New Subreddit to start Ethereum Projects

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 03:13 PM PST

On a post yesterday, u/doppl and I thought that having a subreddit where we could brainstorm new projects would be a cool idea, so we went ahead and started the r/EthGarden subreddit. The goal is to give the community a place to brainstorm new projects as well as find people who want to work on these projects.

So, if you want to join a brand new community and set the direction it will take, come on over and join us. It's brand new, so we're looking for moderators or just engaged community members. This could be the birthplace for the next cool Ethereum project, or the latest awesome Dapp.

ENS - Moving one step closer to mass adoption

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 04:03 PM PST

Internet.bs (part of CentralNic, a public Domain Services Company) started offering one-step purchase of ENS Names, now name buying is as easy as buying a DNS Name. https://medium.com/@enslisting.com/ens-name-buying-simplified-8a69888e0ba9 Hope this marks the first step towards mass adoption.

Revolut are NOT crypto friendly - don't be fooled!

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 08:27 AM PST

    Hi,

I founded a startup earlier this year selling and storing crypto-currencies and crypto hardware such as hardware wallets. We also provide consultancy to businesses on how to accept crypto payments.

This is the second startup I have founded and my first (not crypto-related) is in its 5th year of business.

All my paperwork, insurance and business filings are in order and legal. We have voluntarily registered for AML with HMRC.

While I was looking for a crypto-friendly bank I found Revolut. They seemed to be a good choice because people have been working with them and Coinbase.

When opening an account I decided to tell them exactly what we were doing, thinking they would be receptive. This is the response I got:

We are unable to open a Business account for you at this time. Having carefully considered your application, we regret that we are unable to offer you an account at the present time, and your application has been declined. Various factors have been taken into consideration in arriving at this decision and unfortunately, certain aspects of your application do not conform to Revolut's policies at this time and therefore it has been abandoned. Please accept our sincere apology that we are unable to provide any further information, and regrettably, there is no appeals pathway available in this instance. Thank you for your interest in Revolut for Business but we regret that on this occasion we are unable to assist. Kindest

I have worked freelance in the finance industry for over a decade and I know my personal information and my business are all correctly registered. The only thing different on this application is the fact I mentioned cryptocurrencies.

So, Revolut will not open a business account for a new business that deals with crytocurrencies. Please be aware of this when choosing who to do your banking with.

It is issues such as this that will severely hinder adoption and prevent bringing a new finance system to the wider population.

title says it all I know a little bit of bitcoin/blockchain technology. I am interested in learning not only the high levels, but also details on how to get started with the coding aspects as well (I have no experience of contributing to open source, but I had been a programmer in "earlier life" in C++ and java, and also know some python)

What is the maximum gas price of a single TX?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 06:14 AM PST

    Hi guys,

lately I tried to participate in an ICO but I was unsuccessful. MEW supports a gas price up to 99 gwei and this wasn't nearly enough in that particular ICO. What is the maximum theoretical gas price and what commonly accessible platform has the highest limit?

Etherions: Skirmish Battle Arena is in beta, check it out

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 11:47 AM PST

    Skirmish Battle Arena (beta)

    Here it is guys!!!

    • Get ready
It's been a while, but it's here. Meet the Battle system. Currently in BETA, but fun regardless. Feel free to try it out with your Dragons. Just select any of your Dragons and press Skirmish Battle. You'll enter the Arena and to war you go. :)

    • Battle
There are 5 options, 4 attack types and 1 healing. Make sure you try the Breathing Fire one, hail them Dragons! You can roam around freely using WASD. Use keys 1-5 for functions. You will take on endless waves of beasts (increasing in size and strength) coming at you. Try to defeat them quickly and avoid getting swarmed.
p.s. attacks have refill time, alternate them, and duuuh don't forget to recover your HP (heal).

    • Can I battle other Dragons too??
Sorry, not for now, as Beta focuses on fighting waves of beasts only. Once this is sorted and thoroughly tested, PVP will be added. Why don't you enjoy roasting those beasts for now, and get your Dragon ready for battles later. ;)

Lemme know how you like it.

Play at the Website, Discuss it on Reddit or come chat with us on Discord.

Can you edit the code of a token created on the ethereum platform after you issued it.

I think the answer is yes, just making sure. Like If I mess the coding. I can go back and cleaning the mess.
