In the last ~18 months most of my wallet work was focused on mitigating BTC limitations: fee warnings, fee estimations, unconfirmed tx chains, tx delays, RBF, mempool drops, etc... BCH brought back the possibility of looking forward and plan great new features. - Matias Alejo Garcia, Open source dev at @Bitpay: Insight, Bitcore, Copay, Wallet-service.

    Bought my first BCH today

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 07:12 PM PDT

I hodl BCH from before the fork but today was the first time ive increased my position of BCH with fiat. Ive been in BTC since 2013 and im too emotional about it. Was hard to watch the transaction times and fees become unusable. Price rises helpd get through it but thats not why i got involved from the beginning. I want my transactions on chain. Its as simple as that. I love wtudying the block explorers and see indisutqble, irreversible transactions at play.

Im going to start treating BCH today the way i treated BTC for 4 years. Use it, rebuy, introduce it to people by actually setting up a wallet for them and sending them coin so they can feel it.

Im not abandoning BTC but my buys and interaction will now be focused on BCH. Thanks to this sub which actually has intelligent conversation and not simply lambo talk. You guys helped me come to this realization.

People say that we should stop focusing on BlockStream Core and instead focus on BCH and its own merits. But Derek Magill has an excellent article explaining how its not possible: "The fact is that the good things about Bitcoin Cash are inseparably bound up with the bad things about Bitcoin Core."

Introducing on-chain betting with Bitcoin Cash on yours.org

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 09:52 PM PDT

    https://www.yours.org/content/introducing-on-chain-betting-with-bitcoin-cash-on-yoursorg-688fc0b16715

    Hi everyone,

I have been suggesting the makers in the community to make an on-chain sports betting website for a while now but as far as I see no one has stepped up. So I decided to try to run a sportsbook myself on yours. This is my first bookie experience. I actually want a no-sign up required service. But that's later.

    Rules

    1) Tip me in less than $1 amounts.

    2) Make a comment with the name of the game and result.

    3) If the total tips are more than $20, please don't tip anymore. My bank has a limit and this is just an experiment.

    4) This is not trustless. You have to trust me. Bet small please. We are doing this for fun.

    5) If you see a serious flaw with this model, please let me know. There are no commissions on tipping here, so that should be OK. Comments may be edited later. If you do, I will just return your bet.

    6) I will close betting before the first game begins and update this post.

    Today's games are:

    Besiktas vs Bayern

    Odds: Besiktas (6x) - Draw (4.5x) - Bayern (1.5x)

    Barcelona vs Chelsea

    Odds: Barcelona (1.35x) - Draw (4.75x) - Chelsea (8x)

Reddit note: I prefer you bet on yours.org but tippr bot if fine as well. Same rules apply.

This later part of this article (and first comment) explains how we can scale on-chain to a billion users. Even Lopp understands it!

WOW! The truth finally comes out of a Bitcoin Core Trolls mouth....

"I don't really care if the devs decide to change >the protocol, centralize, and abandon >cryptography all together and use actual >coins. As long as it is called "bitcoin" and the >symbol is BTC then that is what it is.

Bitcoin Cash is not Bitcoin. It is not known by >the BTC symbol either, but BCH.

    ?????????????????WTF???????????????????

That's like saying I don't care if BMW decides to use Toyota parts and engineering and completely abandon all BMW technology. As long as it has a BMW symbol on the car then that's what it is.

What is under the hood is way more important than the symbol that is attached to it. What is under the hood and the technology behind it is what gives BMW its value.

I received an invoice from a merchant using Bitpay. I'd like to pay with BCH, but the format is a URL.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2018 03:06 PM PDT

I use a Trezor, and I'm not sure how to do this.

The receive address in the invoice looks like this: bitcoincash:?r=https://bitpay.com/i/<numbers and letters>

Trezor does not see this as valid. I found instructions to use this type of address with Electrum and BTC, but when I tried following the steps with ElectronCash, it does not work.

    Any suggestions?
