List of the max. number of gpus per motherboard Posted: 09 Feb 2022 03:07 AM PST A few weeks back I was trying to understand what would be the theoretical max number of gpus on a rig. This number is constrained by the cpu, mb chipset and the mb itself. Usually the last 2 more often than not During my search I found this website with an extensive list of motherboards and what is the max number of gpu people have managed to sneak in with splitters https://www.julianocaju.com.br/info/limite-gpus.asp The website is in EDIT: This website is not mine. I'll link his youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/JulianoCaju) and discord (https://discord.com/invite/julianocaju) [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Feb 2022 07:43 AM PST I'm searching around Newegg for my new rig & can't find any recommended mining boards in stock that are newer or not used. Does anyone have any good recommendation for a board that will support 8 GPUs? [link] [comments]

Do I need to form LLC, in order to deduct expenses (e.g electricity usage)? Posted: 09 Feb 2022 01:36 AM PST I see that in some places it is mentioned that you can't deduct your mining expenses if you have not formed LLC (ie you are a hobby miner) while some say that you don't need to form LLC in order to deduct mining expenses. For example in the link below , multiple users mentioned you can deduct expenses without having to form LLC https://www.reddit.com/r/gpumining/comments/pjf26l/does_anyone_operate_as_a_usbased_llc_or_scorp/ So which one is correct? I would like to deduct my electricity usage expenses without having to from LLC if possible. Liability is not a problem since I'm mining at my garage. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Anyone using gate.io wallet for ton for eth + ton dual mining? Posted: 08 Feb 2022 07:49 AM PST I like using the CB exchange wallet for my eth payouts so was hoping to do the same thing for ton if I start dual mining eth + ton. I saw that gate.io just started allowing people in the US to sign up and it looks like they have a receive option on the ton coin page with a wallet address. I am wondering if that would work the same way my CB exchange wallet works for my Eth mining. It looks like this would be a lot cheaper when I want to cash out than mining to the official ton wallet then trying to move it to an exchange. Am I missing something here? Thanks! Anyone notice a gradual reduction in stable overclock ability? Posted: 08 Feb 2022 03:44 PM PST I have a 3070 FHR and a 3060 v1. The 3070 memory used to be stable at +1400, and the 3060 could maintain +1000. Lately, the 3070 gets unstable over +1300, and i haven't been able to get the 3060 over +700 without almost instant crashing. Any idea what it is? Maybe I need more wattage? Thermal paste wearing out? Cards are just getting worn out? [link] [comments]
Strange overheating/crashing issue 3080/3070 Posted: 08 Feb 2022 02:56 PM PST Just wondering where this could of come from? Absolutely no issues mining with the 3080 in my primary pci slot. Recently added a 3070 and have that on a riser sat outside the case. At random moments the 3080 starts to rapidly overheat 102 mem 80c core. ( usually 88mem 50 core) Check msi afterburner and all underclocks are still set. I have to stop mining then cool down and restart then everything is fine until it randomly happens again. Only started happening since adding the 3070. My psu is a 850w corsair modular [link] [comments]
If I’m on a limited budget, should I build my rig from 3060s or are the 3080s that much better? Posted: 08 Feb 2022 02:01 PM PST After following and investing in crypto for the past 8 years, I've decided to stop waiting for the "perfect time" and just take the jump into mining. I'm gonna start with one card, possibly 2, and build as time goes by. My electric rate is 0.15 cents per kWh. [link] [comments] |
