Looking to Invest into the Metaverse? Sticking with Ethereum is Your Best Bet. Posted: 02 Dec 2021 05:34 AM PST Lately the metaverse is very trendy, but they are still games at the end of the day, and the gaming industry has its risks. Let me show you a few examples: * Cyberpunk 2077: Many years of development, insane hype and news sites being paid to say the alpha (or beta) was good. Then it launched and it had tons of bugs and missing features. CD Projekt's stock price tanked -60%. Still have not recovered. * No Mans Sky: Lots of promises and little delivery on those promises on launch. * Fallout 76. Big disappointment of a game and poor sales compared to Fallout 4 (previous game of the franchise), 2.46M compared to 13.5M. It's important to note that even big companies can fail to deliver; in this case Bethesda. The list goes on... Basically in the gaming industry you can have a game that has a bunch of hype, the alpha and beta look good and there are lots of people talking good about it and then at launch it fails to meet the high expectations. The stock tanks. With the metaverse it's the same, they are currently only games after all. So which metaverse should you choose so you'll get a 10x gain instead of a 10x loss? I don't know, but I can tell you what they all have in common: They are all built on the Ethereum blockchain. If the metaverse concept pops off, you will see benefit in Ethereum as well with none of the risks. Players will be paying ETH gas, thus, burning ETH. ETH price will rise. With so many metaverses built on-top of Ethereum, we can confirm that Ethereum has intrinsic value rather than speculative value, unlike Bitcoin. It is more than just a currency, so you don't have to worry if Ethereum will drop to zero the next day. It is now "too big to fail". If ETH fails, everything built on-top of ETH will fail. The metaverse creators won't let that happen. Even without hype, every metaverse that pops off will inevitably increase ETH price through gas fees. I predict players will migrate through multiple hyped metaverses before settling on the final metaverse that emerges as the victor of them all. Along the way, many metaverses will be shut down or fade into obscurity. Save yourself the risk and stick with Ethereum. [link] [comments]

Technical benefits of ETH vs Algorand Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:08 PM PST I'm not interested in talking about which is going to pump harder. I want to understand if these two chains can both serve different needs in the future, or if despite their technical differences, they largely target the same use cases. If we already had everything ethereum will have 2 years from now, is there still any reason to use Algorand? Is there a different programming model for each? Do they provide different guarantees to developers? Is there any real reason to keep them both around long term? [link] [comments]
Getting .eth domain with minimal gas Posted: 02 Dec 2021 05:05 AM PST I want to buy a domain name using ENS but the gas fees are a lil wild. Does anyone have any methods on how to purchase one. Maybe through a layer 2? I was trying to find ways but was having no luck. [link] [comments]

Is it safe to create new accounts through Web3 JS and Infura network? Posted: 02 Dec 2021 06:47 AM PST Hi, I want to generate accounts for our users. How to move assets from MetaMask efficiently? Posted: 02 Dec 2021 10:29 AM PST So I have 58 MATIC (ERC-20) on my MetaMask that I'm trying to move, or sell, or anything rather than just keep it there. The balance is currently on my Trust Wallet with $20 in ETH beside it. So, basically right now I have $140 stuck in limbo that I can't move around without paying $100+ in exchange/gas fees. Is there a option that I'm not aware of to save me the most money to get the balance to an exchange? [link] [comments]
Blockchain Domains and Wallet Advice Please! Posted: 02 Dec 2021 09:51 AM PST Hi All, I've been following the crypto space and Ethereum in particular for a number of years now, however all of my activity has been limited to centralized exchanges. I'm interested in purchasing a decentralized domain (.ENS, .Crypto, etc) and have a few quick questions, Why should I chose say an ENS domain over something like unstoppabledomains? The former seems very popular because it runs directly on Ethereum, but the latter while issued by a centralized company gives a decentralized NFT domain via polygon. Given the gas fees on Layer One the latter is a lot cheaper. Is there any particular reason to go for an ENS other than just the moral idea of full decentralization (and potential clout haha)? Secondly, I've largely avoided transaction via the Ethereum network despite liking the tech, and have stuck to traditional services to avoid fees. I like to participate more in the ecosystem by trading via a layer 2 like Polygon or Loopring, but would need a Layer 2 wallet solution for my domain purchase. Since I'm doing this for the sake of trying the ecosystem, I'd prefer to do so on a trusted layer 2 compatible wallet provider. Any particular favourites in the community? I'm familiar with how to bridge my assets to layer 2 so that isn't an issue. I just thought I'd seek some advice before plunging in head first! Thanks! [link] [comments]

Could someone help me understand this? Posted: 02 Dec 2021 12:36 PM PST I recently went to swap some wBTC for Ohm on uniswap (~$900). This has been a learning experience. So it took $40 in ETH to get approved and then they wanted an additional ~$170 in ETH for the swap. How is this efficient and what on earth is going on with this gas money. A that price X the number of transactions there is no way this system is financially efficient long term. I also am not a fan that DeFi does not explain this on the exchanges when you are going through it. So now I am stuck sitting on the wBTC (which isn't that big a deal) or I need to Buy $170+ more in ETH (not incuding fees) just to swap my wBTC for Ohm to stake. Fuck all that, how to I get a piece of this gas and fee action? Is there a place to invest to get returns on that? [link] [comments]
What are the most unconventional Ethereum projects you encountered? Posted: 02 Dec 2021 07:27 AM PST Hi, sorry if this seems like an odd question. I was originally gonna ask if someone already created Ethereum Dapps related to relaxation and meditation, but I figured that might too specific. So instead I'll just ask - What are the most unconventional Ethereum projects you encountered? I want to see how deep the Dapp rabbit hole goes and see if there's something that might interest me and I want to try out. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Dec 2021 10:24 AM PST Hi All - I just published a blog on my website about ongoing talks of banning Cryptos in India. Check this link on the website - https://livingstable.com/good-signs-for-indian-crypto-ecosystem-02-dec-2021/ Summary of the blog post : Asides from reassuring people that all remains fine, my other observation is - Contrary to what the criticizers of industry think, decentralized Cryptos with its underlying technology forms the core of Web 3.0 to displace Web 2.0 and improve issues around privacy, security and equity boosting the efforts of Indian government. It's a bit lengthy and barely sophisticated however I spent my effort on reaching people in layman's terms so they can understand it better. Kindly read through and share your feedback. I mean if this gets circulated on Indian domains and diaspora, it would help send the message out pretty loudly. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
