$500,000 PRIZE FOR THE PERSON WHO CAN UNLOCK LHR Posted: 08 Sep 2021 05:43 AM PDT Seriously, could we start a prize fund to entice some clever folk to figure out a bypass for the LHR cards? There has to be a good few 100,000 people with lhr cards, that's a few dollars each to make the prize pool. I don't know how we could go about it, maybe some sort of gofund me type but the money doesn't get released until "the job is done" Is this me just wishful thinking or do you think something like this could work? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 05:40 AM PDT I have over the months acquired a collection of cards and I'm looking to start a rig. I have 6 completely different cards: MSI 3060 12gb Gigabyte 3060ti 12gb Powercolor 5700xt 8gb Gigabyte 3070 8gb Powercolor Red Devil 6800xt 16gb ASUS TUF 3080 10gb Is there any reason I can't or shouldn't run these cards in one rig? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 07:32 AM PDT I have a "ok" deal on Msi 3080 ventus 3X but from what I found it's very bad at mining (thermal throttling). I realise all GDDR6X memory throttles but is ventus 3X that bad? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Sep 2021 07:31 AM PDT So I have picked up a couple bundles buying GPU's, right now my rig looks like a gaming rig more then a mining rig. The market is flooded with PSU's, motherboards, M.2's and RAM because of all the bundles being sold right now through antonline and Newegg etc… My plan is to basically once I start seeing profits to replace the motherboard and cpu and ram and SSD later with cheap bare bones minimum and then take all the good-ish pieces I've gotten from bundles and just build a gaming pc. I mean I might as well, I'm almost there anyways. Anyone else gone this route? I hadn't really thought about it but I live in probably one of cheapest places to live for Facebook marketplace and OfferUp. I mean, if you offer something at 1/2 price these scrubs will still offer you 1/2 of that so it isn't even worth selling to be honest. (Phoenix area for those that want to know). Any point in buying LHR cards? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 02:33 AM PDT Are all LHR cards useless even if you mine nicehash for example? Also while we're here i heard about the 3060 nerf are the 3060s still useful or just garbage now? Or was this only an eth nerf? Sorry I'm new and trying to figure this stuff out before i buy my first rig [link] [comments]
Poolin extremely low eth hashrate Posted: 07 Sep 2021 10:35 PM PDT Hi! Couple of days Ive had extremely low hasrate on the pool side, like 54mhs with 3090 and 1080 combined even tho lolminer shows 145mh/s, looks like Im gonna never reach threashold now :/ gone back to nicehash -.- had almost 200euros worth of eth there from 3 weeks of mining. :/ [link] [comments]

Airflow discussion - use of ceiling exhaust fans (think bathroom/kitchen exhausts). Posted: 07 Sep 2021 07:01 PM PDT Hey all, I'm in the process of creating a mining room in my house to consolidate all my rigs (they are spread out at the moment - I'm getting new circuits installed in the room to consolidate). It's a largeish room, probably about 6m x 10m with a raised ceiling in the centre. It was originally designed as a bar room - even has a bar built into it (which I need to somehow get out and sell). I've converted it into my gym and want to make it my mining room as well. The problem will be cooling, it's got two large sliding doors that lead to the backyard patio and one double door that leads to the main house, but they aren't conveniently located. Plus my gym equipment is kind of centrally located in the room (you know... to stop barbells from going into walls :P). So my thoughts are, install the rigs on the side and, above them, install an exhaust fan in the ceiling. Put a high powered fan from the double doors that lead to the main house and point them towards the rigs. The rest of the house is AC controlled (not the bar for some reason...) so stays quite cool. Other options would be to leave one sliding door open, say halfway, and build an intake and exhaust fan into that (top and bottom)? I am dreading how that will look though and was hoping a ceiling fan would be enough to keep the room from overheating? How effective are those things? How cost effective? Are they worse than those 8" inline fans so many people use in grow tents? I was wondering if any have utilised anything similar? Or if any air flow experts could give some tips for keeping such a large room cooler during the summer months (I'm in Australia, they are on their way!). Cheers for your thoughts and shared experience! [link] [comments]
Are you finding more and more you can't trust that EVGA 'KR' cards are full hashrate? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 12:40 AM PDT I saw redpanda vid where he bought a dozen or twenty 'KR' cards and they were LHR. I just bought a 'KR' card a few days ago and it turns out it's LHR too. Anyone else? Is there a new reliable way to tell an EVGA card is FHR or not? [link] [comments]

Does anyone ever use a Riser Card PCI-E X8 X16 ? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 10:55 PM PDT I only have PCIe 4.0 x1 slots left on my system, as my two 16x lanes are being used. Has anyone ever used one of these splitters before that turns a 16x to (2) 16x and (1) 8x lanes? https://www.provantage.com/supermicro-rsc-r2uw-2e8e16~7SUP96AE.htm It would be nice if I could use this, as I really do not want to start a whole system for just 1 GPU, which will be a 3060 TI, which requires PCIe 4.0 x16. Thanks [link] [comments]

3060Ti and 3070Ti FE cards around. Legit? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 12:46 AM PDT I've seen a new incidence of nvidia FE cards in the "used" market (flEaBay, Facespace Marketspace, etc.) - 3060Ti and 3070Ti Founder Edition cards. Asus tuf rtx 3090 thermal pads replacement Posted: 07 Sep 2021 08:26 PM PDT Hi all, I replaced thermal pads of my Asus tuf rtx 3090 today to lower down the vram temp as I did for my other cards but instead of having lower temperatures for the same settings I'm getting at least 6 °C higher. I know some posts already exist for this card but could not find anyone with good results.. Can someone please share what he did for this card? Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments] |
