Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:14 AM PST Why is nicehash at the top of what to mine, what makes it so that, for example, nicehash - lyra2rev2 is 5th place on it (2 gtx 1070s) but the first actual lyra2rev2 coin (MONAcoin) is 12th place [link] [comments]
Electricity Cost Effect on Card Choice Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:09 AM PST I have university electricity for the foreseeable future. I have 3 1070s and a 970 working great for a few weeks now and recently bought a new MOBO with 2 more pcie slots. I already got a 1070 FTW for Christmas, but considering my lack of power costs should I go with a 1070ti to fill that last slot? They're comparably priced on NewEgg so I imagine there's some downfall, but if it's power-efficiency related it won't affect my bottom line. tldr: Are there any cards that become more competitive profitability-wise when power is cheap/free? after mining ethereum do i just close the program and im good to go? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:05 AM PST day 1 of mining and i want to make sure im not missing something major here i would assume i just close the program and all this mining is being saved to ethermine.org? nobody seems to cover how to close the program so i assume there isnt anything special to do. Breakout boards for server psu Posted: 26 Dec 2017 07:42 AM PST Hey, so i'm getting a 1200w hp server psu, do i need to use a break out board and can i have a link or something on how to use them, and will the server psu power everything normally or will i need something else to power the motherboard, i don't really now much about a server psu and assumed they where near the same as a regular one any suggestions for the server psu, cheap normal psu to run it do you think this will be enough (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seasonic-S12-II-330W-80-Bronze-Certified-Wired-Power-Supply/253326720883?hash=item3afb72ff73:g:S7wAAOSw~RVaPmQn) for the motherboard the g4400 and the ram 8gb (if i need) and breakout board EDIT: also the motherboard z270 can only hold a max of 7 cards EDIT 2: im looking at this breakout board https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DPS-1200FB-1600W-PSU-Power-Module-Breakout-Board-Adapter-For-GPU-Mining-Ethereum/352135537771?hash=item51fce9e46b:g:G68AAOSw2n5ZiXSi anyone know a alt or somewhere i can get it that wont take a month to be shipped from china [link] [comments]

Lyra2Z Zcoin Different hash-rate pool vs miner Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:48 AM PST OK I'm using GTX 1050-Ti and in my mining software (multipoolminer) it shows 655 KH/s Vs in pool (miningpoolhub) it shows like 250 or 350 at max so can any user confirm if I am getting correct hashrate for my gpu? or my mining software has problem Edit:-I used nemos miner and problem remains they are both using NVIDIA-TPruvotx64 ccminer x64 program to mine z coin both shows awesome profitability averaging 0.00014 BTC Per day! Am I doing something wrong or every Info is correct [link] [comments]
Quick advice before I purchase parts for first rig. Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:36 AM PST Hi, Taking advantage of crypto earnings and boxing day to start working on my first rig. I have a mobo available I am hoping to use. Here is what I came up with so far.
total ~600 after tax. case- still figuring out, going to say ~$100 to keep it simple. video cards. - 4x 570 . 2x 315 2x 300 - total 1230 - ~1400 after tax total ~2100 after tax, with money from rounding up ill get some extra risers. Looks okay? Other video card options/prices: 1070 - 560 cad. 1070ti - 630 cad. 1080 windforce - 670 Leaning strongly towards the 570 based on my noobie calculations. Questions: should I get 8gb ram? Are there better risers to choose? Worth it to pay extra for g3 instead of g1 series psu ? Am I missing anything obvious ? Thanks! [link] [comments]
How much power does a computer consume w/o gpu power consumption? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:52 AM PST I'm trying to get into gpu mining but before that i would like to know how much watts does a desktop that mines (presumably idle) consume w/o counting the power draw of the gpu? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:43 AM PST Hello, I've got a small rig room in the back of my building and am going to be upgrading a little bit. Right now my biggest issue seems to be airflow. I run everything at high power for maximum rate and will definitely be working to bring the temps down via clock rate, but with ambient temperatures in the warehouse around 40F, the cards are running a bit hot for my liking, around 60-65c. The room, as seen Here has no ceiling, and is in a warehouse with 20-25' high ceilings so all the heat can travel upward unimpeded. Here is a shot of whats inside. Messy and in need of re-arranging. I set this up pretty quickly and during expansion never took the opportunity to set it up for growth. Despite having a box fan on full blast on each rig on it's own open-air rack, the temps remain high. I believe I need to force air into the room from the warehouse and either A) Exhaust it out through another wall or B) push in so much air it exhausts out the top. HEREis my proposed plan. I will draw in air through in-wall fans and force it upward. I will re-orient the racks to have all the air moving in the same direction, and hopefully it will force everything out of the top. I'd greatly like you guys to take a look and let me know if you have any better ideas. I'll be expanding my room by 2-3 more rigs in the coming week and want to set it up for long term so I can stop moving/rearranging things. Thank you [link] [comments]
750w PSU enough for 1080 and 1060? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:30 AM PST I currently have 3 separate systems running and mining, I'm looking to move my 1060 6gb into the same case as my 1080 with a 750w PSU. i56600k that sits idle. Is 750w enough to power these two cards? I'd like to free up my other system. Thank you. [link] [comments]

