/r/Bitcoin will be matching ~12BTC of your BTC donations. Made gains? Pay it forward, double! Posted: 30 Nov 2021 06:34 AM PST The Bitcoin price has gone up a lot over the past year, so why not prove that the new economy is better than the old one by giving some of your gains to worthy causes? This year, /r/Bitcoin is a sponsor of The Giving Block's #BagSeason event, and the first ~12.155 BTC in donations made on this special page will be matched from the /r/Bitcoin ad fund. You can donate to any of the hundreds of charities supported by The Giving Block, and /r/Bitcoin will match it. (There are also significant tax benefits to donating crypto.) Let's change the world for the better! Donate here. Make sure that you donate on that specific page, or your donation won't be matched. Whether or not you donate, let us know in the comments which charities supported by The Giving Block you think are the best. About the ad fund In 2010-2011, the previous top mod of /r/Bitcoin collected BTC donations with a vague idea that this BTC would be used to promote /r/Bitcoin and/or Bitcoin itself using AdSense ads or something like that. About 22.5 BTC was collected, at the time worth less than $300. When he resigned and made me top mod, he also gave me the MyBitcoin account containing the ad fund. (I luckily moved the BTC out of MyBitcoin right away... a few weeks later they ran away with everyone's BTC.) In the past, some of the other mods used parts of the ad fund to promote /r/Bitcoin by sponsoring some eSports tournaments and by buying some Reddit ads. But I was personally never very interested in the whole ad fund idea, and there haven't been many other people interested in spearheading ad-fund projects, so the remaining ~12 BTC has been sitting around collecting dust for the past several years. I decided this year to finally empty the ad fund, and this donation sponsorship/matching event seemed like a good way to use the BTC for something worthwhile while also maintaining the spirit of the ad fund. Posted: 28 Dec 2021 04:22 AM PST The whole inflation thing finally clicked. I panicked and entered almost at ATH of 69k. Feelsbad. Went down the rabbit hole, hours of research. Fiat, Inflation, USD is the real shitcoin etc. Bought some more at 46k which did help lower avg price but am still nervous. Remember hearing about Btc when it was 7k and thinking "its going to go way higher"...If only I had acted back then. Edit: Woah you guys are amazing! Thank you so much for the support. Especially the ppl who bought at 2017 ATH. Mad respect for you folks! [link] [comments]

Does investing only 200$ to bitcoin make sense for longterm holding?? Posted: 28 Dec 2021 06:29 AM PST Im 19 years old student with no money income and i really want to invest because i feel like i'm missing out the cryptocurrency potential. But at the same time i think investing that little money to bitcoin wouldn't make significant profit. I feel like bitcoin is crypto for people who invest thousands of $ to it. So what do you think should i invest it to bitcoin? [link] [comments]

I made more money dumping all my money into BTC at beginning of year than DCA Posted: 27 Dec 2021 03:40 PM PST For the past 3 years I've been putting 10K into BTC every year. This year I decided to switch it up so I dumped 10K Jan 1st instead of finding dips and DCA. If I would have DCA I barely would have made any money as BTC has made little gains since March. Do you think going forward this is a better strategy than investing $200 a week? [link] [comments]

9 Lessons Bitcoin Will Have Taught Us in 2021. #8: Bitcoin is the Next Bitcoin Posted: 28 Dec 2021 08:08 AM PST The year 2021 will have been a particularly exciting one in the Bitcoin world. It was this year that one country, El Salvador, adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender for the first time. Twelve and a half years after the launch of the Bitcoin network on January 3, 2009, by Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin took another crucial step. The hyperbitcoinization of the world goes through these steps. Of course, the powerful people in the current system immediately criticized the initiative of President Nayib Bukele. The fear of the IMF or the World Bank is clear: that Bitcoin will make them obsolete. We will see if this happens in the future as more countries adopt Bitcoin as their legal tender. For other countries will follow the path laid out by Nayib Bukele. It is only a matter of time. All the small countries left behind by the current monetary and financial system have a huge interest in seizing the Bitcoin opportunity to try to change the course of their destiny. The adoption of Bitcoin by countries will still be a strong trend to observe in 2022. Apart from that, 2021 will have brought us its share of lessons as always. Some of these lessons were already known, but I thought it was important to make a small assessment for the newcomers. In the latest issue of In Bitcoin We Trust Newsletter, I share with you 9 big lessons Bitcoin taught us in 2021:
