GPU Mining What do you think?

    What do you think?

Do you think is it worth to start mining now?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 01:28 PM PDT

Hello, I have discovered the world of crypto months ago and since then I want to try to mine coins.

Do you think this is the right time to start since Eth is coming to and end and merge with Eth 2.0?

    Thank you!

    Eth 2.0 and my prediction

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 09:17 PM PDT

My current prediction is GPU mining will become a whole lot more harder for everyone. What will take a year to pay off a rig will now take a lot longer. If we are going to make the switch sometime at the end of this year to 2.0, every single miner will need to jump ship to something else. Those with tons of cards and giant rigs will have to share with everyone else. You're taking away one of the biggest coins from gpu miners and now forcing everyone to find something else. There doesn't seem to be many other good options out there. If everyone jumps to those decent options then what's left for everyone else?

Does anyone have a different opinion on this? I can't see how it's worth it anymore for someone getting into gpu mining this late in the game.

    GPU detected but "stopped"

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 07:55 AM PDT

hello! i am slowly adding to my mining rig, i currently have 1 1080ti plugged into a 16x slot, and 2 1060s on 1x risers. Those 3 are running great! i bought 1 more 1060 to put on a riser, device manager picked it up but had a caution sign and says it was "stopped" how do you resolve this? i reinstall NVidia drivers every time i add a card. amd 3600 cpu, asus tuf b450 gaming, corsair cx750F psu, windows 10, using nicehash.

what's the maximum number of 6800xt cards in a single rig?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 12:26 AM PDT

currently im running TB250 6 slot and TB360 12 slot motherboards with 6/12 cards in each rig. In another thread someone mentioned PCIE splitters. If you were to go this approach, could you run 24 (or even 48) cards in a single rig?

    Best platform to sell 3060ti’s

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 06:14 AM PDT

    Hey there,

I have a handful of 3000 series (non LHR) cards that I am looking to sell. I have used eBay a lot over the years, but their fees suck and people are scammers. Is there a better platform to sell these cards on?

Sleeping rig on HiveOS. Rig has been working fine for the past 2 days after I shifted it to a new corner of the house. Been trying to run a couple of flight sheets but it stops after a couple of accepted shares and has this sleeping icon. Tried restarting a couple of times and lowered the OC.

Mining Ravencoin: MSI 3060TI 6% Rejection Rate, Is it Normal?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 05:42 AM PDT

    HI!

I got a MSI Ventus 2X 3060ti, Have been mining for 2 hours and i'm getting 6.18% rejection rate. Mining Ravencoin

    Is it normal?

My overclock settings in Afterburner is:
    PL 88% (175W)
    CC -50
    MC +1100
    Temperature 63 Deg
    28.22 MH/S

I tried to wait for the dag to be build before applying my overclock settings.

The rejection rates seems to keep building up.

My other 3060 is only having a rejection rate of less than 1%.

    What can i do?

    Can a use a 3060 Non-LHR (driver 470.05) with other cards?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2021 12:18 AM PDT

I am buying a 3060 that is 6 months old so its hashrate can be unlocked. However, I also have 3x 3090s, 1x 3070 LHR, 1x 2080 Super, and 1x 1060 6GB. Can I use these all together with this driver?

    Thanks

    2 RTX 3070 vs 1xRTX3080 and 1xGTX 1080ti

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 07:38 PM PDT

I'm planning on mining on one gpu in my pc while I use the other for game development and CAD. I have about $1600 to spend, have found a good deal on an RTX 3080 non LHR with some driver issues the owner wasn't able to fix so I was thinking of solving the issue (it's about cuda device not found) and using it to mine, leaving me with about $600 left to try to find a second hand mining gpu like a 1080 ti. Or I found a deal on 2 non LHR RTX 3070 that i could basically just use my entire budget on and mine on. Thoughts? I would really appreciate the help here, i've researched the hashrates and appears like the 3080 1080 ti combo is a bit more profitable but it would be more of a hassle to find a gpu in that price range and maybe by the time i get one it would've just been more profitable to mine with the 3070s from the start.

Computer wont detect 4th GPU on riser.

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 07:16 PM PDT

    Hi Everyone,

I have 2 X Zotac RTX 3060 and 2 X Zotac RTX 3060ti on BIOSTAR Z170GT7, i5-6500 CPU and 1000w Seasonic and I can confirm that all are working fine. The computer detects and mines normally on all 4 when I put all the GPUs directly into the PCIE X16 slots on my MOBO.

Due to the temps being very high, I decided to use risers instead. However, Computer can detect only 3 GPUs with 2 GPUs directly on PCIE X16 slots and the 3rd on risers connected to the 3rd PCIE X16 slot. With the 4th GPU on risers and connected to the 4th PCIE X16 slot, the computer wont even post. It'll give an error code "A0" which google says is considered normal. "A0" also appears on bottom right of my screen. Beyond that nothing else happens.

So far, I've just settled with 3 GPU (2 directly on PCIE X16 slots and the 3rd on risers connected to the 3rd PCIE X16 slot.) and its mining away normally with temps in acceptable range.

I've determined its not a problem with the GPU, PSU, cables and risers. I've done the usual troubleshooting, swapped out the cards, risers, cables etc, reseated everything as well. No issue on the hardware as far as I can see since 4 GPU directly on MOBO works fine.

It's just my computer wont detect the 4th GPU if its on risers connected to the 3rd PCIE X16 slot or any PCIE X1 slots. Appreciate any help from the community.

p.s. I've ordered server fans (6000rpm) in case things don't work out. Hopefully its enough to cool all 4 GPUs when I plug them back on the MOBO.

edit: I've done some extra troubleshooting.

Put the 4th GPU+riser on the the 4th PCIE X16 slot and computer doesn't go beyond code "A0".

Put the 4th GPU+riser on the the 1st PCIE X1 slot and computer boots up as per normal but doesn't detect the 4th card.

    Also, I checked that my CPU has max 16 PCIE Lanes. GPUZ is telling me the follow;

1st GPU on MOBO on 1st PCIE X16 slot running at GEN 3.0 X8

2nd GPU on MOBO on 3rd PCIE X16 slot running at GEN 2.0 X4

3rd GPU on Riser at 2nd PCIE X16 slot running at GEN 3.0 X1

Maybe issue is not enough PCIE Lanes? Do risers take up more PCIE lanes? Since all 4 GPU on MOBO works fine.

I dont even get the mobo startup screen to get into my BIOS so i'm not sure where to go from here..

    Mobo is B450-F Faming II

SSD is just an Inland M.2 250G

    Any help is super appreciated!
