Finished The Code Book - what next? Posted: 19 Nov 2017 08:12 PM PST I just finished Simon Singh's The Code Book and loved it, but it was written in 1999. What has been going on in the world of crypto since then? Any good follow-up books or articles that make the last 18 years of crypto as accessible and entertaining as Singh made the first couple thousand? [link] [comments] |

I just got cryptolocked by a probably ransomware Posted: 19 Nov 2017 02:05 AM PST So the title is self explanatory, I don't know how did it happen but it seems like all of my files are encrypted. I have backups of only half of them, is it possible for someone to decrypt other files just by comparing the encrypted files with backups? I can provide data examples if you need. I read the rules and I will also post this on r/codes too. [link] [comments] |
