- Price Discussion Mega Thread (December 22)
- You guys where right the whole time. Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin.
- Made BCH paper wallets for xmas. What do you think of my design?
- I guess it's time to join you guys. Selling all of my BTC for BCH
- ⚠️⚠️ PSA- do not use the Bitcoin Core wallet. RBF will now be enabled by default. All txns sent from the wallet could be double spend attempts. With 14 day max mempool evictions (thanks for that too Blockstream) all Core wallet txns now 100% unreliable until at least 1 confirmation ⚠️⚠️
- Reminder: Blockstream and Core got 100% of everything they asked for.
- I'm not a fan of Bitcoin Cash for the record, but good god is the /r/bitcoin subreddit fucking garbage
- If bitcoin core was announced today in it's current form it would be the dictionary definition of a total shitcoin.
- Ukrainian bar now accepts Bitcoin Cash payment!
- Simple "Accepted Here" sign I made for Bitcoin Cash. Hope you like it!
- ShapeShift integrated in Bitcoin.com wallet
- Posting in r/btc is now grounds for banning in r/bitcoin
- Powerful: Cobra complains he won't be able to use BTC to pay for bitcoin.org SSL because of fees. BCH community comes to his rescue
- Tired of paying $100 Bitcoin transaction fees? Feel like you’re getting ripped off? Your money is now worthless? Send your complaints to blockstream.com customer inquiries and let them know!
- Bitcoin Cash price eyes $3000 target!
- Why We're Updating the Minimum BitPay Payment Amount to $100 | The BitPay Blog
- 'Bitcoin.com wallet adds Shapeshift integration, allowing now for easy conversion of BTC to BCH directly inside the wallet.'
- CoinEx, first bch based exchange has launched!
- So I finally did some reading up on BCH...
- Peter R. Rizun:"Replace-by-fee (RBF) will soon be on by default in Core (BTC). This will make it easier for users to bump fees on stuck transactions. Weakening double-spend resistance for 0-conf TXs also helps BTC migrate away from "p2p e-cash" towards "digital gold."

- #Bitcoin Core's roadmap. Turn Bitcoin into ebay with replace by fee (up for auction is block space) And THEEEN turn it into paypal 2.0 with lightning network (centralized payment channels) with side fees on top of tx fees. One big Clusterf**k of channel bidding with collateral requirement
- Remember: if you don't hold your coins in a wallet whose keys you exclusively control, you don't control your Bitcoins. Coins left on exchange can vanish. Move your coins to a wallet!
- Debunking: "Blockstream is 3 or 4 developers out of hundreds of developers at Core" - Tone Vays
- Erik Voorhees:"When it's cheaper (and sometimes faster!) to FedEx private keys to someone than to send a digital payment, Bitcoin is no longer a P2P electronic cash system."

You guys where right the whole time. Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin. Posted: 22 Dec 2017 06:24 PM PST 3 months ago I never thought I'd be on this side of the debate. I was a core follower, speaking hate about everything this sub stands for. I was lucky to realize how censored r/bitcoin was due to some bots that malfunctioned, realizing that something wasn't right. Slowly I learned the true, sad story of Bitcoin. I've just written out my paper for a video talking about the lies core tells about the necessity for running nodes, and how easy it truly is to scale bitcoin/cash. I've remained slightly skeptical until now. It's so obvious at this point, it's depressing how most people won't ever realize it. I just wanted to thank to this community for fighting what is right, and supporting me along the way. You people keep the spirit of of what Bitcoin was supposed to be alive! Fuck you BlockStream. Im literally dedicating all my spare time, to do whatever it takes to help bring you down. [link] [comments]

I guess it's time to join you guys. Selling all of my BTC for BCH Posted: 22 Dec 2017 04:25 PM PST I'm a software engineer by trade, and got into Bitcoin in the beginning when people were still trading on forum threads. Those were the good old days. I've been really frustrated with the Bitcoin community lately. I never got involved out of some interest in hoarding BTC and just sitting on it. I fell in love with the idea of a transactable currency that takes the bank out of the equation. This is no longer the case. I commented on a thread on /r/btc earlier in which I said that a big tell for me was the fact that while on /r/btc, Satoshi and the whitepaper are mentioned both in the header graphic and in the sidebar, while neither of which are mentioned on /r/bitcoin. I really think it speaks a lot to the community of both currencies and communities. I really enjoy the fact that the Bitcoin Cash community is focused around the same ideals that made me fall in love with the idea and the technology. I want this space to be at a crossroads of economics and philosophy again. My first Trezor came in today and I was blown away when I moved my BCH onto it. It didn't cost me anything. It was done instantly. Say what you will about Bitcoin being the "original" Bitcoin or the fact that it has the most recognizable name in the space. BCH is what was outlined in the whitepaper, and BTC at the end of the day, is a broken and failing experiment. I'm ready to get out of the memepool and join you guys on the light side. Cheers to this community and to BCH. I'm dumping all of my BTC for BCH <3 [link] [comments]

