    proposal / Idea : Send Litecoin without 3th party via SMS through SmartContracts

    Posted: 31 Mar 2018 08:36 AM PDT

    Today I had some time to simple write a smart contract, based on Ethereum, because as I know such contracts wouldnt be possible now on top of Litecoin - looking forward to RSK ( https://www.rsk.co/ )

    Because of the current discussion about a Litecoin SMS Feature, this is just a example of how it could work, security probably needs to be improved but anyway just a concept.

    The current state: sending Coins via SMS ( offline/online ) isnt that kind of a deal, you only have to send your local generated transaction to a relay that brodcasts your transaction to the network. The downside is that you have to know the recipient public key. Thats it.

    On the other hand, what is if it would be possible to send coins to anyone ( SMS, Whatsapp, Mail, .. ) without knowing its public key. Because of that there is the idea that the sender locks the amount within a SmartContract thats stored on the Blockchain secured with a password. -> http://thequotes.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Albert-Einstein-Quotes-9.jpg

    -> Create: "<sender_public_key>","<Password>"

    The Sender now send a sms command to the recipient, if Loafwallet is installed ( ->Download ) it is executed with the call Parameter and automatically call the contract

    -> setRecipient: "<receive_public_key>","Password"

    -> withdraw: "Password"

    Everything done.

    The Contract was built in https://remix.ethereum.org When you first visit the page, the text editor is preloaded with some code, erase all of that text and replace it with the provide code.

    github - code

    -> The Security risk is to send the Password - of course encrypted but anyway you have to send it. A unique secure Element would be to know something form the recipient a middle man cant know, like a UID and use that as Salt.

    Okay so hear me out. I'm completely serious.

    It's been proven over history that most mainstream technology has flourished due to its use in relation to adult entertainment.

    What can we do to encourage use of LTC as a method of payment from porn studios, cam girls, premium subs for tube sites etc?

    If you look at how DVD became the status quo abd other tech you'll see that adult media played a huge role in its adoption into other industries.

    Thoughts and ideas?

    Bring back old subreddit skin

    Posted: 31 Mar 2018 03:54 AM PDT

    Perhaps we should bring back the old skin this subreddit had pre 2017. I feel it was more true to what litecoin was and better represented it. Also the "segwit inside" thing should be removed as that is no longer relevant.
