Posted: 11 Aug 2021 08:46 AM PDT I am running a 4x 3060Ti rig with all GPU set at 140W Power limit in Hive OS. I am using same pcie connector to power GPU and riser. I am not able to get new pcie connectors for my PSU now. Though I have configured a PL of 140W which is less than rated 150W for PCIE connectors. I am not exactly sure how much I should trust the Power consumption reported by Hive OS. I have also heard that though 150W is the rated value, it can go till 280W theoretically. How risky is my configuration? Are there any alternatives that I can pursue provided getting new PCIE connectors is going to be a challenge. [link] [comments]

Which parts of the GPU core are used by mining algorithms? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 07:16 PM PDT Which parts of the GPU core are used by mining algorithms? Are the unified shaders the only parts used? Or do mining algos also use the texture mapping units and render output units? [link] [comments]
Rig trips breaker even when power consumption low Posted: 11 Aug 2021 06:55 AM PDT I've been mining on minerstat windows for about a week now and I've been running into this problem where my rig crashes. I have it connected to a power strip with a breaker and the breaker is always tripped when I go to restart it. The rig pulls just over 1000w, around 1020 usually. Despite this not being enough to overdraw my psu, I for some reason still trips the breaker. I've messed around a lot with the oc settings, but I don't think reducing the power draw further would do anything since it's already well below the limit of the psu. From what I understand, a breaker trips when more power is being drawn than it can supply. I'm drawing about 65% of my psu's limit, so by my understanding, there should be no way for the rig to be over drawing. Any info would be very helpful! Info about my rig: 8x 6700xt 4gb ram Intel Celeron 2.4gh 1600w psu OC settings: Core clock: 1300 Core voltage: 700 Memory clock: 2150 Memory voltage: 750 Fan speed: 80% [link] [comments]