Using GPU or Integrated MOBO for video out Posted: 25 Dec 2017 06:40 PM PST I am working on my first rig and have seen people seem inconsistent in whether to use one of the GPU or the MOBO itself for the video out. But I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I was wondering if you all could provide some help. [link] [comments]
Results with RX570 (speed, watts) Posted: 26 Dec 2017 04:05 AM PST I thought this could be of some interest to others. I have started building a rig, with an idea of adding more cards as finances allow. Right now the rig consists of:
Now to the wattage. Idle system is at 0.069 kwh at the wall. Mining (ethereum only, at 30,4 Mhs) the system averages at 0.145 kwh at the wall. So the consumption is 4,77 wh per megahash. What do you say, are these good results, or you see some areas where the improvement could be made? Thank you. I have aquired another Aorus RX470 card, will install it and update the results to this thread in several days. EDIT: fixed terminology. [link] [comments]

Profit Switching Mining Setups Posted: 25 Dec 2017 06:50 PM PST Has anyone used more than one profit switching mining set up? What was your experience? Which do you like best and why? Personally I have only mined on NiceHash and Mining Pool Hub. I switched to Awesome Miner + MPH after nicehack and definitely prefer it. Not only have my profits been slightly higher (in part due to being able to use custom mining software with AM), but the auto-exchange and ability to choose payout coin/threshold make it the obvious choice for me (especially since NH did not change its payout min upon return). I'm mostly curious to hear about pros and cons of Zpool, HashRefinery and any other multipools (especially as compared MPH). [link] [comments]
Quick noob question about 'interval' on Nemosminer Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:32 PM PST Hi there, I can't seem to find an answer searching so I'm asking here: On Nemosminer what is the 'interval' variable for; and maybe where could I read up more on this. Please be kind, I'm new to this. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Need some help Black Screen crashing rig Posted: 25 Dec 2017 07:40 PM PST I have tried many things from reinstalling block-chain drivers, to switching out risers, checking gpu's, reset oc and not oc at all, Basically i can mine anywhere from days to hours without a problem and then randomly i get a black screen that crashes my pc. The pc is on just the miner stops working and i cant get back into the pc without hard reset. Its like the display doesn't work, I'm thinking its a driver crash but i dont know what else to do. Im thinking its the mobo that is junk but other people have told me its fine. I have the following hardware * Mobo: MSI Z170A PC MATE LGA 1151 * cpu: Intel Intel Celeron G3900 Skylake * Mem: Team Elite Plus 4GB 288-Pin DDR4 * PSU: Corsair RM1000x * GPUS: XFX Radeon RX 580 8gb, Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 580 8GB, x2 Powercolor rx580 red devil 8gb Kill-a-watt reads 580w max from wall SGminer 5.5.5 version Windows 10 x64 version (Legal) I raised the virtual mem as well to 16gb [link] [comments] |
