Posted: 18 Dec 2017 05:56 AM PST Hey guys! First post here but I was wondering what the best profitability was for mining on a RX 580. Or what coins exactly should I be mining using the profit switching miner. I read somewhere that sometimes it's best to just disable all the shit coins anyways and was wondering which I should disable [link] [comments]
Sapphire HD 5830 Xtreme - any profit left? Posted: 18 Dec 2017 05:33 AM PST Hey all, I've GPU mined on an off for a while, and was looking to get back into it, mostly for fun; not looking for a get rich quick scheme. I have 6 Sapphire HD 5830 Xtreme GPU's, and was wondering if there is anything left to mine that is remotely profitable with these cards? I fired up winminer, figuring it would be quick and easy, but each card is only mining approx $0.11/day - far from profitable given electricity costs (I'm assuming?) Any ideas or should I just post these up for sale somewhere? [link] [comments]
Does anyone mine NYC and high electricity rates Posted: 18 Dec 2017 07:29 AM PST I checked my electric bill and saw 7.7 kwh, put that info at whattomine and it calculated negative profits lol? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:39 AM PST The title says it all. I understand the concept of mining, but most guides are either highly outdated or hugely overloaded with jargon. I'm thinking I just want to set something up for my work at home days and mine something 'silly' like doge coin to show myself it works before invest in a mining rig. P.S. As a side note, I read smartphone mining isn't that bad - was this stupid - my understanding of how traditional mining goes makes me think mobile processor mining is going to be garbage. My first HP 1200w PSU died on me. It lasted a week. Any way to extend the life of these things? Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:09 AM PST I'll try to seek credit or replacement of it, but I really expected it to hack longer than a week. Its the basic 1200w one off Parallelminer or really anywhere. It was running off 208v with 7 cards on it. I'd need to find a way to do the calculation of what it was pulling, but at 208 I think I still had room. The thing is totally unresponsive so i'm saying he's ded jim. Any advice is appreciated, and if anyone has a lead on some of those nice 2400w PSU's that take the breakout boards i'm all ears. building rig with (recycled/old/spare) parts Posted: 18 Dec 2017 03:08 AM PST hi as per title, anyone has any experience with the above? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Dec 2017 02:08 AM PST My Sapphire R9 Dual-X 270x 2GB OC gets 195 S/s in optiminer and 230 H/s in Claymore at 1160 Core and 1430 Mem, I expected these numbers to be higher for an Asus Expedition Rx 570 4GB Optimer bat file:

Posted: 18 Dec 2017 01:50 AM PST What size ram doe you guys use with your 6 gpu rigs? I have been having crashes and cant seem to pin point it. Without awesome miner my ram is @ 52% and when mining it goes up to 89%. Is this normal with 4 gb ram? [link] [comments]
Altcoin Profit Switching Optimization Posted: 17 Dec 2017 11:36 PM PST I'm currently running a 6x 1070 rig and running a profit switching algorithm that swaps between pools/algos to the most optimal choice every 10 minutes. My question is, is 10 minutes the optimal time? Also, is there enough of a delay in loading up the miner that having to short a time will actually significantly impact profits? [link] [comments]
How is the 1060 3GB on Equihash, Lyra2RE2, Neoscrypt and Lyra2z compared to the 6GB? Posted: 17 Dec 2017 10:50 PM PST I have a rig of EVGA 1060 6GB SCs what are switching around with MultiPoolMiner. They mostly stay on Equihash, Lyra2RE2, Neoscrypt and Lyra2z becasue most of them have Hynix Memory :/ I want to add two more cards. And i'm interested in saving a bit of money.. https://i.imgur.com/aBTOrog.png (CAD) I read that the 3gb is about 10% slower on Equihash.. what about the other algos? [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Dec 2017 10:45 PM PST I'm currently running sniffdogminer with a single 1080ti and its current algorithm is Keccak. It states that I have a hashrate of 1.3 GH/s and that will pull in ~0.1 BTC a day. I am new to this but that doesn't seem right to me. Can anyone tell me if that is a problem? That seems like too much of a profit to be real. Should I switch miners? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
How much should I charge to build a rig? Posted: 17 Dec 2017 10:36 PM PST How much would you charge someone to build them a 6 gpu rig and configure everything for them under linux? [link] [comments]
How best to mount risers onto a frame? Posted: 17 Dec 2017 10:34 PM PST Hello everyone, TL;DR, I want to mount risers onto a metal frame by sticking a rubber/anti-static mat under them. Good idea? as the title says, I'm looking into solutions for mounting risers onto a frame for an open air setup. I think drilling them into wood looks too unprofessional, but I can't just drill them right onto a metal frame right? I was considering cutting up an anti static mat and placing it between the risers and the frame. Would that work? Does anyone have any better suggestions? Thanks for reading this far! Video on Why you should mine Verium Posted: 17 Dec 2017 08:19 PM PST Made a quick youtube video about how their is no better or easier cypto coin to mine than Verium right now. One of the few coins that can be mined from a cell phone, laptop, or pc. The statistics on Verium puts it where bitcoin was at in 2010 on how easy it is to mine. Check it out. [link] [comments] |
