Liquidity is the key to success for BCH

    Posted: 10 Feb 2022 01:05 AM PST

    Hello,

There is a constant need for the merchants to convert bch back to their native currencies. Then there are also traders who want to sell their bch to buy something else with the fiat.

Therefore, to build a successful currency the liquidity of it is essential. This means, there is a buyer at all levels from the close to spot to 0 (just in case of a flash crash - to 0 is unlikely but possible at least theoretically).

When the price moves up, then just add bids together with bch (say, spot -5 %).

I think this is something both the ones that consider bch as a store of value and those who want merchant adoption agree. The need for liquidity is the common ground for both camps.

We need to install trusted back up moderators

    Posted: 09 Feb 2022 06:38 PM PST

r/btc is under attack. They will continue to mass report mods in an attempt to get them banned, then take over the subreddit due to lack of moderation. We should install some trusted long time members of this community as back up mods. They don't need to be active, but be available should all active mods become banned.

Hey guys, /u/ShadowOfHarbringer here writing from a throwaway account that will be banned soon. I believe this is the end of the line for me.

    Posted: 09 Feb 2022 09:31 AM PST

Officially, the reason for my ban is "harassment". Here is the harassment reason - the conversation that got me banned:

    https://i.imgur.com/DO9uP8T.png

I am not saying I did play this perfectly, but the Shibes guy (who BTW harassed not only me but this whole subreddit for a year or so) caught me off-guard on a bad day and I got too angry, apparently.

So yeah, this is end of the line for me. I had a worse day, made a (I thought first insignificant) mistake and here we are, it's over.

I believe the enemy will never let reddit.com unban me now, after they scored such a large success.

I hope somebody creates an alternative to reddit and moves users there quick, Reddit.com is rigged and we are living on borrowed time here in /r/btc, basically.

Goodbye guys, it was fun fighting for a just cause of P2P Cash for the world.

    Let's fight for ShadowOfHarbringer

    Posted: 09 Feb 2022 08:56 AM PST

As we know this subreddit is under constant organized attack from the enemies of truly decentralised P2P money. Now they managed to get the moderator u/ShadowOfHarbringer banned. One of THE biggest supporters of free P2P money for the world.

What can be done to revert that unjust ban?

In the future we should ban much quicker scum like the troll that got him banned. That was probably the only mission of this (paid?) troll.

If there were a way to represent BCH's better energy proposition through on-chain proofs, do you think miners will buy in?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2022 12:10 PM PST

I think being open about BCH's energy usage (particularly when compared to transaction throughput) would be a positive signal to establish. It would also shine a light on miners with a negative carbon footprint and motivate a more sustainable operation.

    1. Do you think miners would put themselves under this sort of self-regulation? 1a. What do you think would be a good way to measure interest?
    2. Do you think miners would be motivated to be a carbon neutral operation?
    3. Would anyone be interested in pursuing this sort of effort if there were sufficient interest?

Here's an example of what the dashboard might look like: https://filecoin.energy/

Here's an example of what someone might do with that data: https://filrep.io/?columns=energy&order=desc&sortBy=energy

    Here's more context: https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2021/12/02/filecoin-might-have-a-way-for-bitcoin-to-fight-its-energy-critics-if-miners-use-it/
