    ETH and TON dual mining

    Posted: 06 Feb 2022 01:56 AM PST

    Just a heads up to people to do the maths, as the dual mining only worked out about 20p a day more profitable for me on my small 3 gpu rig....

    I'm only running a small rig of 1 x 2060, 1 x 1660 super and 1 x 1660 ti

    Mining eth the whole rig (including mobo etc) pulls 275w at the wall for 96.7mhs

    When I tried dual mining eth and ton, my ETH hash rate dropped to around 91mhs and my TON was at around 2.25ghs. However, my power usage increased to 385w - so an additional 110w at the wall.

    My power rate is £0.21 per kwh (very high in the UK), and so when I calculated the difference in profit, it was only about £0.19 a day more profitable for the dual mining - but with the added complication of having another coin to manage, added stress on my gpu (TON uses core) and the additional heat generated by mining TON.

    All I would say is, do the calculations before you set it up.

    If I'm completely wrong in my calculations then I stand to be corrected.

    What are your thoughts on amd 6600?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2022 03:17 PM PST

    Hi,

    I'm quite new to gpumining (I know I'm late lol). I don't want to invest a ton of money in gpus so I find attractive the 6600 because of the price tag. Not the most efficient but efficient in electricity and it is "cheap".

    What are your thoughts about that? I want a mining rig 4-6gpus max.

    Thanks a lot in advance for your comments

    Settings for lolminer configuration to NiceHash pools using HiveOS flight sheets

    In the last months, I have been using nbminer and t-rex miner to mine ETH to the NiceHash pools/my account, using the HiveOS interface. And it is working fine. Now I am trying to use another miner, lolminer.

    I am trying to figure out how to switch to lolminer when I mine to my NiceHash pool/account. I do my mining using the HiveOs interface, but the miner configuration for lolminer to NiceHash is not working for me. Anyone using lolminer to mine to NiceHash using the HiveOS interface?

    Below is what I have set, that doesn't work. Here is what I have configured for the flight sheet in general:

    Flight sheet summary

    Here is the lolMiner Config screen:

    Miner Configuration

    Here is the output log of the failure:

    Log

    Can anyone give me any hints on how to configuration lolMiner to properly mine ETH to my NiceHash pool/account?

    RTX 3060, 3070, 3060 Ti - ETH/Alph Dual Mining Hashrates

    RTX 3060, 3070, 3060 Ti - ETH/Alph Dual Mining Hashrates

    Some more data for users, who are using the latest version of Trex Miner to dual mine Ethereum and Alephium. Below, you will find the latest info and links for those who may need help getting started.

    Video on the Basic setup of Trex Miner Dual Mining:https://youtu.be/GgpNjjBN45A

    Don't forget like with all dual mining, you got to add "extra config arguments" copy and paste it, then update. It is also in the video description linked above.

    "worker": "%WORKER_NAME%"
    "coin":"%COIN%"

    "lhr-algo": "blake3"
    "url2": "http://us2.alephium.herominers.com:1199"
    "user2": "WALLET.WorkerName1"
    "pass2": "password"

    So you can keep your normal Ethereum Clocks in HiveOS, but add a little bit of core to help out Alephium mining. Alph is core intensive while ETH is memory intensive, so you got to find a balance for your hardware.

    I set one of the 3060 Ti and 3070s to +150, and the other at a fixed core clock of 1650. Comparing the difference, while impacted by silicon lottery, it seems locking the core clock is better than just adding to it with a + ###.

    Normal ETH clocks, no Core added

    Average Hashrates:

    RTX 3060 32.63 MH - ETH270.0 MH - ALPH

    RTX 3070 41.05 MH - ETH340.9 MH - ALPH

    RTX 3060 Ti 30.72 MH - ETH215.35 MH - ALPH

    RTX 3070 40.26 MH - ETH336.4 MH - ALPH

    RTX 3060 Ti 36.88 MH - ETH300.2 MH - ALPH

    Two of the same models at Fixed core, and two with Plus ###

    Trex - ETH & Alph Dual Mining - RTX 3080 LHR

    LHR Dual Mining Hashrates

    Clocks, and Thermals

    Average Alephium Hashrate - 700 Mhs

    Average ETH Hashrate - 67 Mhs

    Power draw around 270 Watts, but I did that on purpose since Alephium is more core intensive.

