My home-made money printing machine Posted: 31 Oct 2021 02:30 PM PDT https://i.imgur.com/tawZjmg.jpg It was definitely fun. Very hard up here in Manitoba to get any sort of cards though, which is why there's such a random hodgepodge. For the record, the 6700xt was bought on day 1 when they were pretty cheap(compared to now), 690 CAD. For an efficient 48 mh's that's not so bad. Anyways in Canadian prices -1660s - 415.00 - 31.5 mh - came with a PSU, newegg combo deal in january, which is why price is...reasonable - they hadn't gone completely insane yet -2070 - 600.00 - 43mh -6700xt 700.00 - 47.5mh -5700 500.00 - 51.5mh -3060ti LHR - 660.00 - 43.5mh -3070 LHR - 1k!! - 45mh - aorus master with a fuckin' screen on the side, I'd probably take this purchase back now if I could - memexpress got me with this one. I went there to buy a 3080ti for 1499, there website said they had 3 left and it updates instantly. This is the one day in history it didn't work right, and only for that card. So I drove 50 minutes there to find out they had sold out of them that morning. So I bought this - I wanted something to game on. I know I could sell it and probably get a couple hundred back on top, but it's just good enough @ 4k on doom eternal and MSFS2020 that I guess I'll keep it around I also had a 1060 6gb and a 1660 that I mined on for 6 months then sold for more than I paid for them because this market is so fucked up. And I broke even like 2 months ago, then bought that 3070. So.. every cent I mine now is free fuckin money, and it feels cool as hell. Oh yea I bought half a dozen risers and one of those uhhh...splitter things for the risers to plug them all into 1 slot, but all the other computor stuff was in my old PC. Everytime I think we're gonna fall of a cliff, the price goes up or it gets busy or something and I'm reminded we should still be able to get like 8 months of good money still - and who even knows if the party will really end next summer. A lot of stuff can happen still. The GPU companies have alot to gain by keeping mining going somehow. Maybe they'll pay off some ethereum developers under the table or something, fuck, IDK. ASrock shuts down within one minute of mining. Posted: 31 Oct 2021 11:09 AM PDT Im using ASROCK h110 btc+ mobo. Intel i3 6300. 8gb DDR4 RAM. 250 gb HDD. 5 RTX 3060. 1 Rtx 3060 ti. 300 watt psu. 2000 watt psu. Windows 10. Doesnt matter if I am using Claymore or T-rex. I tried I did have some sparking because of the custom case that shut it down. All hardware works but I think I may be dealing with an electricity issue. The rig reboots windows and crashes. No BSOD. Im about to get extension cables and build a custom cheaper chassis to help organize and hopefully prevent issues. The components and PC run fine otherwise. Any help would be appreciated [link] [comments]
Some M.2 adaptors for GPU risers have pins for power and others don’t… why is that? Posted: 31 Oct 2021 12:01 PM PDT What does the additional power actually do and is it needed? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Oct 2021 11:37 AM PDT Hey, I have 3 EVGA 3080 Ti mining ergo. Card 2 runs much (13 degrees) hotter than the others. I'm wondering if something is wrong (e.g. bad paste) or if it is just silicon lottery. In the end, should I RMA it now or is it within spec? Card 1: In gaming PC (running with 2 cards on the computer) Card 2: Hanging on rack, far from other cards Included is the command line (running with 5 cards) Card 3: Also hanging on rack (running with 2 cards) Card 2 is 13 degrees hotter at the core and a couple-few degrees hotter in the memory. It's also not holding as high of a core clock (cclock locked at 1840, it sits just under 1700, while the others at +190 cclock sit around 1860 at the same power level—the LHR issues caused me to do two different types of clocking). Is this a pasting issues? This card is brand new on Friday. Fully powered through 3 8 pin PCIe cables. However, this card is running through a 1 to 4 PCIe usb splitter (stick it into PCIe slot, give you 4 usb outs for mining instead of the normal 1), while the others go straight into PCIe slots on the motherboard. Would that effect anything? On the temps, GPU2, MEM1, and MEM2 sensors on card 2 are 5 degrees hotter according to hwinfo, while the others are about the same.
