Do you buy goods and services with Bitcoin? Or do you Sell your Bitcoin for goods and Services. Posted: 06 Mar 2018 02:04 AM PST Just a thought on how buying and selling are interchangeable, and when you buy bitcoin an unavoidable equivalent event also happens. For example: Bob buys a car from Alice for $5,000. This can be re-written as; Alice buys $5,000 from Bob for a car I thought this as I saw a comment on a mainstream news article about bitcoin, the commenter was saying that anyone who bought bitcoin in 2010 would be selling it all for USD and this means that Bitcoin will eventually fail as everyone wants to sell for Fiat. But what is happening as well, is that dollars are being sold for bitcoin. Just like some Real Estate investors buy bitcoin for Penthouses in Dubai. I guess my point is; neither buying or selling should be emphasised, more accurately, a transaction or an exchange took place. I'm sure this observation has been made hundreds of times before, but worth repeating I feel. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 05 Mar 2018 04:02 PM PST I have a hard time believing the "market cap" is actually representative of the total value from other currencies that have flowed into BTC. (IE: It is, rather, the current price * number of mined bitcoin). Are there reputable estimates of how actual purchases of BTC affect the price / market cap? IE: What would happen if $1 billion USD flowed into BTC? What about $1 trillion? Is it possible to know? [link] [comments] |
