Bitcoin ABC - Medium Term Development Plan

    Posted: 27 Nov 2017 07:58 PM PST

    From: https://www.bitcoinabc.org/bitcoin-abc-medium-term-development

The purpose of this statement is to communicate the Bitcoin ABC project's plans for the medium-term future (next 6-12 months).

Bitcoin ABC developers have been collaborating and communicating with developers and representatives from several projects, including Bitcoin Unlimited, Bitprim, nChain, Bitcrust, ElectrumX, Parity, and Bitcoin XT. Although these are independent projects, each with their own development processes and priorities, we share a common vision for advancing Bitcoin Cash. While we can only speak for ourselves, plans for Bitcoin ABC align with this shared vision.

Our top priority for Bitcoin Cash is to keep improving it as a great form of money. We want to make it more reliable, more scalable, with low fees and ready for rapid growth. It should "just work", without complications or hassles. It should be ready for global adoption by mainstream users, and provide a solid foundation that businesses can rely on.

A secondary goal is to enable enhanced features, when it is safe to do so. We can facilitate use-cases such as timestamping, representative tokens, and more complex transaction scripting, when these features do not detract from the primary money function.

The next steps we plan to take are:

    1. We will schedule a protocol upgrade when Median Time Past reaches timestamp 1526400000 (May 15, 2018), and a subsequent upgrade for 6-months later when Median Time Past reaches 1542300000 (November 15, 2018).
    2. We will finalize the code and features to be included in the upgrade by three months prior to the upgrade (Feb 15, 2018).
    3. Some of the features tentatively planned for the next upgrade are:
      • Increase default block-size limit, and move towards adaptive block size limit
      • Move toward canonical transaction order, perhaps removing transaction ordering consensus rule as a first step.
      • Improved Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm
      • Re-activate some deactivated Opcodes, and move toward adding protocol extension points to facilitate future Opcode upgrades Note that the specifics which features will be included is dependent on further discussion, implementation, and testing.

For anyone interested in seeing these features (or others) in Bitcoin Cash, now is the time to step up and work on them. The protocol upgrades will need solid implementation, with lots of time for review and testing. We do not want to be in a position where people push for last-minute changes to be included in the protocol upgrade. We need to be proactive.

Working together, we will make Bitcoin Cash the best money the world has ever seen.

The trolls want to say we're sockpuppets. Let's show them otherwise. Roger, Jihan, and a small handful of public people are fighting for us every day, on camera. Its time more of us step up and show our face.

I'll start.. I hope more of you will join in.

Bitcoin Cash supporters are quick to distance themselves from the crippled BTC chain and explain the differences to anyone who asks. The troll narrative that we're trying to trick people into believing they're the same is ridiculous.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2017 03:10 PM PST

The current paid social media campaign against Bitcoin Cash is that BCH is attempting to fool unsuspecting noobs by 'spoofing' the bitcoin name and not clarifying the existence of 2 separate chains. Anyone who is watching this space knows this is not even remotely close to reality. Bitcoin Cash supporters are on a mission to explain why the two chains are different and why Bitcoin Cash is superior. We have made clear distinctions with the naming conventions for the other chain (Bitcoin Core, Legacy Bitcoin, Bitcoin Segwit, etc) to clearly articulate the differences.

When we say "Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin" we are referring to the fact that Bitcoin Cash is, by definition, Bitcoin as outlined in the white paper. Bitcoin Segwit can no longer be called Bitcoin by this same definition due to the inclusion of Segwit which drastically alters many of the fundamental principles and mechanics upon which it was built. We are saying "Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin as defined in the white paper." We are not saying "BCH is BTC" which is how the minions are framing it.

Tldr: bCore trolls implying that the phrase "Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin" is trying to say "BCH is BTC." This is false. The translation of "Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin" is "Bitcoin Cash follows the original design and scaling methods as laid out by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin white paper and is therefore, by definition, Bitcoin." The same cannot be said about post-Segwit BTC.

"BCH is adding what was removed from Bitcoin and returning it to be all Bitcoin was designed to be. This is the simple path. SegWit, Sidechains, a broken and not working Lightning system, that is what is complex and waste. Welcome to the future, BCH"

Bitcoin cash "name confusion" is a lie

    Posted: 27 Nov 2017 01:05 PM PST

There isn't a real life example of a new investor buying bitcoin cash thinking it was bitcoin. Not a single one. Everyone knows they are two different coins. Even beginners.

Reminder: Bitcoin Core should always be referred to as Bitcoin Core or BCore to avoid confusion among new bitcoin users. Bitcoin has already split into two different chains on 08/01/2017

    Trolls/BCH haters

    Posted: 28 Nov 2017 12:42 AM PST

There's just something about these Bitcoin core fanboys or paid shills that spam and Bitcoin cash forums or Roger Ver video with hate that makes me more confident that I'm on the right side.

I don't know, is it just me, or does the consistent comments like "Roger Ver is a scam artist" or "shitcoin" or "Bcash" etc. etc. just seem inauthentic and fake?

I just have a sense theres no authenticity to those accounts that say that.

Look at the pure idiocy in their arguments "if bcash is to be called bitcoin cash, litecoin should also be called bitcoin cash" what the fuck? how does that even make sense, Bitcoin Cash was the chosen name, as is Bitcoin Gold, the fact they seem to be targeting Bitcoin Cash so obviously tells me that they are threatened and scared.

-edit they have actually attempted a counter vote campaign.

Thats $300 usd of hard drive to support the block chain for 19 years. Apparently that's too expensive for bitcoin core supporters.
