Second Geforce GTX 1660 Super not detected but seen in Windows

    Posted: 16 Dec 2021 01:32 AM PST

    Hi all,

I have a fresh install of Windows 10, I have an MSI GTX 1660 Super and a Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super. Windows sees them both in device manager with no issues but MSI and Nicehash don't see the second card.

I have done a DDU unistall of the drivers, the installed the 427 studio driver but to no avail.

In device manager they are shown as geforce 1660 Super, could windows be treating them as the same card and then the apps are not seeing the two cards.

Not really sure how to handle this one.

The card works as I had these two cards plugged into my desktop pc and they worked fine in MSI and Nicehash.

Then I set up this little rig, using an ASUS motherboard but nope only 1 GPU seen. Not sure if there is something in BIOS I have missed. I have swapped the risers, cables around but it just doesnt detect.

    Thanks for any assistance offered.

    Random Hashrate Drops?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2021 01:23 AM PST

My 3080 FE, which usually hits around 85-90mh on NBminer with ETH (I believe I have unlucky hot silicon, as this is after a thorough thermal pad mod) has randomly dropped to 70> at the exact same settings, cooling, etc. I use this card to game on in spare time and don't bother swapping settings because I've gotten some weird behavior from letting up on the core underclock.

73% Power, -502 core, +700 Mem. Always had very weird behavior with this card so I wouldn't be surprised if it were a hardware problem but is this possibly driver related?

Previous issues have been classic overheating (since has been fixed) and currently tends to be unstable at +0 clock speeds and/or full power. Wondering if it's a power draw issue of some kind, maybe from the power supply, or the card itself. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

    Gpu replacement fan

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 11:58 PM PST

    Part no: t129215su

As I'm unable to find a matching fan for my 3080 VISION, I've seen other listings on ebay, aliexpress which have the correct part number and specifications (12V DC, 4Pin, 0.5A) but state they're for different gpus. Would they still be compatible? The ones I've seen are for gigabyte and have a similar diameter to the original 3080 fan

What I learn mining Flux for 24 hours

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 04:08 AM PST

I am a small time miner, 2GPU rig.

Mining flux for 24 hours, I learn Flux is worthless. Anyway to exchange flux into USD or any other crypto result in lost of at least 40%. The origin of this 24 hour experiment is from a few YouTube video about how profitable Flux mining is. It's not profitable right now. Don't let YouTube fool you.

For example. I mined 1 flux, and to exchange into BTC, I would need 80 flux, which yield about 86 dollar in BTC value.

Or 75 Flux, which exchange for 77 dollar in ETH value.

There is no way, to cash out the current 1.8USD=Flux value. Not currently at least, on zelcore wallet.

Small time miner should focus on ETH. Unless you research so much about certain alt coin, and you have strongest conviction that this alt coin will rocket moon. You must be ready to diamond hand ape hold until it moon. Other wise you will lose a lot of money.

Update: Uncertain why there are haters posting hate in reply. This post is factual, and its a good knowledge to share with new small time miners. We all have to start somewhere. part of the start is to learn what is profitable. There is no need for hate speech.
