Bitcoin Cash - Green Logo (instead of orange)

    Posted: 16 Dec 2017 11:54 AM PST

I'd like to see the Bitcoin Cash leadership officially endorse the switching of all Bitcoin Cash logos worldwide to GREEN instead of ORANGE, to further distinguish this cryptocurrency from Bitcoin Core's cryptocurrency. Let them have orange, we have green.

Plus, it will help consumers better distinguish between the 2 cryptocurrencies in the marketplace.

And, green is a MUCH BETTER color to represent cash instead of orange.

Also, green is a MUCH FRIENDLIER color as well... it represents most of the good things in society: nature, "go" at a stoplight, cash, etc.

Let's make the official switch to green, so we can be done with this orange color for good.

    Can BCH last?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2017 08:26 AM PST

Hello all. Been in the crypto space since 2014. Got discouraged about the state of bitcoin and sold it a while back because it was no longer the technology I originally supported and it seemed beyond saving. Recently heard of bitcoin cash and I want back in. I have a concern though about bitcoin cash I was hoping someone could answer:

The future looks great for BCH right now but so did things in 2014 when I invested in BTC. Who's to say that BCH won't be corrupted in the future the same way BTC was or in a different way? What are people basing their confidence on this time? Sure, it's a great thing to support in theory, but can it last? Will it last? Or will it succumb to corruption like BTC. Thoughts?

    The meaning of “Satoshi Nakamoto”

    Posted: 16 Dec 2017 01:02 PM PST

Not sure how many people are aware of this but an article on zero hedge a few months ago stated that Satoshi Nakamoto could be translated as "Central Intelligence" and pretty much suggested that the NSA or the CIA designed the technology of cryptocurrency.

Not sure if I agree but does this concern anyone? Does anyone else think it's weird and suspicious that the name is Satoshi Nakamoto? I will admit that I don't understand why they would call themselves Satoshi Nakamoto as that would give them away, but maybe they don't care because they know the general public either won't know or won't care or maybe it's one of those hiding in plain sight things, I don't know. I think it's suspicious that no one has been confirmed to be the creator of the original white paper (to my knowledge). Sure maybe if it's an individual, they don't want to be known for safety concerns or other reasons, but at this point it seems much more likely to be a group of people collectively called Satoshi Nakamoto. Cryptocurrencies have proven to be far too successful to be designed by one lone person IMO. It seems much more likely that a group (like the NSA) who have vast resources and vast numbers of highly intelligent minds would collectively be the creators of cryptocurrency technology.

I'm sure people will point to all the benefits and potential of cryptocurrencies and so on, but I'm looking at the end game. Knowing what we know now about the CIA and NSA, how they spy on everyone, how they do all sorts of corrupt and evil things, etc. - if they did design it, how can we trust that a cryptocurrency like bitcoin will actually benefit humanity long term and that they didn't design it to become a one world currency to enslave humanity? Who is to say that this isn't all a trap? At this point I don't see how it is a trap for several obvious reasons but still, doesn't it make you wonder? If the NSA did create it, why would they have created it if it undermined their power?

    Thoughts?

Bitcoin ABC Wallet will not update.

    Posted: 16 Dec 2017 07:02 AM PST

I'm a little late in doing this, but I finally sat down to claim my BCC.

I tried a few methods, none of which worked, so I just went back to square one and downloaded a Bitcoin ABC wallet and let it update from scratch on a new wallet.

I am blessed w/ a decent internet connection, so it only took a day for the block chain to download, but it stalled at 99.96%. I let it run overnight, but that didn't seem to help at all.

This morning I decided to replace the ABC wallet dat w/ my BTC core wallet dat to see if my BCC was even there and it is.

I was able to abandon the transaction where I moved my BTC to a new wallet before I attempted this, and I've been checking my peers to ensure that any satoshi peers are banned. Still it will not move beyond block 504081.

    Any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me what will happen to BCH if BTC Core team increase their block size to 8MB?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2017 12:04 PM PST

Let say BTC Core team explained that they started to implement increasing block size, at that day what will happen to BCH? Because there will be no difference between BCH and BTC (will be?). In such a situation, what will be the reason for people to buy BCH?

A nimbler Bitcoin Cash Difficulty adjustment algorithm

    Posted: 16 Dec 2017 07:37 AM PST

Watching how the DARI graph is shaping up after Dec 7, I wanted to ask the community if there's something we can do to make this chain more resilient to the far heavier BTC chain's hashpower requirements.

We should be looking for a way to lower both chain's difficulty adjusted rewards (DARI) volatility & prevent fee inflation on the BCH chain. It looks like BCH as a 'lighter' chain is leading to more volatile blocktimes (blocks/hr). Can the difficulty algorithm be optimised for greater hash power shift sensitivity?
