INFRARED RIG Thermal Photography Posted: 14 Aug 2021 03:18 AM PDT I am mining ETH with 5x RTX 3070 (Gigabyte) and was wondering about the Connector Temps because of fire hazard.I use 1x HX1000i PSU currently drawing around 820W From the Wall (5x120W(GPU)+10x8W(HDD)+1x80W(CPU)+MB+HDD Controller+SSD) Every 3070 is (minimum) connected with 1x Y-PCI-Cable. 1 End going to the riser & 1 End to a Splitter & then powering the 8 & 6 PIN Card Power Connectors. This should not result in a Problem because:
So I made some Thermal pictures of them and now i share them with you :) Somebody knows if 50° C is to High for a PCI-Connector? I can't find a data sheet about connector Temps. For me as a Electrician & Automation Engineer it seems hot but not to hot. I will definitely keep a eye on the hotter Cables [link] [comments]
Evga xc3 3080 low-cost memory temp solution Posted: 14 Aug 2021 04:14 AM PDT My 3080 normally runs at 95mh @ 92/94 memory temps with 85% fan. Been looking into solutions to get the mem tempture down. Copper shims, replace thermal pads etc. Decided just to repaste the gpu die and put some paste onto the top of the existing thermal pads. I used artic silver ceramique 2. After 20 mins I'm now running at 96mh @ 86 memory temp with fan at 80% will tweek further and hopefully can do 100mh below 90c [link] [comments]

Why are ppl still buying gpus with Eth2.0 around the corner Posted: 13 Aug 2021 11:07 PM PDT I was planning on selling my rig soon... between now and eth2.0. Could someone explain why so many ppl are still buying gpus and building more mining rigs with Eth2.0 just around the corner. [link] [comments]
Can the 3060Ti LHR run on a riser without a monitor? Posted: 14 Aug 2021 07:30 AM PDT Hi all, Got switched by eBuyer for a LHR GPU.. Didn't realise until it was connected to the rig. I was originally planning to connect it to HiveOS but thinking to use NiceHash auto-algo switching software. Question: Can the 3060Ti LHR run on risers and without a dummy HDMI, or does it need to be connected directly to the mobo with a monitor? Thanks [link] [comments]
Getting 9 GPUs to work with Asus Prime Z590-P Posted: 14 Aug 2021 01:28 AM PDT Hey everyone! I have an Asus Prime Z590-P board, but I can only get 8 GPUs working on it. I'm using PCIe to 4x USB expansion cards. Whenever I install the 9th card, the motherboard will boot into BIOS instead of HiveOS. Anyone had similar issues or has been able to get 9 GPUs working on the Z590-P? I can boot into HiveOS with the 9th GPU, but I have to do it manually through BIOS select boot option. Once I boot into HiveOS the GPU runs fine for first few seconds and then it gives an error. Above 4G decoding is on, PCIe speed is Gen 1 and I've updated the BIOS to the latest version. Attn. Miners: Be careful with open windows! I almost lost two rigs today because of a rainstorm! Posted: 13 Aug 2021 10:07 PM PDT I recently built two new rigs and left them in my bedroom (about where I would want to place my grow tent when I get it). There aren't many places where I could put my rigs without tripping my circuits and being able to give them adequate ventilation during the summer months, but fortunately there was a place where I could keep a window open (while I'm home). It seemed perfect because nobody would be able to see my GPUs (or my new grow tent) unless they were looking really hard... Unfortunately, it started raining in my sleep, and the rain started coming down hard. If the sound of lightning and heavy rain had not woke me up, I could have slept through an unexpected rainstorm while my window was open and my GPUs were right next to that window. If you're going to use a window for ventilation, make sure there is something protecting your rigs from water damage. It turns out grow tents are not waterproof (and obviously neither are your mining rigs). The good news is that I was able to close my windows before any rain could get through and all of my rigs are 100% safe and sound right now. TL;DR I could have lost two rigs from the rain this evening because I opened a window for ventilation, didn't expect any rain overnight, and didn't close it before I went to bed because I didn't want my rigs turning my bedroom into a Florida summer. Powered pcie risers vs pcie extensions cables Posted: 13 Aug 2021 02:41 PM PDT Just hoping to power and mine with two cards in a vertical gpu layout. I wanted to get some feedback from you guys about which way to go about it. Are there any benefits or drawbacks to using either risers or pcie cables? Other than being able to power more gpus [link] [comments]

Running HiveOS + ethash + pheonixminer Pheonixminer keeps rebooting every hour or so, is this due to my OC settings? Would anyone recommend different miners? Different OC ? Thanks! I included my OC settings. [link] [comments] |
