Bitcoin Cash has been rising faster than Bitcoin Posted: 28 Jan 2018 05:44 PM PST So this is something that I've kind of noticed over the past week, but it's beginning to look like Bitcoin Cash is really starting to break out of the FUD that the other community has been spreading. Since last Wednesday, Bitcoin Cash has been up around 10% while Bitcoin has only been up about 5% (daily averages - spread across a few exchanges). According to these guys it's looking like it will go up even more. I guess what I'm wondering is how high exactly can it go? It sounds like an actual flip might not be that far away. If the pace continues, it should flip around the middle of April. [link] [comments]

Bitcoin Cash Amsterdam meetup upgraded to a conference! Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:10 PM PST What started out as an idea to meet in a bar with about 10-20 people to socialize and talk about Bitcoin Cash, turned out a bit bigger than expected! Our first event will be held on February 27th at the beautiful TQ (https://tq.co) rooftop club in the heart of Amsterdam and will have space for 150 people. We will discuss Bitcoin Cash from a social, economic and technical (on-chain scaling!) perspective. Talks will be held by speakers of BTC.com, Lokad, Cyber Capital, The Bitcoin Cash Fund and other speakers which I can't announce yet. There will be webcasts with a Venezuelan student who will talk about how Bitcoin Cash helps his family to survive in a country that is facing many social and financial difficulties. There will be merchandise, there will be airdrops, there will be drinks.... but most importantly you will be amongst friends of the BCH community! You can register here to get a notification when the RSVP opens: https://www.meetup.com/Amsterdam-Bitcoin-Cash-Meetup/ [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Jan 2018 10:53 PM PST para. 8.1.2 Bitcoin Cash (BCC) It says: "approximately 80 to 90 percent of the Bitcoin computing power voted to incorporate Segregated Witness" That's not the truth. The 80 to 90 percent was voting for Segwit2X, a combination of segwit and 2X. Back then, only around 30% was voting for segwit. So, the segwit fork was born of injustice and will die in disgrace. Thank you for sticking with the fact that Bitcoin Cash is the original Bitcoin chain. It's tough to speak the truth in a dark world. The forums which are controlled by Bitcoin Core dev group, such as reddit.com/r/bitcoin have been spreading propaganda and blatant lies by censoring people in the past three years. Today, they were trying to push morons and liars to 'astroturf' in order to persuade you to fit their narattive. Hold strong. Bitcoin Cash is the true Bitcoin. I will devote resources to enable a future world where Bitcoin Cash is used globally for daily payments. para. 9.1 Blockchain control It says "there is still a group of core developers who are responsible for the system's development." While it's insightful and I appreciate this bravery to tell the risk, it's better to clarify that Bitcoin Cash introduced a mechanism of multi-groups of developers. Also, It should be clarified that such situation is only temporary. The unnecessary control by the dev group is due to the highly speculative market and low usage reality. It's not permanent. In the original design of Bitcoin/cryptocurrency, the dev group would be marginalized in future. Have a good night. [link] [comments]

Is this really true? Segwit is not needed for LN? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 09:30 PM PST I just finished watching the CEO of yours.com. He mentioned, that segwit is not needed for LN? I am just trying to learn. But can anyone confirm and expand on this? This is really interesting to me. If this is true, I feel I have been misinformed. That is the first time I heard that. If true, what were the actually benefits. I know about fitting more transactions, anything else? WTF is the malibility problem? [link] [comments]
Bitfinex customers, are you able to withdraw real USD from Bitfinex? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 10:35 PM PST There are a lot of questions out there about Tether USDT's solvency. However you can redeem USDT/USD 1:1 on Bitfinex. So if you trade your USDT for USD, shouldn't you be able to withdraw USD to your bank account by international wire? I hear that Bitfinex isn't open to US clients anymore so this may not apply to US customers. But if you have a USD bank account outside of the United States (or any bank account really minus currency conversion fees charged by your bank), are you not able to withdraw? Or is Bitfinex just basically giving you these USDT tokens in lieu of actual USD dollars as a hedge bet against crypto? Since I don't have an actual USD bank account and don't live in the United States, I actually used USDT for hedging at one point. If you want to lock in your gains but you don't want to withdraw to your bank account, USDT is a convenient way to do so and you can also move USDT around from exchange to exchange. But when I found out Bitfinex owned Tether, I traded all my Tether for BTC. lol. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jan 2018 06:41 AM PST Here was the question : https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7tbvye/daily_discussion_january_27_2018/dtcgc7y/?context=0 So noobs cannot receive BTC via LN unless they buy BTC and have it sent to a BTC address (paying a large tx fee), and then again pay another tx fee to establish a channel to a hub that the sender is also linked to. That means I can't send BTC to a noob like we normally do to get them into crypto, unless they buy a enough crypto to cover two transaction fees. God knows how much that fee will be in the future? $1000 just to join the BTC LN ecosystem? So to receive your very first BTC, you need to buy BTC. This is complete madness! How did so many people get this so wrong? Why is a smart man like Andreas promoting this? Edit: The reason given for the ban was: 'sockpuppet'. Edit 2 screenshot: [link] [comments]
