Best crypto friendly bank or credit card

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 04:26 PM PDT

Does anyone know of a fiat bank or credit card that allows you to spend fiat yet earn crypto as a reward? Like a crypto back instead of a cash back rewards card? I heard Coinbase maybe soon allowing direct deposits from payroll accounts. A friend asked me this question and my first thought was to just take out the cash reward equivelent and buy crypto manually but I thought I'd ask if amyone knows of a service, bank or credit card that supports thos or has plans to support this type of customer loyalty programs.

    Validator Assistance Smart Contract

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 08:38 PM PDT

    Friends of Ethereum and Reddit,

I have fallen deep down the Ethereum rabbit-hole.

A few months back, a family member came to me seeking help in creating their own Ethereum validator. Specifically, they had concerns due to the knowledge of hardware and basic programming required to successfully stake their ETH. After weeks researching the hardware and security requirements, I got their validator live as quickly as possible, which then led to a handful of other friends and their family members gaining interest and requesting the same services from me.

After diving further into the communities around validating and Ethereum, and weeks of reading posts here about users wanting to validate but unsure of how to do so themselves - I decided I needed to expand my services beyond those in my direct social circle. But how? How could I gain the trust of others whom I do not have direct social connection to, to actually perform on what I promised to do? How could I trust those same people to compensate me for the time, knowledge and efforts required to create a working validator? Fortunately, there is a system which provides the ability to transact in a trustless environment. It would just take a little elbow grease to get a smart contract built on that platform. I got to work building a contract on Ethereum right away.

Of course there are many exchanges and other protocols that allow both custodial and non-custodial staking and validating, but they charge fees and you don't always have direct control of the hardware or your coins. What I am providing is the ability for anyone and everyone to have their very own validator physically in their possession. This contract allows for anyone to contract me to walk them through the validator building process, 1 on 1, and step by step via text or video, whichever you feel more comfortable with. I will walk you through what exactly is happening with the validator, what hardware to buy, how to set up the various processes, how to keep it secure, how to ensure maximum up time and how to monitor the machine throughout its life. I will even build and send the validator to you if you prefer, walking you through the last few privacy-sensitive steps so I never need to know any of the your private keys. This does still introduce some obvious security concerns, but some may prefer to have the majority of processes completed for them.

So how does all this work? Essentially the contract acts as an escrow account that a customer deposits my fee into, where it becomes locked for a specified period of time. Once I see the deposit, I begin working with the customer in their preferred way to get their validator up and running. Once the validator tied to their ETH address which made the deposit to my contract becomes active and holds a balance > 32, then and only then am I able to withdraw those funds. If the specified time period passes and for some reason there is not a working validator tied to the customers ETH1 address, then that customer is able to withdraw their ETH as a refund since I did not perform as promised. In this way, the customer can be certain they will get a working validator or their ETH back, and I can be sure I will be compensated for my time/resources. If you or someone you know would like to become a validator, but don't know where to start - feel free to send me a DM on here and I will provide you with further information either here on reddit or on discord if you prefer about what all goes in to validating, and how my contract works. I can either walk you through every nitty-gritty detail, or I can create and send the validator to you via signature-required 3rd party shipping. I realize me creating a computer validating for Ethereum with significant financial value tied to it has inherent security risk, but it's no different than trusting an exchange with your keys, and we have already seen millions USD worth of ETH disappear in this way. Additionally, my business model is to charge a fee for the service, not cheat anyone. My contract requires people to spread the word about me in positive light, if I were to ever act dishonestly, my reputation would immediately vaporize. I am here to help individuals, strengthen the community, lower the barriers to entry and minimize the exchanges and larger organizations presence in our decentralized space.

Thank you for your time, and happy validating!

PS I am verified on Etherscan which allows for interaction through their platform. Feel free to ask any questions below or via DM!

Buy eth directly on layer 2

Is there a way to buy Eth directly into a layer 2 solution to avoid having to pay gas for a bridge fee? In particular optimism or arbitrum would be ideal.

    More ETH news?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 05:25 PM PDT

Can anyone explain how the ETH development process is? I am hungry for updates on, how things are going. It does not satisfy my hunger to read that next milestone is The Merge, which will happen between 2021Q4 and 2022Q3. There must be some internal "project plan", where it's possible to see which parts are currently being developed/reviewed/tested/deployed or similar.

Can anyone make me more clever on this?
