Question about using XRP ToolKit to trade on XRP Ledger DEX Posted: 21 Aug 2021 07:25 PM PDT I am trying to determine if using XRP Tool Kit to buy XRP is really worth it over just using an exchange like Bitstamp...makes sense for trading assets, but when I want to onboard or redeem a USD IOU/token for actual USD through a gateway like Bitstamp, it seems like the fees from the gateways are almost as much as if I just used them as an exchange to trade in the first place. For example, say I have 100 USD and want to buy XRP on the XRP Ledger DEX using XRP Toolkit. I first have to go to a gateway like Bitstamp to convert my USD to a USD IOU/token. BitStamp charges 0.2% for the IOU conversion, but their spot trade fee is 0.5%. So on that $100 USD it is 20 cents vs 50 cents USD. Seems like more steps involved using XRP Toolkit for not much savings. Am I missing something? Thanks for any insights...I have not used XRP Toolkit yet, so I may have this process mixed up. Just trying to see if all the extra steps in using it are actually worth it. Please let me know if I am missing something here. [link] [comments] |
