Can you use NVIDIA Tesla GPUs to mine crypto? Posted: 22 Aug 2021 07:55 AM PDT I plan to start mining cryptocurrency, but not without spending 10,000+ dollars. If I were using a mining rig that supports 6 GPUs, could I use 5 Tesla cards and 1 other card with display connections to mine crypto? [link] [comments]
My mining setup before I move to my new apartment Posted: 22 Aug 2021 04:38 AM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/oXk5c0B Still looking to add 3 or 4 more gpu's into it. I hit a bad silicone lottery on that 590, literally cant overclock it at all. I've tried to flash bios and all sorts of other shit and I just cant seem to get it past 25 without crashing or being unstable. Thinking about selling it and just going all RTX 20 and 30 series. Good vibes :) [link] [comments]

MSI B550 gaming plus, many questions Posted: 22 Aug 2021 08:09 AM PDT Currently I am using a B550 gaming plus Motherboard. Unfortunately, I must use wifi so this leaves me with 3 pcie slots. So far I was able to connect and run two 3080 and one 480 on those. They are working fine with cgminer but trex doesn't see the AMD card. Any idea? More importantly I have another 3080 that is currently running in a separate computer and that I would like to put on the rig so I bought a M2 to pcie adapter, unfortunately when I connect a card to it nothing happens. Do I need to do anything beyond connecting it to the board? Any magic bios settings? On a separate note, I have 2 more cards incoming so I ordered a 1 to 4 pcie adapter. Are these ok or should I buy another mobo? (I am running Windows 10) [link] [comments]
PC going to sleep when turning off new monitor Posted: 22 Aug 2021 07:53 AM PDT Hey guys. Having a weird issue: just bought a Samsung Odyssey G5. I have two cards mining in my gaming PC. Never had any issues before, when going to sleep just turned the monitors off, and that was it. Since I got the Odyssey G5 (3 days ago), when turning the monitor off it just puts the PC in sleep mode, GPUs turn off, and that's it - monitor doesn't come back from sleep easily, too. Not sure if that could be related to DP 1.4, or anything like that, as I didn't have any issues with turning off the monitor before... Did anybody face this issue? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Is Palit really a good quality brand, as in Asus/EVGA level competition? Posted: 22 Aug 2021 06:55 AM PDT Some palit 1660s popped up for ~500 bucks on local stores. Yeah this price is very abusive but it's the cheapest i've seen in my country for the past year or so, and there are other brands in the market but they're over 600 dollars. I've also read on another reddit post that apparently it's the biggest graphics card manufacturer in the world? Can someone vouch for it? I've only ever used EVGA and Asus cards. Edit: I tried to look up their market share and company size but all that shows up are other known western brands [link] [comments]
Need Help - Dual GPU setup on old motherboard. Rig will not boot into desktop. BSOD. Posted: 22 Aug 2021 12:05 AM PDT I bought an old rig with the intention of turning it into a dual GPU miner. Motherboard: Gigabyte: GA-870A-UD3 PSU: Aresgame ATG1000 - 1000 watts modular CPU: AMD Phenom 2 - 945 GPU1: Asus TUF 6800 XT - installed on PCIE-x16 GPU2: Asus TUF 6800 - installed on PCIE-x4 RAM: 4GB 1333MHZ OS: Windows 10 (Legacy Boot - not UEFI) Each GPUs is powered with 2 dedicated 8-pin connections- (4 separate PCIE cables / not 2 split into 4) Almost done, but ran into some issues. When I power on the PC - I get a rainbow screen instead of the usual Gigabyte bootup screen with boot menu and bios access. After the rainbow screen, it continues to try and boot into windows but will turn into a BSOD. PC restarts. process repeats. GPU driver and Radeon software is installed. I pull out GPU1 and leave GPU2 installed on PCIE-x4. Power on. Rainbow startup screen, but boots to desktop, GPU is detected and works as expected. I pull out GPU2 and leave GPU1 installed on PCIE-x16. Power on. Rainbow startup screen, but boots to desktop. GPU is detected and works as expected. So if both GPUs work as expected when installed separately on their respective slots, why does rig not boot to desktop when they are installed together? Do I need an HDMI dummy plug? Should I be concerned about the rainbow screen? Seeking enlightenment with the intention of passing on knowledge to whoever needs it. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much! I just switched from Phoenix to Trex Posted: 21 Aug 2021 09:10 AM PDT I really wanted Phoenix miner to be my mining software, i used it since the start. It just keeps closing, stopping, or some error..its always something. The latest version from bitcointalk is running, etc etc. All my cards are Nvidia GPUs and i see Trex works well with them After switching, i immediately saw a 3mhs increase, went from an average of 158 to 162 just by switching software. All my temps dropped over 5° each card. Lets hope trex doesnt need as much attention as phoenix did. My software stack:

What indicators are there for whether a 2080 SUPER is LHR or not? Posted: 21 Aug 2021 06:21 PM PDT Debating buying a card right now but I can't see any way to know if it's LHR? Also, is 1200 CAD a good price or is that marked up? [link] [comments]

Added on a x11 from parallel miner and lost a GPU Posted: 21 Aug 2021 09:16 AM PDT I have a mining system with these specs.. 3) EVGA 1080ti 1) 5500xt 1) EVGA 2070 1) 650w PSU (System supply) 1) 1000x Corsair rm1000x (graphics cards only) 1) HP 750w (with x11) When I move any graphics card over to the X11 it powers on but doesn't show in windows, but if I put it back onto the 1000w PSU it works flawlessly. I bought the x11 with a 750w to even out the load across two power supplies but for some reason can't get it working. I can only assume that it's not in sync with the other graphics card or cannot mix between power supplies. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advanced. And the X11 powers on with the system VIA molex plug from the 650w system power supply. [link] [comments]
