L2 fee is quite high, is ETH practical to use in real life? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 06:44 PM PDT I see the L2 fee from https://l2fees.info/ and it is not cheap. I think to be practical, the fee should be super cheap (< 5 cents). Do you guys think that ETH is practical to use in real life? [link] [comments]

What are you doing the most of in crypto right now? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 07:47 PM PDT This is the third poll i've posted and I think the responses from the first two have been quite interesting! In the last poll, for example, I was quite surprised that the majority of responses (41.9%) were hodling their coins on a centralised exchange. For this one, it would be interesting to see what everyone is currently doing the most of in the crypto space? Similar to wallets, it's likely people are doing multiple things equally. In which case pick your most preferred one! Reddit polls are only limited to 6 options, so I've likely missed out on a few, feel free to comment if so. [link] [comments]
Can someone explain to me why NFT “clones” are selling for so much? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 04:28 PM PDT Ok so I kinda understand how someone might see the cryptopunks or Ether rocks projects as valuable digital collectibles, but what's going on with the craze over the clone projects? I see so many lazy cryptopunks clone projects (no affiliation to larva labs) with no-name "artists" behind them selling for a lot.. why? Is it just scammers trying to scam each other? We're at the point where the successful clone projects are themselves getting cloned.. is it just because rarity? The amount of shits I took this week are rare, does that make it worth 2 eth per turd? Someone please explain. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Sep 2021 06:57 PM PDT Hi Guys, I was trying to buy an xxxx.eth domain yesterday. The initial registration price was 100 bucks but after registration, it's asking for $12000. Am i missing something? [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Sep 2021 02:32 AM PDT So, I want to write this here as a warning for other people. Maybe someone can tell me a better place to put this warning. Let me explain the process of how it works Discord messageI receive a discord message from a random user with a bunch of emojis (I removed them to make the txt easier to read)
Ok, so let's review the checklist:
Instead of disregarding it I decided to check how the system works. The websiteOnce you enter to their website, it is a low quality dashboard template you can easily find online. It also has all the terms and condition stuff which they probably ripped from some other place. I created an account and was surprised that I have to verify my email and I can also activate 2FA. Then I added the code and ta-da, now I have 7.1 ethereum. And here is the scam, when I tried to extract those ethereum I have the following message:
So it's clear that you have to give them money so you can extract your own. And I assume that once you transfer it to them they'll just keep it. Of course I didn't transfer to them, but I assume that's how it works. So heads up everyone, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. [link] [comments]
Why is deflating ETH a good idea? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 01:04 PM PDT Before you tear my head off, I'm simply asking this as a question. ETH's primary function is to fuel the Ethereum network by providing an incentive for miners to process transactions. If ETH deflates and the price theoretically increases, won't the gas fees technically increase since although they are proportionally unaffected by the deflation, the dollar cost of each ETH would increase. For those who staked with Lido, was it worth it? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 07:19 PM PDT 10% fee for only 4.5% APR seems extremely long term...as in decades. Also, it appears it would literally convert my ETH into tokens. Whats your take? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Sep 2021 01:53 PM PDT This project is never mentioned in ethereum subreddits as if it does not exit. Seems like NFT developers also prefer IPFS for storing data. Why ethswarm is so unpopular among ethereum community? Is there anything wrong with it? [link] [comments]
Scaling Ethereum - The Daily Gwei #329 Posted: 07 Sep 2021 08:11 AM PDT

Posted: 07 Sep 2021 07:43 PM PDT Is there a useful purpose for using the term 'Gas' as opposed to saying 'transaction fee', or just 'fee'? If not, what differentiates 'gas' from 'transaction fee'. It seems that in an already confusing and intimidating space, the more 'things' people can recognize as something they are familiar with the better it will be for adoption, though maybe adoption is too near sighted of a goal. What are the downsides to Polygon for NFTs? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 10:22 AM PDT I have a time sensitive NFT that needs to be minted very soon & I want people to have a chance to buy one without paying like 500% of the cost in gas… Is there anything I should know before making the decision to mint on polygon or ETH?
