How much do you guys make Per hour with your mining rigs? Posted: 20 Aug 2021 06:59 AM PDT And what do you think will be your goal per hour so you can retire :-) [link] [comments]
How many cards do you need to get to a point where you can realisticaly make $50-70k a year mining? Posted: 19 Aug 2021 09:52 AM PDT I currently only have one 3080 but I'm looking to get a few more cards and then seriously think about building a full rig. I'm curious about the investment I'd need to make to realisticaly get to this point, unless I can get my hand on an ASICS [link] [comments]
Riserless miners, what server case are you using? Posted: 19 Aug 2021 11:54 AM PDT Hey guys, looking for a server case to throw my 8 gpu riserless motherboard in. Let me know what has worked best for you! [link] [comments]
What procedures to follow before using manufacturer’s warranty? Posted: 19 Aug 2021 12:51 PM PDT This post is meant for people who have dealt with manufacturers before for warranty. I have ~3 Zotac 3070s all of whose second fan stopped spinning about couple months ago. The one fan was enough to cool the card enough to mine with full hashrate. But since we are coming closer to POS, I want to send them for repair to prepare them for resale one by one (so I don't lose so much hashrate at once) What should I do before sending them. And how should I clean them as they are dusty. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Aug 2021 11:28 AM PDT Yes I get it, mining OSes are awesome and everyone loves them but there are already enough middle men between me and my mined coins. My setup isn't big enough that I can't manage it manually myself. I am also aware that many mining OSes will let you run a small setup for free but considering mining is my hobby it is a lot less satisfying to burn an image onto a USB stick, stick it in and press the power button than it is to build it myself. I don't really like the idea of having to create a user and log into a website to manage my rigs either. That being said, does anyone have some info that will help me get up and running on Linux? Mining finance spreadsheet, except there's no weird paywall Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:57 PM PDT Someone else made one, but posted it as a read-only link and you had to donate to be able to use it. thought that was weird, so here's one for free. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Aug 2021 05:22 PM PDT Hi all, I recently built my first rig. Everything was working well at 4 cards, I mined for 2 weeks straight without a single issue and a consistent 116-117 hash rate. I've been doing the thermal pad upgrades on all of them. However, after adding a 5th card, I started noticing that the 5th card, and occasionally others, will not hold 285W on the overclock. It will occasionally drop down as low as 270W, reducing hash rate to around 109. I thought maybe I had done the thermal pad install wrong on this card alone, but then suddenly my other cards are displaying the same issues, cards that worked for weeks without issue only to suddenly have issues upon a 5th card install. Has anyone had this issue before? Any hints at what to check? It doesn't appear temps when checking on Windows, and the 5th card can hold any wattage I set it to for about 5-10 minutes, then will drop to around 270W. It doesn't stay here, and will eventually go back up, but it's intermittent. Of my cards, card 2 is now at 280W and card 5 is at 281W at the time of writing, but 5 minutes ago was 272. Other cards suddenly being affected by this really makes the issue hard to pin point. I have a 30A PDU with a dual 1600W PSU setup for these, only taking up around 7 amps total from the 5 cards, so I don't believe I'm lacking power either. My next step will be to swap the 5th card for the 4th and remove the 4th to see if issue persists due to the card, but I'm at work and figured I'd see if this is a known issue. Any help is appreciated. I have searched and couldn't find anything on this, so I hope I didn't miss the obvious. [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Aug 2021 08:41 AM PDT Just as the title says. Looking to get the most powerful power supply per dollar that I can to leave room for adding more cards. Currently will be starting out with just a 1070, 6700XT & 3070TI. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Aug 2021 12:38 PM PDT I wanna use this really old mobo that I have (old quad core with 4gb ram) and it only has 1 pci-e slot. Can I use a 1-to-4 adapter and plug in 3 cards into it, and then use 1 of those cards to display onto my 7" LCD? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Aug 2021 10:53 AM PDT I don't have a UPS and I don't think it would help coz of the power my rig pulls , so every now and then a power outage happens ( in my part of my country, it's fairly common) ,like 2- 3 times a day and my rig just goes offline as there is no power , I have set it to turn on and start mining with some tweak in the bios. But am anxious to whether these occasional power outages(2-3 timss daily) will damage my hardware in any way ? I have an NVME SSD where my OS - HIVEOS ( primary mining OS ) and a windows OS is on. I only use this rig for mining and nothing else And.yes I have a monitor also attached to it [link] [comments] |