    RTX 3080 12GB: 59 MH/s ETH + 845 MH/s ALPH

    Posted: 05 Feb 2022 03:24 PM PST

    T-rex 0.25.2 introduced ETH+ALPH dual mining LHR unlock. However, no mining software seems to have an LHR unlock function that works for 3080 12GB cards. You can't run T-rex in dual mining mode because it tries to use its unlock function, and you can't disable the unlock function because it also disables dual mining.

    My 3080 12GB gets about 63 MH/s in "pure" (i.e. no unlock function) LHR mode and I'm always trying new things to get a little better profitability. I've found that if I run two different instances of T-rex I can get about 59 MH/s on ETH and 845 MH/s on ALPH. The "trick" is to run the ETH instance with --lhr-mode 0 (or I guess use an older version that doesn't recognize the 3080 12GB as LHR), and put your overclock and fan settings on only one of the two instances (or use Afterburner or what have you). Then let it run for a bit and level out to see the actual power consumption and hash rates.

    Thought I'd share for anyone else struggling with this nasty bit of silicon. Happy mining!

    What's the easiest way to get the USD price at the time of a mining payout?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2022 07:22 PM PST

    I have a bunch of mining payouts from last year and for taxes, I need to look up the USD value of each payout at the moment in time that it occurred. How the hell do I do that?

    Success with Risers on ASRock x570 Phantom Gaming 4?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2022 04:07 PM PST

    Anyone get this board working with 2+ risers? Best I could get was an unreliable pairing of the 1st and 4th PCIE slots running a 3090 and 3080 in Windows 10. All the other slots would not recognize a riser regardless of every combination of 4G setting, Gen 1,2,3,4 toggling, disabling HD audio and USB-C on older and also latest bios (which I just flashed) that I tried.

    I tested all the risers and they do work but again only in that 1st and 4th PCIE slot arrangement (and again just sometimes, not reliably so). When it doesn't work the computer either doesn't make it past bios (with card lights turning on/off over and over) or simply not being recognized in windows.

    Power supply and wall draw situation is plenty sufficient. 2x 1200 EVGA P2 platinums daisy chained with adapter to power on together, one supply isolated to the motherboard and the other for the cards and risers (6 pin).

    I tried alternating the M2 NVME drive to the other M2 slot and didn't make any difference.

    Cards both work fine together at once and stable (mining for days currently no problem whatsoever) when directly plugged into the two main PCIE slots so not an nvidia driver issue.

    I realized I needed new AMD chipset drivers (3700x) to resolve an unrecognized PCIE encoding/decoding device so took care of that. Maybe it will help but haven't been able to subject myself to another round of setup testing yet.

    Anyone find the magic combination of bios settings for this board? Could the chipset drivers be the culprit? It's been pretty infuriating trying to figure this one out. Haven't been able to wrap my brain around how the PCIE lanes work on this setup so if that's relevant might help. Help much appreciated.

    T-rex via AwesomeMiner: Any way to create an appending log?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2022 05:10 AM PST

    Using profit switcher in AM, with T-rex:
    Any way to create an appending log for the miner?
    I know of the options to:
    1. See the last activation in the "console_output.text" file, but it's not appending.
    2. Create a log within the BAT file itself, but it's only working when being ran out of AM + It's just echoing the text. I cannot see/follow the bat file as it's running (as normally done).
    3. The option to insert additional command lines in the "Edit Profit Profile" screen - tried that, both w/ and w/o admin elevation, to no avail :-(

    The syntax that I found and used in both methods 2 and 3 (and I wish worked while being ran from within AM too) is:

    set LOGFILE=batch.log

    call :LOG >> %LOGFILE%

    exit /B

    :LOG

    t-rex.exe -a ethash -o stratum+tcp://eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -u <MyWalletAddress> -p x -w rig0

    Thanks!
