First step is to get people to use LTC, next step is to get companies to accept LTC, third step is to get companies to use LTC rather than convert straight to fiat, and last step is to get companies to give incentive using LTC much like some companies give discounts for using cash over credit.

Hold a lunch an learn at your business. Have them all download Coinbase or Loafwallet before the meeting.

During the meeting, give a Blockchain 101 presentation (I have created one for my business that I could give) and send a couple people on opposite sides of the conference room a fraction of a Litecoin (.05 each) and then have them send it to the person next to them. By the end of the presentation (assuming 20-40 people), the Litecoin should return back to you. Show them the remaining balance of the .1 you sent to demonstrate mining fees and how much cheaper they are than credit cards.

If you convince even just 20% of the room, they're going to show their inner circle and so on.

Downvote me to shit. I just sold all my coins (btc and ltc). I've been a long time holder since December 2013. The past month has been very stressful for me.

I know more about holding than probably half of you. I held through the 2013 crash, through the August crash from last year and up until today.

I didn't sell at a loss, I still made something but lately I've been too stressed out and this downward trend is just the last straw.

I've invested only 10% of my savings, I invested only what I can afford to loose, if I would have sold in December at the ATH I could have increased my net worth by 50%.

It sucks but I'd rather risk and pull out now than loose most of my profit.

    I'm finally stress free.

I love litecoin and might get back but until then, see you at the bottom...or at the top, time will tell.

In order to increase litecoin value we need to buy! It's the basis of economics. Supply vs. Demand.

I have some Litecoin stuck in the void because I *think* my transaction fee wasn't high enough. What can I do? (x-post /r/ledgerwallet)

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 04:12 AM PST

I originally posted this to /r/ledgerwallet but I figured someone here might be able to help me too so I am crossposting here.

    Okay here is the story:

I was trying to figure out what the lowest fee that I can use to send litecoin is, and so I set custom fees and set it to "1 satoshi per byte" on the Ledger Wallet Chrome App. I feel like this is a typo on the app and it meant litoshi?

Anyways, this wasn't my fuckup, the transaction that I set to be "1 satoshi per byte" actually went through! In fact, it went through in the next block and all was fine. Here is the transaction hash and as you can see the fee is extremely low at 0.00001000 LTC and went through.

However here is the problem. Since that transaction was so fast, I sent another (bigger) transaction with the same fee of "1 satoshi per byte", this transaction was sent around 30 minutes after the first one was confirmed.

Well, that was 3 days ago and it is still unconfirmed.

The ledger wallet app says that the transaction "identifier" is 95c11757d2d8e0693c351c52135e52e5b3b34bf81628b3ed6180881da04d1054, but when I search this up on any blockchain explorer, I don't even see the pending transaction. I tried sending a different transaction with "50 satoshis per byte" as well and it has also been unconfirmed for 3 days (identifier: ca787d2447e0547ea5d000ff2fca0ae2d9a7659391d96407cbc6f95b8212f791)

What happened? Is there any way I can get this transaction confirmed by increasing the fee or something? I searched it up and it seems like if I open my wallet on Electrum I can use their system to double spend and cancel my first transaction. However, my litecoin wallet is Segwit and when I downloaded Electrum it wouldn't open my segwit wallet.

By any chance can someone help? :/

Trying to get a local business to accept LTC; where do I start?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 08:49 AM PST

    Hi all,

My friend is a plastic surgeon in New Orleans and wanted to know more about Litecoin, how and why he should accept it as payment. I don't know where to start.

Does anybody have a guide or template I can send to him?

    Just to reiterate;

What is Litecoin and why is it beneficial to merchants to accept it?

What's the first step he can take to accepting Litecoin as payment and how do the small details work?

Anything will help! Really want to get him into it. It'd be cool to hear somebody paid for Botox in Litecoin lol.

    What matters

    Posted: 30 Jan 2018 05:19 AM PST

Many people seem to only care about the price of LTC. Will it go up, down? Why didn't it react to this news? Is it because the market is bearish/declining? Let's jump a few year ahead. The important step which will be remembered will not be the price of a coin on a particular date, it will be about whether or not it has been adopted as a payment method over the internet.

The historical/idealistic reason why the concept of a cryptocurrency has been created is very simple. You can buy a book with cash in practically any shop in the world, but when it comes to the internet, this is impossible. You need to link your identity to what you buy and at the same time lose your anonimity/privacy. I am idealistic and hope we will manage to maintain a high level of privacy even in the cashless society which is currently being built.

I entered crypto seven months ago to speculate, but the tech and people (in particular u/coblee) I found are in my opinion revolutionary and essential for the coming years/decades. The gains to be made are personal and close to random (general market movement). One day the bubble will pop and we will all wake up with peanuts. What will remain will be the infrastructure and the technology developed around a coin. These are our best chances of regaining momentum when the time comes. Let's think ahead and devote all our energy to prepare for this instead of focusing on trivial price movements.
