Front running is becoming a massive issue in the crypto exchanges, we all should support new exchanges like Legolas for our own benefit

    Posted: 29 Jan 2018 10:30 AM PST

Reading Legolas white paper and it aims to stop frontrunning client orders by being transparent. Due to front running we end up paying higher than market price and the exchange pockets the difference in addition to their fee. This is totally unfair.

This shit literally can't get any better. 4chan trools created the most beautiful ponzi I've ever seen, and I cannot express how much you should invest in this coin.

Here's how it works: You buy the coin at market price. You sell the coin on their website at 10% below the marketprice; if someone sells, the difference is given to the people HODLing -- meaning when the coin goes down, you make profit. When the coin goes up.. Well you still make profit! No one loses! I've already made 4 cents from HODLing while people who sold missed out!

Bear Market Explanation Havent Seen Discussed

    Posted: 29 Jan 2018 04:48 PM PST

I believe the massive equity bull market currently going on explains a huge degree of the current price action in crypto markets and the blockchain space overall.

Feel like I haven't really seen this discussed on here, and everyone is focusing on FUD, manipulation, etc for the price drop off and now lack of volatility seen in Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market. While this explanation isn't overly compelling to those who have been in the crypto market for relatively long time, the only thing driving additional price gains from this point is new money coming in. We are hoping this new money will come in the way of institutional or more traditional investors.

However, while the majority of us believe that crypto investments will be very lucrative long term, it is important to not view the crypto market in an isolated bubble to the rest of the investment world. These new investors we are now waiting on are not primarily coming because of an overwhelming belief in the tech or mission of crypto, but for the prospect of gains. They are indifferent where these gains come from, and have an array of other markets where they can choose to invest instead. Investors look for the best risk/ reward ratio they can find, and while crypto markets offer stellar returns, they are also incredibly risky.

Global equity markets are in the midst of a pretty historic rally, and in the US the rally has kicked into another gear since the passage of tax reform on December 19th 2017. Emerging markets have also undergone incredible rallies in this same time period. I believe what we are currently seeing is very similar to FOMO, but with investors seeing traditional equity investments as the asset going straight up instead of cryptos. If assets seen as much lower risk are returning say 10% in less than a month (which the NASDAQ is very close to), the risk reward of these asset classes becomes considerably more attractive than the blockchain sector.

While there are obviously other major events that have taken place over the last month and a half, guess which day Bitcoin broke it's 12 day exponential moving average, triggering the first major sell off? December 19th (tax reform passed). If you believe as I do that what we are seeing is simply a reallocation of capital in a way we see routinely in traditional asset markets, this sell off represents an incredible buying opportunity. If crypto has taught us anything, its that nothing moves upwards in a straight line forever. Tax reform and the synchronized global growth stories are being priced into markets at a very aggressive pace, and once this easy money is made, investors hunting for aggressive gains will start to return to crypto assets, now no longer seen as way overheated.

TLDR: Equity markets have seen extreme gains in the exact same time period crypto assets have been struggling. Believe investors are reallocating to take advantage of the sudden rally triggered by US tax reform.

If your bank or credit card make it difficult for you to buy crypto, cancel your accounts with them and make sure they know why.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2018 09:27 PM PST

I'm reading lots of stories about people's banks denying them the ability to transfer money to exchanges and credit cards either outright blocking or charging higher interest rates for exchange purchases. Fuck them. No one tells you how to spend your money but you. Cancel your accounts with them and make sure they know why.

Are Atomic Swaps "doomed" due to scalability limitations? comparison to Sidechains- lets discuss!

    Posted: 29 Jan 2018 01:55 PM PST

COINDESK writes: " Fundamentally, there are 2 types of cain interoperability: 1) relaying messages about the state of one chain to another. this includes synthetic tokens aka sidechains 2) cross-chain atomic swaps. real tokens swap across chains without 3rd party trust.

One of the greatest limitations of atomic swaps is SETTLEMENT TIME. by definition, these transactions can only settle as fast as the BLOCK TIME of the SLOWER of the two chains. "

Now, folks please discuss the article's claims:
is there any feasible current tech that can use atomic swaps but at the same time ACCELERATE the block time? or are atomic swaps "doomed"?
