One GPU in rig has wildly fluctuating hashrate Posted: 14 Mar 2018 04:34 AM PDT Currently have a seven GPU mixed Nvidia setup for mining eth via claymore miner. Out of the 4 1070ti, 3 1060 GTX 6GB . There's one GPU (1060 GTX 6gb) that has variable hash rate drops from 18mh/s down to 5mh/s . It's GPU0 and it shares a power cable with GPU4 (also 1060 GTX) . I've tried limiting the power of the two gpu on the same power line to 60%, doesn't help. Also tried switching out GPU0 to verify it wasn't a dud. It seems to always be GPU0 and not GPU4. Also tried resetting GPUs back to stock clocks and 100% power, no change in hash rate drop . My PSU is an EVGA 1300W, motherboard is Asus z270a. Any thoughts on what could be the cause? Is whattomine.com Down for Everyone or Just Me? Posted: 14 Mar 2018 07:56 AM PDT Title says it all. I have been getting a 404 Forbidden error all day when trying to bring up whattomine.com in my browser. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Mar 2018 07:43 AM PDT Newegg isn't really having a sale but they did make a list of the top raspberry pi kits. Has anyone found a useful way to use the Pi with your mining? I've hear of people trying to run nodes but I've never found a guid that appeared to be stable. But I'm also interested in anything Pi related to mining. [link] [comments]
Tips For Managing Pet, Dog, Cat Hair & Rig Building? (Besides Killing/Shaving/Moving...) Posted: 14 Mar 2018 05:49 AM PDT Like the title says, does anyone have tips for managing pet hair? What is your cleaning regime? All of my fans have cat hair spinning off of them. I presume I'm going to have shut them down for some maintenance and clean all of the crap off. Also, any pictures would be appreciated for ideas. I saw another post that someone put wire mesh on their PC. I might try to do something similar once the rig and rack is fully built. My rigs are homemade so wire meshing them isn't going to be easy. Considering buying rig frames because it would be alot easier/more efficient to wire mesh those puppies (pun intended!). The temperature during mining with your GPU? How to reduce loads for GPU? Posted: 14 Mar 2018 01:08 AM PDT Ok, just started mining yesterday and I got 2 questions:
Thank you. [link] [comments]
Why do you small timers even bother? Posted: 14 Mar 2018 07:06 AM PDT Mining is really only for the big boys with the big farms and gear. Why even waste your time mining for peanuts and getting like a dollar per day. all that time wasted when you can just make money elsewhere and just buy your crypto and be way better off. Difficult is only going to increase as more big farms are set up. [link] [comments]

How to look for good datacenters and what are some good rates? Posted: 13 Mar 2018 09:38 PM PDT I am looking into datacenters but don't know a single thing about them. Any help would be appreciated :) [link] [comments]
Anyone putting in a little down time with the HTC Vive? Is it worth it? Posted: 13 Mar 2018 09:38 PM PDT Thinking about getting one but I'd have to take my sole rig down by one just to play. Thoughts? Not that it matters but I've got a 6x1080ti Aorus rig [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Mar 2018 08:57 PM PDT I have GPU-Z, Nvidia Inspector, and MSI AB. I noticed that one of my cards had way lower hash rates than my other ones so I stopped mining to see what happened at idle. At idle something is still utilizing one of my cards such that the GPU load is around 60% at idle instead of 0% like the other cards. I'm running Windows 10. Any recommendations to hunt down the culprit? I ran into this problem once before with my system when I was using one of the cards to power a monitor. I switched to the onboard graphics and it went away. I just moved my rig and I'm now running headless. I suspect that if I move a monitor over to the Rig and fire it up with the monitor plugged in to the onboard graphics it'll stop. Why is my rig allocating resources to this other GPU when I'm running headless? My BIOS is set to use onboard gfx first. I also just tried plugging in an unconnected HDMI cable into the onboard HDMI port and booted up the rig but that didn't fix it. EDIT: Well that didn't take long to address. I'l leave this here for other people to search on in the future. Basically when you remote into your PC it has to use some graphics processing power. We want it to use the onboard graphics so as to not sap resources from your mining cards. However, in order for the system to recognize the onboard Intel HD gfx something has to be plugged in, and not just a cable, an actual device. So I just ordered one of these to simulate it. I'm sure you could make one with a spare HDMI cable but I'll pay $10 for convenience. With this plugged in the system will recognize your Intel HD gfx and use that when you remote in instead of one of your cards. [link] [comments]
