahead of the curve, no?

Thanks go to u/mikenard77 for sharing the other day... otherwise, I would have been none the wiser. I believe the sweet, sweet ramifications of the interface allowing anyone access to the Ripple Network is, in itself, game changing to say the least. Albeit old hat for some, I think it needs more publicity. Trade what you want without the middle man. The only thing you might feel is the tiny flare of heat from the XRP burn. I know DEX's are on the rise, but this has already been there, done that.

It demands, it supplies. Go take a gander.

Alright, enough rambling. I actually do have a question. Hopefully together we may find an answer.

I understand most of the functions of the interface, but I am curious. Let's say you wanted to 'cash out.' Can you send your fiat to an address? If so, is that even possible at this stage? Or, would you just have to send your XRP to a traditional exchange to get the money out? Obviously it would be fastest to send XRP anywhere, but one would think that eventually you could send whatever to wherever you please using the Ripple Network. I suppose in due time and mass adoption bank addresses might become a thing? Maybe not. Maybe I am thinking about this all wrong.

Any enlightenment is definitely welcome. Cheers.

tldr: Show me the money Ripple Network.

    xVia: Another game-changer for Ripple

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 03:20 AM PDT

This product offering from Ripple (which can utilise XRP for optimised efficiency) will catch the eye of big MNC's that currently send account payments around the world using legacy systems.

I have spend a lot of time the past 6 months thinking about the possibilities of xRapid whilst this gemstone escaped my notice to a degree. When you read more about xVia, you start to realise just how much this product can help global companies (not banks, FI's etc) increase the efficiency of their accounting and not only save lots of money, but also free-up available capital.

I think that once Ripple has their magic 200 customers on xCurrent, they can start to work on their other verticals xRapid and xVia.

Keep an eye out for announcements later this year for MNC's trialing xVia.

XRP will shine going forward. Crawl, walk, run.

Cross-border yes, but what about from my checking to my HYS account?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2018 01:12 PM PDT

I know that ripple is interested in the cross-border market; but man... why is it taking a week to move and settle money from my credit unions checking account to my HYS at another US based bank! It's annoying.
