/r/Bitcoin loves to call Bitcoin Cash "ChinaCoin", but do they realize that over 70% of BTC hashrate comes from China?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 04:46 PM PST

    AntPool: 18.3%

    BTC.com: 18%

    BTC.TOP: 14.5%

    ViaBTC: 10.9%

    F2Pool: 7.8%

    58COIN: 2.8%

    BTCC Pool: 1.2%

    Total: 73.5%

    Source

Not to mention they've become blatantly racist towards Chinese miners. I wonder how they'd feel if all that hashrate left BTC to mine BCH instead.

BTC is treating BCH the same way financial institutions used to treat BTC

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 01:49 PM PST

BCH is treated like the belittled outsider who doesn't stand a chance just like how BTC used to be treated. For that reason I am sticking with BCH.

Be careful sending BCH from a Ledger Nano S

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 08:27 PM PST

I sent a transaction and the Ledger software's default fee suggestion was $3.10 worth of BCH. I unfortunately pressed send before I noticed, hopefully I can help other not make the same mistake! I assume the software was using the suggested sats/byte amount from the BTC network by mistake.

I feel like Bitcoin Cash is a black swan event slowly unfolding right in front of our eyes

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 05:51 PM PST

Bitcoin Cash overtaking Bitcoin Core in the future seems like a black swan event slowly unfolding before us this moment.

The black swan theory or theory of black swan events is a metaphor that describes an event that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often inappropriately rationalized after the fact with the benefit of hindsight. The term is based on an ancient saying which presumed black swans did not exist, but the saying was rewritten after black swans were discovered in the wild - Wikipedia

3 Criteria for a Black Swan Event:

    1. The event is a surprise (to the observer).
    2. The event has a major effect.
    3. After the first recorded instance of the event, it is rationalized by hindsight, as if it could have been expected; that is, the relevant data were available but unaccounted for in risk mitigation programs. The same is true for the personal perception by individuals.

Perhaps I am overthinking it but thought it was interesting.

We don't need larger blocks, since lightning will come someday™, the same way we don't need cars or planes since teleporters will come someday™

Dirt roads are fine too, why build highways when we can just wait for the teleporter? It'll come someday soon, we promise, here's a rough sketch of something that may work!

Hey /r/btc, Bittrex withdrawals fees for bitcoincash are ~3$, let's fix this together !

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 02:37 PM PST

/r/bitcoin has "HODL" we should adopt "PIFF" --> Pay It Forward Friend. Can't have a world that runs on crypto without everybody having some crypto. So Pay It Forward Friend! (don't tip me, next post on reddit you really enjoy you PIFF the person)

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 07:11 PM PST

I am so sick of his HODL meme, the only two things I think of when I hear HODL are

    1) Mistakes

    2) This

I know we can do better. So let's PIFF!!

It's MAGIC internet money with it's faithful friend doge, serious business yet playful and the glitter can be ethereum (Vitalik will supply the colorful tshirts). So I think a magical dragon is the perfect symbol do adopt for Pay It Forward Friend.

Oh look I downloaded 8.22 GB of data in around 15 mins on my Xbox One (over wifi) but we can’t even download more than 1 MB blocks on Bitcoin Core!

Reminder: Bitcoin Cash can handle 11x the 24h all-time-high tx amount of Bitcoin Core from the 14th of December 2017, today. Every single day.

    Posted: 25 Dec 2017 06:58 PM PST

I just had to answer to one of those guys again who argue that Bitcoin Cash "cannot handle half the world's populations transactions" on-chain. Okay. So I made some math quickly based on real numbers and you will like this :)

Lets collect some real facts first:

Bitcoin Cash can practically handle 11 times the transaction amount that was sent to the Bitcoin Core Network in 24h on the 14th of December 2017. It can do that today. Every single day of the year. Without a sweat or high fees.

Today Bitcoin Cash is already prepared to take over the entire market from Bitcoin Core, and still handle a grow in adoption by 11 times.

So if someone argues that Bitcoin Cash is not ready for mass adoption, just show them some real numbers next time.

Bitcoin Cash is so ready for 2018! Lets go!