Recommendation for a 7-10" HDMI screen for a rig Posted: 13 Mar 2018 01:13 PM PDT Anyone using any smalls screens for their rigs? Looking for a couple of these screens and not sure which one is best to get for a relatively small price. If any of you guys have any recommendations I would appreciate it. [link] [comments]
Malware Bytes now scans for CCminer and CPUminer. Posted: 13 Mar 2018 04:36 PM PDT It wont let me mine without quarantining the programs. Just so no one looses out on mining time. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Mar 2018 07:52 PM PDT I have been running a business for about two and a half months, building and maintaining miners, consulting and reselling hardware. Business has taken off a hell of a lot faster than I could have planned. In just two and a half months I've done ball park $100K in revenue. My first choke point was getting hardware. I am now working with two US based suppliers and can get pretty good pricing in bulk. Yay choke point gone. Now I have so many people wanting me to house their rigs for a monthly storage fee plus electricity costs. I am maxed out at my house and my business partner's warehouse. I have been looking at a quite a few warehouses and it got discouraging. I live in Denver so property (rent or lease) is crazy. Trying to find something that had ample power, ventilation, cooling and security that fit our budget and timeline seemed impossible. I toured one today that seems PERFECT. A little over 1400 Sq FT. Plenty of power (400 plus amps, 220V). The power outlets are even perfectly placed so I won't have to use extension cords (which are a fine and no go for fire inspection by the city). There is a seven ton AC unit in the room, and it has ventilation for heat. 4 exhaust fans (well over 300 CFM) as well as marijuana grow hoods with vents and exhaust fans built into them that hang from the ceiling. It also has video cameras everywhere. When looking at the place I mentioned how great it was and how I would likely just run the exhaust fans and some intake fans (with screens) for cooling 9 months out of the year. When it's 90F outside, sure ill kick on the AC if needed. The guy showing it to me was adamant that it would be cheaper and better to keep the room a closed system and run the AC. As an engineer I don't agree with his logic and I think it would be a lot cheaper and more effective to have an open system with a slightly negative pressure in the room. Thoughts? Anybody use a HP server PSU in a standard case? If so, how did you mount it? Posted: 13 Mar 2018 07:44 PM PDT I've got the opportunity to move a couple of my rigs to a colocation facility where I can keep them for dirt cheap. The only catch is the rigs will need to be rack mountable so I'm looking at options now. I think I have everything I need figured out except the power supplies. I'm currently using HP server PSUs with breakout boards but have yet to figure out a way to mount them in a standard case. I thought about 3D printing a sleeve that would mount in the standard ATX spot and then have the HP PSU slide into it but wanted to see if anyone had any better idears. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Mar 2018 07:43 PM PDT Hey guys. I've got 36 cards mining right now mostly just mining Eth. I'm waiting for it to overtake the bitcoin market cap and moon. We can only hope. But I'm curious what you guys like to mine. Any cool alts that we should all think about mining? [link] [comments]

EVGA 80+ 450W for 1 RX 570 enough? Posted: 13 Mar 2018 07:03 PM PDT Gonna add 1 more RX570 to my mini rig. Got a dual PSU cable for $5, and have a spare 450W 80+ rated EVGA lying around. Will this be safe enough to power just 1 570 24/7 for 200 days? Or I could spend $39 on a seasonic 450W Gold 80+...but why waste $39 tho? As I will only save around $10 per year using a Gold vs 80+. Also is it safer to run 24/7 on a gold 80+ vs 80+? [link] [comments]
GTX 1070 doesn't seem to boost on any Miner, but it does in benchmarks or games. Posted: 13 Mar 2018 10:46 PM PDT I am new to mining and I have my 1070 mine some 0xbtc when i'm not home. I have a frequency/voltage curve on afterburner set to 1930mhz@862mV that every app except miners follow. I have both windows and nvidia power settings set to max. power, and I disabled P2 states via nvidia profile inspector with no luck. Has anybody experienced this also? [link] [comments] |