Watch what happens next as Bitcoin Core loses it's top crypto currency spot, and remember that we did everything we could to warn them about it but they responded with censorship in return. All of the current problems are 100% their own fault. Don't let them shift the blame to anyone but themselves. [link] [comments]

When did the whole Bitcoin commulity become so greedy and obsessed with who can horde the most coins and pat itself on the back about never using the things.
No it isn't, nor is the "value store" of the internet. When you lose 15% is just over a day you're not a value store and when it costs $50+ to make a $1 transaction you're not a fucking currency either. Has everyone forgotten about how exciting it was to buy pizzas with our shitty little internet points that no one in the real world cared about? Bitcoin core is dead. It's LinkedIn-tier investor trash. [link] [comments]

Ukrainian bar now accepts Bitcoin Cash payment! Posted: 22 Dec 2017 07:51 PM PST Hi everybody! If you ever visit Dnipro (Ukraine) and would like to get some craft beer - you might wanna check Bottle Bar (https://www.facebook.com/BarBottleBar/). They have an awesome menu and a huge selection! I talked to one of the stakeholders and now they accept Bitcoin Cash payments! I am so glad that the community is growing and merchants are willing to co-operate and spread the word around! Spread the love <3 [link] [comments]

Posting in r/btc is now grounds for banning in r/bitcoin Posted: 22 Dec 2017 07:38 PM PST I'm just dumbfounded at the desperation in r/bitcoin to keep out dissent these days. With prices dropping across the board, they're freaking out and trying to make sure no one can disagree with them. My participation in both subs has led to my complete banning from r/bitcoin. Admittedly it didn't help that I called out the mods on their bullshit. [link] [comments]

So I finally did some reading up on BCH... Posted: 22 Dec 2017 05:04 PM PST I've invested in couple of cryptos, BTC, LSK, ETH and I kept hearing about BCH. A lot of what I was hearing was how it's a scam coin blah blah from /r/bitcoin, so when I first started researching it I already had a negative idea of what it's about. But I have to say, after reading about BCH it seems like a better technology. I don't understand why it gets so much hate on other subs? In its current state BTC is pretty much unusable for anything except HODLing. BCH on the other hand can actually be used like an actual currency without paying a small fortune in fees. I'm proud to say that with the price dip today I took the opportunity to buy my first BCH, and I'm looking forward to getting more in the coming months! To the moon! [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Dec 2017 07:55 PM PST Folks, tether is going to melt down. And when it does, it's going to take out exchanges. Plural. Not mtgox. Mtgoxes. Don't leave your coins on exchange. Trade if you must then move your coins to a wallet you control at the end of the day. Note: this isn't really possible if your coin's blockchain is congested to the point of failure. Debunking: "Blockstream is 3 or 4 developers out of hundreds of developers at Core" - Tone Vays Posted: 22 Dec 2017 09:00 AM PST He says this at 25:50 in this interview whilst making the argument that Bitcoin Core development is decentralised. Let's check a few things. First port of call is Github. https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/graphs/contributors There are 32 contributors with over 30 commits. Out of these 32, 8 have made no contributions at all in 2017 so lets drop that number to 24. There are 10 contributors with over 200 commits.
So just scratching the surface, this is far from hundreds of developers, and far from a decentralised team. 7 of the top 10 developers of Bitcoin Core work for Blockstream and Chaincode. Now let's take a quick look at Chaincode. It was self-funded by its founders Alex Morcos and Suhas Daftuar who also started Hudson River Trading in 2002. Here's where it gets interesting. Alex Morcos also participated in funding MIT's Media Labs Digital Currency initiative, which is who funds Wladimir J. van der Laan and Corey Fields. Matt Corallo (Blockstream) is a team member of Chaincode. While everybody is focused on Blockstream, we have Alex Morcos funding 6 of the top 10 developers for sure. Only Jonas Schnelli is uncertain how he is funded. Call me a tin foil hat wearing crazy man, but this does not look like a decentralised development team to me at all. Edit: Thanks for all the tips and reddit gold. Honestly, I prefer tips to gold. I now have a year and a half of Reddit gold, and the tips I pay forward to other people, so more useful. But either way, it's appreciated :) [link] [comments]
