Get yer tinfoil hats out boys and girls. Summin bout the timing of this BCH announcement feels way off.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2017 06:02 PM PST

We all know this will have been in the pipeline for at least a few weeks. Seems kinda well timed that Coinbase announces this two days after Bitcoin futures start up on the CFE.

Not to mention that the BCH price was on a fairly sudden incline a good few hours before the announcement.

I dunno, could easily all be a coincidence in this market. I don't know if I really believe it myself, but it feels incredibly well-timed lol.

Throwing $500 in these coins and forgetting about them for a year, what do you think?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2017 03:28 PM PST

Long story short, I've wanted to invest $500.00 in cryptocurrencies but don't have the time to watch over it (Basically a HODL and forget about it for a year).

    Here are my choices:

    REQ - 30%

    IOTA - 20%

    NEO - 15%

    XVG - 25%

Bit cash pump dump a load scam.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2017 07:28 PM PST

Just want to post a quick FYI from today that I've come to the conclusion.

Bit cash was an OBVIOUS pump and dump. Crypto isn't regulated, yet, and insider trading isn't a thing in the sphere, I'd guess. Every time a new coin is listed on either an exchange, or more importantly, the "iPhone" of crypto world (coinbase...) it will pump, instantly. Some will sustain if it's a good project, many will dump with overvalue.

Old saying goes in investing: "buy the rumor, sell the news." be careful out there boys and girls. It's a brave new world.

Noob in need of some alt-coin buying assistance

    Posted: 19 Dec 2017 09:35 PM PST

Hey, I'm sure you've seen this question on a million other crypto subreddits, or even on this one but I'm hoping someone still wouldn't mind humoring me.

So, I managed to scrounge up some cash I'm willing to part ways with and I'd like to invest in some alt-coins. I'm not sure what's the best way to go about doing that though.

I have a coinbase/gdax account, but they only accept purchases of like the "big 3" (or 4...now? Or something...).

I also have an account on Binance, but damn is that site confusing to me lol. The way I understand it, is that to purchase an alt-coin from Binance, I need to deposit another crypto into their exchange and then "trade" for my desired alt(s).

So I guess my question is, how should I go about doing this process such that I lose the least amount of money buying/trading/converting/moving.

Do I go Fiat -> Bitcoin -> Alts?

Why not Fiat -> Ethereum -> Alts?

Or Fiat -> Litecoin -> Alts?

P.S: Is there a better exchange than Binance (for alts) out there? Perhaps one that accepts fiat directly? I've looked at a couple of exchanges... but all of them seem to have some sort of horror stories attached to them and it makes me hesitant lmao.

    Thanks in advance.

5 cryptocurrencies to invest in 2018 - NEO and OMG

I'm day trading with fun-money. Will I likely be more successful trading stuff other than LTC/USD?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2017 07:54 PM PST

So I've been in crypto for a while but never actively traded it. I've started day trading with just a little money for fun. All I have done so far is trade LTC against USD on GDAX. It works... "okay". LTC has volatility but it comes in giant surges. I've noticed that alts seem to have more predictable channels.

Anyone who trades: should I be trading alt coins against BTC? I have a Binance account, I'm just new to the idea of trading in something thats not against the USD. Overall would it you say alts are more profitable in trading specifically?

What does stable price but volume increase mean?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2017 02:40 PM PST

    Hi /r/CryptoMarkets,

I come to you with a question. Recently I purchased a coin based on multiple TA charts and after doing research it seemed like a great investment, so I decided to buy. Coin went up about 10-15% since then (yesterday) and is holding strong despite the BTC dip today. I am comfortable.

And yet the BTC dip is effecting it. It has not gone below SAT level I bought at. But it went up and now is pretty much back to that level, largely due to this BTC dip. The coin has value and I know it would be higher without this. On the order book and depth chart a lot of people just are not selling, leading to little movement in price right now. So here's my question.

2 days ago the Volume of this coin was around 50 bitcoin. Yesterday it was around 90, and today it is up to 132, yet price did not go up a lot due to BTC dip. What does this indicate to you? Assuming BTC stabilizes, would this indicate a rise in value and price of the coin? Or is it meaningless?
