Rules to live by in crypto

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 03:09 AM PDT

    1. Never invest money you will need in a short period of time. This is not a game, so quit playing.
    2. Never invest money you will need during an emergency. You might be down at that moment.
      1. When investing forget about the money you invest. Solid projects go up and down on the daily but on the yearly it's mostly up.
    3. Get use to 20-50% drops and months if not years of no sign of life. The faster you get use to this the less stressed you will be.
    4. ALWAYS GO AGAINST THE MARKET, by that I mean panic BUY when everyone is panic selling, take profit when everyone is FOMOing in.
    5. Time in the market beats timing the market! Persistence always wins.
    6. Everybody is a genius in a bull run.
    7. NEVER SHARE YOUR PRIVATE KEY OR INPUT YOUR 12/24 WORD PHRASE IF YOU ARE ASKED BY ANYONE ANYWHERE.
      1. If you get an email that causes you fear and a heart attack it's most likely a scam. ALWAYS DOBLE CHECK THE EMAIL, if it's a scam it will be some random email.
    8. NEVER CLICK RANDOM LINKS IN EMAILS! You ain't getting shit free in life.
    9. If it's too good to be true, it most likely is.
    10. Meme coins are a gamble not an investment, always take profit or at least your initial investment. Have something to show for it, rich on paper is not something to be proud of. Life changing money mean nothing if you don't change your life with them.
    11. Never chase pumps. You missed it. It's gone. Move on. Don't chase it. You playing with fire. 14.Never panic sell, there will almost always be a bounce if you want to sell do it then.
    12. (For USA residents) If you sell for profit or switch between cryptos be ready to pay taxes. Yes you can hide it, but remember sooner or later Uncle Sam will get his piece of the pie if not the whole cake.
    13. Always have a nice stack on the side for major dip days. Millionaires are made during bear markets.
    14. The trend is your friend until the end.
    15. Do not leave large funds on an exchange, not your key not your crypto. Go ask those who used mt gox, cryptopia and many other "good exchanges".
    16. Be prepared to be down or even for at least 2 years, yes even if you are up 1000%, bear markets can be brutal. Ask those who were up in late 2017.
    17. Quality over quantity! It's better to invest big on 5 projects than small on 15 projects.
    18. Don't hate on Bitcoin. It made all this possible. It will remain king no matter what place it's in. It's like hating your grandpa for being slower than you. He is the reason you alive in the first place.

Been in this game since 2016, I know it ain't much compared to some other cats on this forum but I believe they would also agree.feel free to add shit I missed.

Vitalik Buterin, Co-Founder of Ethereum, Now Has A Net Worth Of $1.46 Billion

At first I never understood how NFTs hold their value until I compared them to physical collectibles and art.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 09:02 AM PDT

I've tried and tried again, but I still don't understand how NFTs can hold such a wide range of values, what people do with them, or anything else about them. Some NFTs have the appearance of how 5th graders would draw them. This thought is just beyond it.

People tell me they're collectibles when I tell them I don't understand it. Then I realize why I don't get it: It's the same thing about retro collectibles. They're like those baseball cards, game cartridges, Old CD's or anything that's been a limited edition from before. The more rare the stuff gets, the more their prices increase.

One of the NFT collectibles that caught my attention is Papermen: think of it like Cryptopunk and Crypto Kitties except this time it's digital origami. They're a new NFT series of one-of-a-kind works of art.

Back to the topic of NFT art. People who first invested a few hundred or thousand dollars in ETH now own millions or tens of millions of dollars in the cryptocurrency. NFTs are one of the first "fun" crypto ecosystems, allowing bag holders to spend their ETH on anything they want.

    Ethereum PoS Merge Countdown

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 01:56 PM PDT

    Hi all,

I have spent some time creating a website that shows a countdown to the Ethereum Mainnet merge with the PoS upgrade. I wasn't able to find anything like that so I made a one. Currently the website counts down towards 1st of June 2022 which is the speculative merge date, however, I am able to amend this on the fly. Don't take this literally!

There are four sections to the website- main page with the countdown and a subscription box to get notified when the merge happens (done via MailChimp), about page, ticker symbol and a source where I do posts/updates. I might do some improvements to the timer so it displays better on mobile and so on but in the meantime it is what it is. If you have any suggestions, I am open to them.

Website: Ethereum Merge | Home (ethereum2.page)

    Thanks for looking.

The love for Ethereum dissipates the moment you try to execute 5-10 transactions. Can we please accelerate POS migration? The transaction cost and speed on the current network is disgusting.

Relatively new to crypto, took my meme coin profits and have 2.2 eth. Looking for sound suggestions for a secondary long term investment with added funds. Leaving that eth right where it is... let me know what you all think, thanks!

ENS Domain too expensive... Is there a work around?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 12:06 PM PDT

    Hi there, newbie here

just posted a few weeks ago about ENS domains and the crazy gas prices. As a work around people suggested me to take a look a L2 solutions like Arbitrum. I did it, but couldn't find a way to use Arbitrum to cut the gas price to get an ENS domain.

Is there a work around? Something that I'm missing? Would appreciate your help, thanks.

Need some cash quick to cover an unexpected expense. Have enough ETH to make it happen, but is it worth going through a L2 solution? I've never used L2 because I'm satisfied just letting my eth sit there

Hey folks, like the title says, I need some more cash in my bank account to cover my ass until I get my paycheck next Friday. My goal is to move from Exodus to Coinbase and just cash out. Does it make sense to use a layer 2 solution (which I have zero idea how to do, but sounds like I would still pay an intial normal tx fee in eth anyway) or does it make more sense to just eat the tx fee since I have no intention of moving the rest of my eth before Eth2 happens anyway?

/edit ate the fee. Someone tried to scam me in the process though, I kinda have to laugh at the obvious attempt

Obvious scam is obvious. Didn't even google the site because it's so fishy, coming from a user with no posts, 1 karma, made in July

    Transaction prioritization

    Posted: 05 Nov 2021 08:00 PM PDT

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my post.

I wanted to figure out how miners pick transaction that they are going to process.
I know, gas, but stick with me:

10 days ago I sent a transaction with a 70 gas. Today gas reached 56 gas. Why did it not take my 70 gas transaction? How does time factors in miners process to pick transactions? Is is just a game of economy of resources? Looking for a transaction so far away from the current ones is just too expensive?

    And a second question:
If I line up two transactions, nonce 1 and 2. Will transaction 2 only disperse to the blockchain when the tx 1 gests done or does it waits for the first one to be processed then it goes to the blockchain? I'm pretty sure that it goes out when its lined up since etherscan picks it up. The issue here is: Is it impacted by the same factors that did not let my transaction on the issue above to be processed?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and I'd love to hear back from you guys
