Posted: 11 Sep 2021 08:14 AM PDT I'm very new to mining and I plan on mining ETH and was planning to use my gaming PC with a 3060ti. Should I mine in the largest pool or the smallest pool for the best results? Currently running using Trex. [link] [comments]
Best laptop for GPU mining that would give me ROI the quickest. Posted: 11 Sep 2021 08:12 AM PDT I have never mined but the concept is very interesting to me . I have access to free electricity and I need a new laptop badly, although my budget is a little tight. I thought of buying a new laptop with my credit card, and using it to mine. What will be a good laptop that would pay for it self if I use it to mine 24/7 with good ventilation and in front of an A/C. For context, I am a student and live in the U.S. Any insights are appreciated! [link] [comments]
RX 5700 fans dying one after another Posted: 11 Sep 2021 07:39 AM PDT I own an ASUS TUF RX 5700 8G OC card. Non EVO (yeah, I know...), and the 3rd fan from the left died a while ago. Bought a replacement from AliExpress and changed it. It's been a week now and the middle fan is dead. They both died in the same way, making a rattling sound and stopping/slowing down randomly. Is this just a coincidence I got a bad card or are the fans just bad? They are branded First D, and the replacament I got is branded Everflow. I've been mining RVN with it 7/24 for a week now and 50-60 hours a week for a month before that. Fans have been working at 50 to 70 percent and temps were normal (50C core, 90-96C memory). Replaced thermal pads and cleaned it thoroughly. RMA is not an option (no box or documents), selling is not an option, so basically can't get rid of it and gotta find why this is happening. TL;DR: ASUS TUF RX 5700 8G OC (non EVO) rightmost fan died a while back and now the middle fan is dead (both First D), replaced the first one with Everflow and considering doing the same for the other one but I gotta know why this is happening. I love all your rig pics but tell me, how are you finding ALL these GPUs for your rigs? Posted: 11 Sep 2021 07:28 AM PDT I'm in Canada and I need to pay through the roof for anything used right now. Even new cards are hard to come buy. I was lucky to score one 3070ti for gaming purposes (and mining of course). I also have my old 1060 6GB mining right now. [link] [comments]

Custom coolers/ducts for multi GPU Miners Posted: 10 Sep 2021 08:38 AM PDT Hello! We had a client bring this across my desk and I figured I would offer it here too.. They are having us design a custom duct to allow their cards to breathe better in the rig setup. From my understanding (REALLY FREAKING LIMITED) different boards will have different spacing, but heat is ALWAYS the problem here. They are starting with a passive venturi style opening but it will also have holes for fan sizes of their choice. I wanted to ask here, one, if you all even think this would work, and 2, if you think it is worth us making it for some of the popular boards out there. If the answer to question 2 is yes, I will have some follow up questions (card spacing, dimensional requirements, etc.), so be aware lol. These would be 3D printed out of PETG which can handle 70C for extended periods of time, so the heat on the plastic is not a concern. And yes, this is through my company, 3D Musketeers. I figure if we are going to do the work on one, modifying it to fit the others would be easy. Client said I should ask here, so here I am lol (I also think he is trying to get the initial design for less as we can sell more than just one?) Thanks! [link] [comments]
will rtx a2000 be any good for mining ? Posted: 10 Sep 2021 08:55 AM PDT I have been trying to figure out how the a2000 will likely perform. from what IÄve read in news articles it seems that people expect it to perform similarly to rtx 3060 in most workloads which would be great. but when looking at the cards specs it shows a significantly lower memory bandwidth. Sooooo... will that matter ? what do you guys expect it to perform like ? [link] [comments]
