Got liquidated 1.7 BTC guess I’m just dealing with the motions now. Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:00 PM PST Sorry for venting but I guess I've learned my lesson.. My friend got me into bitcoin trading on Bitmex and I bet one of my bitcoin (I only had two) up to trade with. The markets were doing great and I spent a whole month losing sleep scalping whatever I could. The last few weeks with CME coming out has literally screwed me. Though my liquidation price is was low I lost a significant amount with the dip to 11K. All good I was still in the game with a fair amount. After that it was a shit show. I kept entering just as the direction changed. I used huge margins thinking I could get it back boy was I wrong. Kind of angry at myself because translated into numbers I lost 20K (maybe more) which is a huge amount for me. I guess luckily I purchase my coin for 2500 so I'm telling myself that's all I really lost. Gambling is terrible and I guess that's what I did. Hodling my last coin and guess I'm just following the news with the rest at this point. Whatever Bitmex was a sweet escape from my breakup! I lost sleep had tons of heart attacks and anxiety but it was fun while it lasted 😇😇😇 [link] [comments] |
The Absolute Fucking Impossibility of Reporting Taxes On This Shit Posted: 25 Dec 2017 11:15 PM PST Found this thread on r/cryptocurrency and thought it was worth sharing here. [link] [comments] |
Shouldn't we have a sticky post about the risks of margin trading (account liquidations)? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 04:53 AM PST I mean a sticky megathread that includes the links to all the horror stories. Like the guy who lost 130 BTC (my God, 130 BTC!) because of a SINGLE bad trade. I think having it as a sticky would serve as a daily reminder to all traders who ever contemplate of doing high risk trades just to recoup their losses or during highly volatile times. I know that every time I am contemplating of making something stupid I remind myself of a guy who got liquidated for $150,000. [link] [comments] |
How do you guys determine your numbers for buys and sells? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 09:29 AM PST I always end my orders with 69 (e.g. $15,769), because it's statistically the best number for trading. Do you guys have any good/lucky numbers you put in your orders? Or do you just stick to percentage calculations? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:59 AM PST Hi all, I am pretty new to crypto, and even after reading about it for over a month. I am still having trouble understanding it. I have BTC, ETH, and LTC, and they are all currently on the Coinbase exchange. I plan on hodling long term, so I understand keeping my crypto on an exchange like this is absolutely not ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the safest possible measures are for me to safely store my crypto? And possibly with a step by step process? I am starting to invest a lot of money into it so I want to make sure I'm doing this the best possible way to hodl long term. Thank you all! [link] [comments] |

Do you think Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin in 5-10 years through its apps? Posted: 25 Dec 2017 04:54 PM PST Or will Bitcoin still keep its reign with lightning network and the other upcoming protocols, plus Microsoft's decentralized exchange project involving Bitcoin? [link] [comments] |

Tax time and Bittrex doesn't have my records... Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:42 AM PST So I realize I should have kept my own records, but I didn't realize bittrex deletes record after 60-90 days. I had a lot of it on my old phone but it broke completely. I'm not a big trader but I've bought and sold about 20 coins or so in September that I have no records of. Anyway to get around this? Any way to get my records from bittrex? Posted in the bittrex sub and got no response. [link] [comments] |
Stock Market Investors Should Look For Before Investing in an ICO Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:25 AM PST Investing in the stock market has been a pastime of many for quite some time. It is seen as a way to get positive returns which can prove very beneficial on the road to retirement. Many have chosen to invest in stocks as a way of getting rich, whether that be through day trading and studying the market or by buying and holding for huge dividends later on when the stock price rises tremendously in value. Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:13 AM PST It is currently an open beta, I am looking for testers and an honest feedback to improve it. You can add exchanges keys (READ ONLY), wallet addresses, manually add holdings (or watch-only entries), read news, view your portfolio (using different charts) and your profit/loss, check candlestick charts (from 1y to 30min) and much more coming soon...
Anyway, if you are interested in trying this app here's the play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bitsnapp.com.bitsnapp
Remember that it's a beta version, please report any bug you find so i can fix it, also, let me know if you like it or if you have suggestions, I am looking forward to receive your feedback! App subreddit: /r/Bitsnapp Discord: https://discord.gg/M7nZDKh [link] [comments] |
How do you keep enough miners when transaction fees eventually become lower for good? Posted: 26 Dec 2017 07:46 AM PST I know this has happened in the past with certain mining farms with their members moving elsewhere, but my question really stems from my lack of insight on where to start searching for the answers. How do you maintain interest amongst miners when the return is low or maybe even negative after all the utility costs? [link] [comments] |

Trading : is there a stable currency ? Posted: 25 Dec 2017 03:17 PM PST Hello, Sorry it's probably obvious to soem of you. But I can't find a "secure" way to have like a base. Let's say I invest in XRP. I'll buy some XRP with my BTC at T = 0. T = 1, XRP is geting high and I want sell back to BTC. T= 2, I want to buy STRAT with BTC, but BTC has fallen badly. I may have less money in T2 than in T1. How do you deal with that ? Basically all moneys needs BTC. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:18 AM PST Ex. https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/gemini/ I also want to know how I can find stats on the number of orders they process per day -- not auctions which they already publish. [link] [comments] |
Crypto price tracking app for Mac that actually displays the price correctly, in real time? Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:23 AM PST I need an app that displays real time prices of selected cryptos in the menu bar. I've probably tried 10 apps that supposedly do this, but they either don't allow to pick an exchange or don't allow multiple cryptos, or don't display the price correctly or display it with some serious delay. Generally it's a mix of several issues. So far I am using Coin Tick as it seems to be the only usable app for multiple coins, but 1) it's tied to Yahoo API (seriously??) 2) the price randomly jumps up & down so it's relative (within a few hundred dollars margin error for BTC). Sometimes it works correctly, sometimes it doesn't. Anyone knows of a better app? Preferably the one that allows setting a specific exchange for a specific coin. [link] [comments] |
