SBI Virtual Currencies will list XRP exclusively at Launch

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 08:06 AM PST

SBI Virtual Currencies will be the first in the world to list $XRP as its primary fiat pair

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 08:45 AM PST

In the midst of all this Tether Controversy... I just used XRP for its exact usecase.

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 01:58 PM PST

Hey guys, Im hodling my XRP through this rough period of FUD by I liquidized a lot of my altcoin positions as they will likely take further hits as people look for stability.

I had exchanged this for fiat on an exchange I dont fully trust (wont say name). So in order to secure my funds I literally used XRP as a courier to get my fiat onto Bitstamp, an exchange I already trust, with basically zero slippage in the price and it happened super fast.

I just realised I literally used XRP as a source of trust for liquidity and speed where monetary protection mattered. If I had to do that with fiat, it couldve taken a week.

This entire situation just absolutely confirmed to me exactly why XRP is destined for success. When I was under pressure, I trusted XRP over fiat (as well as all other crypto options), banks will soon follow suit.

Most of us have no chance but to HODL...

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 05:52 PM PST

Let's be honest. Most of us have no choice but to HODL at this point. I'd say, other than the OG's on this board, the majority of us bought Ripple when it was at least over $2.00.. some even when it was over $3.00 (I'm guilty). Where it's at now, what are you going to do, sell?

This board has kind of become a circlejerk of potential around Ripple. IDK feels like the opposite of FUD, if that's a thing.

Who here comes from a non day-trading stock investing background?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 06:45 PM PST

Curious to hear people's thoughts about putting money in and walking away for a while. Are you used to doing it? Have you done it for any significant period of time in this market?

I personally, have been investing in the stock market through my IRA for years. I've learned to put my money in and not watch it on a daily basis. I think it's valuable in a market like this especially because I've resigned myself to the fact that I can't time the market. I am okay with putting my money in to a company I trust and walking away for years. Don't get me wrong - I have chased penny stocks before but I quickly realized how pointless that was - I have never won in the long term. So I am holding on to my ripple with money that I am comfortable losing (even though I would be a little sad if it went to 0).

    Where's my bag-holders at?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 01:07 PM PST

Hey all! I bought pretty close to the ATH and since we're slip-sliding down let's have some fun with it!

    1) Where'd you buy in at? (was it first buy?)

    2) Did you buy any dips after getting boned?

    3) Planning on buying? (What price point?)

    4) Weak hands at any point, or holding on?

    5) Is there a "bottom" where you will cut your losses?

    6) Will you bail when you reach your buy-in (or, break-even if you loss-averaged down)?

    7) Do you have a price target in mind to sell? Or just seeing how far this will go (up OR down!)?

    8) Bonus question: How scrood are you?

Answer any you'd like and take this chance to commiserate with your fellow bag hodlers!

For me: 1) January 7th at $3.48, first buy. Was SO DUMB and FOMO'd hard (was the second ATH).

    2) Bought what I thought was a dip, ~1.38 (Jan 23rd). Not too bad. Smaller amount.

    3) Planning on buying more. More than I bought at 1.38, but less than I bought at 3.48... I've already pissed off my spouse enough :P

    4) Thought about selling, but bought instead. I'm okay with that decision.

    5) Nah; this is play money.

    6) Nah; this is play money :)

    7) Either I will see how high it goes, or sell if my meager investment pays off my mortgage!

    8) Not screwed at all! I had a lot of fear to began with and only put in what I was willing to burn at the Casino that weekend anyway!!! This has been a far more educational experience, and I have not technically lost anything yet!!! :)

    Stay positive guys!

Serious Question - NOT FUD - Looking for opinions

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 05:00 PM PST

    Hey Guys,

So I am looking for some serious replies.

I know that I am responsible for my own investment choices but I wonder if any of you are experiencing the same feeling at the moment?

I invested a considerable amount around the 0.50 mark, I sat through the almost $4 event and didn't sell due to wanting to wait 12 months for the cap gains discount.

Since then XRP has been subjected to ongoing falls. CMC, Korea Ban, Bloomberg Article it has been unrelenting.

Despite all the good news that comes out the price keeps falling. I have tried to defend XRP against FUD both on here and amongst my friends and family but I am wondering if they are right?

In your honest opinion, do you think XRP will rise soon? Please don't bombard me with "Sell then!" or "HODL" or "FUDster!". None of that is helpful.

I only had a partial backup of my Toast wallet and almost lost my ripple.

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 07:08 AM PST

I recently purchased a new phone and when I went to recover my toast wallet I discovered that I only had a partial backup. I had backed up my wallet to a location that had a character limit so I lost everything from the last 2 characters of ppsecret onwards. I only had 66 ripple in there but I was determined to get it back. I created a new wallet and compared the backup to the backup that I already had. I noticed that the headers were labeled like ppsalt, rpsalt, ppsecret, rpsecret. I suspected that stood for pp - passphrase and rp - recovery phrase. I also noticed that the characters were in Hexadecimal so the 2 missing characters in ppsecret could only have 256 possible combinations. I decided to take what I had and copy the rpsalt and secret from my new wallet and then put 00 at the end of my ppsecret and start using the toast wallet backup checker to find what went in those last 2 spots. After about 20 minutes of checking I finally found a validated code. I loaded it into the recover from backup function in toast wallet and was able to recover my wallet and my ripple. Needless to say after all that I will be making multiple backups.

TLDR: I Frankensteined my backup code and manually bruteforced 2 characters until I recovered my ripple wallet.

Would you like to pay with Crypto? Opinions sought after!

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 01:51 PM PST

I need your opinions on a project that i'm currently working on with partners. Since it is currently still not really possible to purchase Goods with Bitcoin and co. we are working on an online shop solution that does exactly that. The idea is, to work as a payment proxy between you and the company. Let's take Amazon as example. You choose the product of your liking from their platform, and send us the payment in a cryptocurrency that we do accept. (XRB,XRP,etc.) Once confirmed we arrange the shipment to you. As is evident, to make it easy for both parties, currencies that are fast and set low in their TX fee are favourable for this kind of deal. (And many others of course) To make this a feasible business we would take a nominal fee for every transaction. I would like to hear your opinions, on if you would use such a service. And if you think we would bring something new to the crypto table.

    Thank you for reading

    Current down trend?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 10:25 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

After reading that South Korea will be ending ending anonymously trading bitcoin and the U.K. Playing with the idea as which has creating some dips in the market, I'm wondering how and why this would affect ripple? As a centralized crypto wouldn't this basically have no affect? If so then why is it dropping as well?

Anyways hodl and looking forward to your responses!

    Ripple 'Facts' thread

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 10:23 PM PST

Would anyone be interested in starting a 'Ripple Facts' thread? I know it's hard to get 'facts' with crypto, but I thought it could be made up of a list of:

-Technical facts: transaction time, speeds, scalability

-Current partnerships and which platform they're utilising

    -Current stages of testing

    -Other relevant news

-Upcoming stages in the XRP adoption plan

    -Dates/details of escrow

    etc etc etc

I'd personally do this myself as I've been reading heaps, but don't really have the time right this moment, and feel something like this (especially with sources!) could be helpful to this community as time goes on.

Potentially if you want to add your 'facts' and their source in the comments and I could moderate? Or even if you want to use this idea to start your own thread! Let's get the information together!

    Peace
