- Genuine vs Fake 18AWG cables
- My first riser ^.^
- Unfinished attic setup (280mhs)
- Are 8GB DDR4 enough for an x8 3090s rig?
- Why use HiveOS?
- What to do with sata risers
- Any way to undervolt a laptop other than afterburner?
- So not all RTX 3070/3070Ti has thermo pads behind back plate? Has anyone added between board and back plate, result?
- How do I get tweak the settings from NH in MSI afterburner??
- Will SAM work with PCIe Gen 3 mode on x570 w/ 5600x and compatible GPUs or be enabled in multi GPU setup where some GPUs support it and some don't?

Are 8GB DDR4 enough for an x8 3090s rig? Posted: 07 Aug 2021 12:19 AM PDT or should i up to 16GB? I get random windows(10) crashes and sometimes in event viewer is see fails in virtual memory (even though it's close to max - rounded down) - adding sticks will up my virtual memory max? Or is this happening for some other reason? tnx. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Aug 2021 05:51 AM PDT So why use HiveOS and not Windows to mine? Isnt better to be able to see your Memory temp and all that instead of using HiveOS and going blind? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Aug 2021 08:52 AM PDT Hi everyone so I got really excited about making my first build about a month ago and ordered 10 pcie risers off of ebay. Still being a noob at the time I failed to notice the power was coming from a sata connection. It's a sata to 6 pin so I don't think it was a complete waste but now what do I do? Do I buy 10 molex to 6 pin adapters? Do I just use a 6pin off of a spare psu? I've been reading the guides and such but I would like some actual human responses, thanks! [link] [comments]
Any way to undervolt a laptop other than afterburner? Posted: 06 Aug 2021 06:32 PM PDT Basically my MSI afterburner greys out the fan control and voltage controls, and even when I had the settings for them on they were still grey. In fact in the settings there isn't even a fan tab. I was wondering how else you could undervolt the GPU to reduce temps etc. And before anyone asks why im using a laptop to mine its an old 1660ti MSI laptop that I have laying around and I want to mess around with it. How do I get tweak the settings from NH in MSI afterburner?? Posted: 06 Aug 2021 10:49 PM PDT When I used nicehash quickminer I was getting 55mh and 75w power for the 2060 and 52w for the 1660 and the temp was lower too but I don't know how to get the same settings in MSI afterburner [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:57 PM PDT I am putting together a mining rig using a MSI Meg x570 Unify board with a 5600x, RX 5700 xt, 6700 xt, and either a RTX 3060 or RX Vega 56 (Maybe both in the future) because I already have everything except for the 5600x and riser cables on hand to use. PCIe gen 4 riser cables are stupid expensive, so I'd prefer to stick with gen 3 cables. The motherboard has 3x PCIe x16 slots on it, so is it possible to run the GPUs that are compatible with SAM/Resizable bar with the bios forcing PCIe Gen 3 mode or not? Also, is it possible to have SAM turned on for the cards that support it and still have the GPU that doesn't support it work normally? The vega 56 does not support SAM I don't believe, nor does the 3060, but the 3060 does support resizable bar, so could the 5700 xt and 6700 xt use SAM while the 3060 uses resizable bar? I'm perfectly fine with just disabling SAM/resizable bar for now to save a few hundred bucks getting this miner up and running (plus I don't plan on using the x570 board forever to mine with anyway), but it's been shown by some people on youtube that SAM can increase eth hashrate quite a bit, so it would be a nice to have if I can use it. Also, would I be able to use SAM and Resistable BAR simultaneously with Nvidia/AMD GPUs in the same rig? I mean it's technically the same technology, so I would think so. [link] [comments] |
